It's all going to depend on your CMS, but if you are looking to understand what is being referenced, right click on a page on your site and select view source, the search for meta. The meta property description is what should be there (almost all CMS's allow you to edit this). Your page title should be much shorter, and you shouldn't have multiple pages with the same title. Again, nearly every CMS makes this very easy to edit.

Hi,
If you want to add a sort of meta description template then you'll have to use a plugin, or use some php to create your meta description in the head. Like using your page title and category - "We've got all the news on category, read post title on website name"
But what actually happens in SERPs when you have no description is the section of your page which contains the keyword is used as the description, giving you another eye-catching bolded keyword. Will those uniform meta descriptions templates help your click through rate as much as a bolded keyword, which you know the searcher has typed into the search bar? Probably not.
You should focus your efforts on your highest performing pages and add unique meta descriptions enticing searchers to click through to your site, working your way through to pages which perform less well. Try using a spider such as Screaming Frog to crawl your site and show you the titles and descriptions of all your pages together. It has a nice little tool built in to preview what your page would look like in Google SERPs, and you can get a feel for what a searcher will see.
Hope that helps,
Tom

i mean to ask that how to remove Missing Meta Description from multiple of pages( thousand of pages). This is dynamic pages of issues, so how can put meta description thousand of pages simultaneously?
-
Hi there,
Missing meta descriptions mean your pages do not include the meta description tag, or it's empty. Depending on which CMS you’re using you could find a plugin to help you quickly add titles and descriptions to pages. If you’re using wordpress as many people are then Yoast will be your best bet, as it’s bulk title and description editor will let you quickly fix these issues: https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/
You will be able to find plugins for different content management systems which do the same thing with a quick Google.
If your site is made up of static pages you’ll need to add a unique meta description to each page, remembering it should be below 160 characters to fit neatly underneath your page title in SERPs, like this:

Fixing Index Errors in the new Google Search Console - Help
Hi, So I have started using the new Search Console and for one of my clients, there are a few 'Index Coverage Errors'. In the old version you could simply, analyse, test and then mark any URLs as fixed - does anyone know if that is possible in the new version? There are options to validate errors but no 'mark as fixed' options. Do you need to validate the errors before you can fix them?

Single Page on my client's website is not crawling and indexing new changes. What could be the possible reason?
I made several changes on client's website on different pages, changed titles, add content on few pages, moved blog from subdomain to sub directory. Everything is crawled but there is one page on the website (not part of the blog) that isn't getting crawled in Google and picking up changes. The last crawl of the website is 2 days back whereas that page was last crawled on 30th sep. I just wanted to know the possible reasons and has anyone encountered this before?

Title Tag issue
Hello, This is a weird one. I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. A couple months ago, we updated trinitypower.com and it was back then that I first noticed this issue, but because the home page title tag was okay and contained the primary terms for that page, I told myself I would circle back. The problem is that even though Google crawls the site everyday, it does not update the title tag text in it's index. Google: "Trinity Power Rentals" and you will see the title in the index as "Trinity Power: Temporary Power Rentals". Go to trinitypower.com and view source. You will see the title tag in the code as "Temporary Power Rentals - Trinity Power" The desc tag has been updated correctly, but I can't figure out why not the Title tag. You can look at the cache version in the index of Google. It is showing the latest version of that tag, so I really do not understand what has happened here. I am using WP Super Cache... maybe a conflict with that? I have dumped it's cache numerous times though. Please let me know what you think. Thanks, Jarrett

Duplicate content issues?
Our company consists of several smaller companies, some of whom deal with very similar things. For instance, two of our companies resell accounts software, but only one provides after-sales support. Because of the number of different companies and websites we have, sometimes it would be easier to simply copy content from one site to the other, optimised in the same manner as, in some instances, we would want different websites to rank for the same keywords. I have been asked my opinion on the potential impact of this practice and my initial response was that we should avoid this due to potential penalties. However, I thought I'd garner opinion from a wider audience before making any recommendations either way. What do people think? Thanks.

Google Crawl Errors from vbseo change
We have vbseo setup on our site and for some reason a setting was changed unexpectedly and was un-noticed where it changed the URL of all the pages and so none of our pages were getting indexed by google any longer due to 401 errors. Most of our SE traffic fell off. We discovered the issue a couple weeks ago and we changed the setting back so that the URLs are the same as they were originally before but in Google webmasters it's still showing crawl errors and our search engine traffic hasn't recovered at all. We have sitemaps being sent daily.

Solve duplicate content issues by using robots.txt
Hi, I have a primary website and beside that I also have some secondary websites with have same contents with primary website. This lead to duplicate content errors. Because of having many URL duplicate contents, so I want to use the robots.txt file to prevent google index the secondary websites to fix the duplicate content issue. Is it ok? Thank for any help!

On page report card instances of key terms in the body - I can't find them all
Hi guys, I'm using the on-page report card for a particular page which is returning 22 instances of my term, however when I check the source of the page, I can only find 6 instances across the whole page, let alone the body. The site is www.sportsbet.com.au, and the term "horse racing". I'm sure I'm missing something, would appreciate any explanation for this apparent discrepancy. Cheers, Jez

On Page Optimisation Reports
Firstly sorry if this has already been answered - I did look I promise.
On-Page Optimization | | Jock
Secondly sorry if the answer to this is blatently obvious! In the process of trying to optimise my landing pages, I am using On Page Optimisation reports. I have several (ok lots) with F grades which is not surprising as the landing page is not the landing page optimised for a certain keyword. If I change the landing page to the one that I have for a certain keyword then hey presto A or B grade (clever me)! Now here's the thing - presumably the landing page that is listed by default is the one that Google "sees" for a particular keyword. How do I change this if I can or do I have to be patient or am I just being plain daft?! Many thanks0
