Is it best to avoid the meta keywords tag?
-
We were earlier using the meta keywords tag on our pages and on reading a recommendation on Moz for the same being redundant, we went ahead and removed the same!
Can anyone provide inputs on whether the meta keywords tag is really irrelevant or actually detrimental to a page?
Thanks

I would just leave it blank, some say remove them or some say add keywords as like Arif said it can be used by smaller search engines.
I personally would leave it blank and focus on adding your keyword and also variations of your keyword in the page and in the Title and Description tags.
When it comes to on-page work I always think of Marys Chocolate Donuts.... Thanks Rand ha

Something else to consider why you might want to omit them, that is an easy way for your competitors to do keyword research.
-
Well. Google don't care about Meta Keywords anymore (As you know). But it is not actually causing any harm or irrelevancy (Just one thing though, giving insight of keywords you are targeting to competitors) because there are a lot of small search engines still value meta keywords . These search engines can bring some traffic. If you want to reduce your work then you can avoid using meta keywords, they do not bear any SEO value anymore for Big engines,

URL Best Practices (for site with millions of records)
We have a company information database where we also list companies located in a specific building/property. We plan to add more information to these pages basically to create a Property/building database. From an SEO standpoint, what is the best URL structure? Please note we will have information on millions of properties, across the US. Currently this is an example of what we are displaying http://www.buzzfile.com/Lists/Companies-located-at-45-Broadway,-New-York,-NY,-10006/6959468 When we change this, we plan to also migrate to https. For the above page, we are considering changing it to something like the following: 1 - https://www.buzzfile.com/Property/45-Broadway,-New-York,-NY,-10006/6959468 2 https://www.buzzfile.com/Property/6959468 Most users will search for these pages by address. What do you recommend we change our URLs to in order to get maximum SEO lift? Thank you,

What's the best way to identify duplicate listings?
I'm doing manual duplicate research for an account and wanted to know if anyone had a resource to share on how to find duplicate listings for GMB and other citations. https://searchengineland.com/definitive-guide-duplicate-research-local-seo-238719 Ive been working off of this article from Joy Hawkins, but she mentions using Map Maker to search a phone number, but Google has since shut Map Maker down. Maps doesn't seem to work the same way, as I've searched a phone number which I know has duplicate listings and they don't come up. Any tips on a better tool or process?

Best Listings for Service Area Business?
Hi Moz community! I'm wondering the best places to get a local service area business listed online? I'm working with a client who installs synthetic grass around Vancouver, but could apply to any local SAB ... I found this resource from Local Visibility Systems but it's almost 5 years old at this point ... http://www.localvisibilitysystem.com/2012/08/13/can-you-rank-well-in-local-google-without-revealing-your-street-address-anywhere/ I started setting up an Apple Maps Connect account but it doesn't seem like they support the concept. Is there a way to hide an address in Apple Maps Connect? Is it worth submitting at all? Does anyone have a comprehensive list of modern directories that matter for local SEO that support SABs? Thanks very much everyone! - Paul

URL Structure and Keyword Focus for location page
Our company has around 1,700 locations across the country. These are contract shops mind you but still locations in which we will be placing pages for on our website. I have been browsing through all of the Local SEO blogs and trying to define the strategy for these. Here are a couple of outstanding questions I still have: 1. What should the URL structure of the page be for these locations? Keep in mind that there are some cities that have multiple locations in them so I can just do "/city/brand-keyword." I am thinking it should be "www.url.com/state/city/location-name"where the location name would for example "TXBrandName." 2. How should I structure the keyword focus for these pages? I am thinking that these pages will probably rank for some variations and should definitely include the city name although the search volume is very low. Currently I am thinking that they would be "keyword city – brand name." 3. How do we handle the shops that are contract and have a primary business already listed? We plan on listing them on GMB using "located inside of {business name}" on those that are contract shops. We originally considered using a suite# but one of the articles in Moz recommended not doing that. I just know that places like "Starbucks" and "Banfield" seem to use the "located inside of" without any issues. Any input would be greatly appreciated as we about to set all these up and I want to make sure we are setup for success as much as possible.

Best Local Citation Building Services
Hi, have any of you ever used a local citation building service? Are some better than others, any recommendations? Any bad experiences or companies to avoid? I'm fairly new to the process and it looks like there's a lot of snake oil salesmen in this vertical, so any and all insight you could give me would be great! Thank you in advance, I look forward to hearing feedback from all of you!

Yext & Moz Local - Avoiding Dupliates
What happens if we are using Yext and Moz Local at the same time? I hear it can create duplicates. However if the NAP is exactly the same on both, why cant the aggregators/citation sources figure this out on their own? I need to develop a clearer understanding before i start submitting a select few of my clients through Yext. I do have the option to opt out of the Factual aggregator on Yext. Instead we would only update the sites that Yext has access to. End of day we are going to continue using Moz.com/local but yext saves us dozens of man hours while trying to clean up citations and fix duplicates (temporarily ofcourse until we contact them ourselves).

Best Practices For Local SEO For A Nation Wide Property Company?
Hi There, I've recently acquired a client that sells property all over the country (South Africa). It's in their best interests to rank well for localised keywords relating to the areas they have listed properties in. eg. Property for sale in example suburb/town/province. The project has a number of challenges which I'd appreciate any suggestions for The site acts as an aggregator for numerous partner property agents and, as s such, has a lot of duplicate content on it The company only has offices in one city. It handles online bookings which it then passes to its partner agencies - this presents me with a problem of creating listings in the areas I need to rank for I cannot list the actual addresses of properties Your thoughts and advice would be seriously appreciated.
