What do you charge for Pay Per Click?
-
I know the answers vary greatly, and I don't want anyone to have to give away numbers. I guess the question is more, how do you charge?
- Percentage of ad spend (if so, what percent if you don't mind)
- Percentage plus hourly rate
- Flat Fee
- Hourly Rate
- Results Based
- Some other model?
I'm just curious how other people are doing it and if I'm in the minority. Thanks.

Flat rate, and charge an hourly rate for setting up additional ad groups and tie in the reporting. We try to keep the client's money in their pocket and just charge for a reasonable amount of effort. That seems to work well for both clients who spend $10,000/month and those that spend $1,000/mo on PPC.
-
We have a very different model. Flat rate, no contracts, and by effort (as measured by ad groups).
-
I would generally recommend a percentage based upon a set budget. That seems to be fair enough. Bruceclay.com is pretty transparent about their pricing. I would say that's a fair enough pricing example. If you start charging much more than that, it will really eat into campaign performance, IMO.
Then again, if I didn't have to pay bills, I would do pretty much all internet marketing functions for free.
-
Some other model?
Our firm has been approached by people who charge a monthly fee with a contract, a monthly fee without a contract, and I think someone else wanted to charge us a monthly fee + percentage of ad spend.
Best,
Ruben

Help regarding Backlinks DA
Hey I'm doing web optimization of my site Best Blender under $100 My inquiry is with respect to Backlinks. There are 2 things which can be seen in MOZ announcing 1. DA(Domain Authority) 2.Spam Score Presently how might I choose from which site would it be advisable for me to get Backlinks? From higher DA and Low Spam Score or Higher DA and High Spam Score? Does Spam Score will affect my Rankings or not? Also, my last inquiry is what number of Backlinks would it be advisable for me to make on everyday schedule? Respects,

Confused About Potential Spammy Inbound Link
I unsure how my page got backlinked on this "passive DNS" website: http://pdns.daloo.de/search.php?alike=0&q=66.96.162.137 This looks to be my only inbound link, so I am worried this is negatively affecting my site ranking. Is this 56% spam score link negatively affecting my website? If so, any suggestions? Any feedback or insight would be greatly appreciated as I am very ignorant to what this person's webpage is about and why my page was linked.. Sincerely, Hayden My website: https://cashflo.org/

Community Discussion: The hardest (& most surprisingly valuable) thing you've gone through for your SEO career?
In the comment discussion for Thursday's blog post, An Essential Training Task List for Junior SEOs, there's been mild debate around some of the items, such as having a Junior SEO build a website by hand. It's a fantastic comment discussion (the kind that makes a blog manager's heart sing), and it's got me thinking. We've all gone through the wringer when it comes to boosting our careers. Heck, I was a poetry major and found myself learning SQL last week. What hurdles have you jumped that have been painful and challenging, but have taken your career to the finish line? Maybe even gotten you the gold?* What would you recommend to newbies just starting out (or warn them about)? *Yeah, I got Olympic about it. I went there. 🙂

How much to charge?
Hi, I know this topic results in many mixed answers, so I'll try to keep it focused on how much to charge based on my past work. I built a site, did all the SEO, and run a Google Adwords Campaign for a site: www.aerlawgroup.com. If you google "Los Angeles Criminal Defense Attorney" (or any variation of that) - you can see the results. The Google Adword campaign has also generated a lot of leads. So here's my question: what do you charge a client if you're going to do intense, high-quality work that involves: (1) building a site, (2) SEO, and (3) designing and implementing a Google Adword campaign? Please be cognizant that my results are within the context of a highly competitive environment. My business plan would involve exclusivity, so that I don't have clients cannibalizing each other. What would you charge for that type of service? I'm not asking in the context of my current client, but in the context of future clients. Assuming you are willing to do time-intensive, high-quality work.

How to Find A SEO Guru?
How to find a SEO Guru I am a looking for a SEO to take over our SEO needs for our website.I am not interested in learning SEO and would rather leave it to the pro's.We already have great traffic 800K+ monthly but we need to take it to the next level and beyond. I have searched through SEOMOZ and read articles everywhere and done all that, I think I am more confused now than when I started on how to find a great SEO. While their are plenty of great SEO guys out their a lot of them I don't feel comfortable putting our business in their hands.Their are some smaller SEO's and some shady SEO's that won't work for us.Then some just don't have the credentials or background for us to hand over our hard earned money and have the future of our businesses in their hands. We want someone who has worked on big projects and had great success and is a industry leader but is willing to work with me and be hands on just not send me reports and suggestions. I am Trying to find SEO guru who knows his stuff and knows it well.I know i will pay good money for this but would like to find some up and comers so I don't have to sell unborn children to afford their services. What would be a good way to a great seo maybe even a guru? Finding the right SEO has become a daunting task.
