Here are a couple of posts about performing an audit on your site to help diagnose problems, and they may help get you started:

I check my site using webmaster tools and did not find any errors. I will try to make crawl diagnostics. I check site: and it is show almost all my pages from website. All content is unique. I read in the Internet and see my second website have few likes on facebook and twitter. Is social media likes makes some effect on google ranking ?

I'd make sure the site is verified in Google Webmaster Tools, and see if there are suggestions there about the site, or notices of anything wrong. Run it through the crawl diagnostics in Moz and see what we might pick up. Take a couple of phrases from your site, put them in Google, and make sure that it's original content and not on several other sites, or a dev site that was accidentally left up. Do a site:yoursite.com in Google to see what is indexed already.
Those are just my first few thoughts of things to look at.

Try a search for site:yourdomain.com .
If there's no result at all, it's most likely something that prevents your page from being indexed or crawled. For example having sitewide rel="noindex" in your header or you might be disallowing search engine bots to crawl your page.
Check your robots.txt, your source code and the crawl issues in Google Webmastertools.
If there are results for your site: search, you just have to get going on your SEO.
Good luck!

How Would Google Approach Devaluing Infographic Links?
How do you think Google would go about devaluing infographic links? Suppose the infographic image itself is not hyperlinked to the creator's site but there is a paragraph that mentions the creator and links to their site. How would Google distinguish the infographic creator's link from other external links on the page?

Free Classified Backlinks & Google
Is there a risk that Google will de-index your site or lower your ranking if you have too many backlinks from free classifed sites? I would just use 1 free ad per classified website. Thanks.

Website not appearing in top 100
A few months ago, we launched the website www.gunnersdirect.com. The main keyword target for this website was "arsenal shirts", which you can see is at the very start of the page title. In fairness, limited work has been done to the link building, etc due to time constaints so I would not expect it to rank at the top. However, it does not appear to rank even in the top 100. This gives me major cause for concern, as surely Google should at least recognise the website, albeit in a lowly position? Does this point to some underlying coding issue or penalty? What would you recommend we do to turn round it's fortunes?

Huge increase in rank ..
Hi Today I went from 8th to 1st place for my main keywork ( barneklær) childrens clothing in norwegian . Ive been trying to link build regularly. Last couple of weeks ive gotten links from a few catalogues and some blogs and I by no means expected a rank increase like this. Ive tried to look them up to understand why this happened - but i cant understand it. Any ideas as to how i can find out. I just dont want to drop 7 spots again without knowing what happened .. Sites URL www.epleskrinet.no if that can help . Thanks Dan Lærum

Link from an app to a website?
I know someone with a phone app who would like to link to my website from the app. Would there be any SEO benefit to this at all, or would the only benefit be the traffic?

My google rankings went down
I've been working with a company to get some incoming links since April 2011. We are targeting only 2 keywords. For one keyword I was ranked number 1 until a couple of weeks ago. In fact, most of my rankings went down including those keywords that the company was not working on. They are writing 5 articles per month and posting them to their proprietary network. Could those backlinks could harmed my rankings?
