No Google Analytics code on page BUT reporting is active

How could Google Analytics be reporting data if my pages don't have the GA code on them?

You can install the Tag assistant extension for chrome. This helps you figure out what google tags are on your page.

FYI an easier way is there is the following tool - http://spyonweb.com/ it will list the domains sharing the GA code.

This takes us down another path (won't explain why we have LESS traffic than shown by another tool), however, yes, there seem to be a couple of surprises...showing 5-40 sessions out of MANY.

Could be on a external javascript file. Have you checked those referenced on your site?

Try creating a custom report in Google Analytics to view all of the Hostnames that have your GA code.
> Custom Reports
> Metrics Groups (your choice [sessions])
> Dimension Drilldowns
- Hostname
This will give you a report of all the domains that have your GA code - are there any surprises here?

No. GA seems to work fine across our large enterprise site, however, there is a directory of 50+ pages for which GA is reporting data yet the snippet seems to be hidden on the page.

Have you gone to your GA and admin>Tracking info >Tracking code. From here it will tell you if its working or not it will also tell you the code. if its working there somewhere on your site is the code its tracking.
Did you set it up? Can you also ask who did and find out how it was set up too?

Hi there, Got a question on cross domain tracking: We have a couple of TLD's to serve localized content to our visitors, next to our main .com TLD where our app is running as well in a subdomain. Situation is this: Local sites:

People can sign up at the local site filling in their email but they end up in app.marketingsite.com/firstuse Reading this article on cross domain tracking I'm getting a bit confused on the setup of the tracking code itself. The sample code provided shows these two lines: ga('require', 'linker'); ga('linker:autoLink', ['maindomain.com','targetdomain.com']); Now the question 🙂 Is it correct when I think that maindomain should be replaced with our local TLD's on every one of those, and that targetdomain is where the conversion happens? Last summer we setup another Google Analytics property for us with Universal Analytics and have been running this alongside the old Google Analtyics property. is there a way of exporting all the old data from the old property into the new Universal Analytics property?

How to setup Google Analytic goals that go to different urls?
I would like to setup my form's conversion rate as a goal in my Google Analytics account. The goal is complete when someone enters their information and hits submit. Logically, the "Thank you page" would be the destination url for the goal. My problem is that the thank you page is outside of the primary domain, for example, my site is: SiteExampl.com but the Thank you URL is thankyouurl.com Is it possible to setup a goal like this? If so how. Thanks in advance!

Goal tracking in Google Analytics
Hi folks I read from various sources that if you setup goals in Google Analytics each of these goals can only be fulfilled once per visit. Also some sources suggesting that only one goal from each goal group can be fulfilled per visit. On our site we have a goal for external links since this provides value to partners. Some users do open an external link in a new tab, then come back to the main site. Any further goal completions would then not get tracked. Since we apply a result based payment model for our work this means we are literally loosing money. Anyone has official info from Google on this? Can it be configured? How long is a visit? Analytics/Google Keyword comparison
Hi I'm trying to establish a methodology to best show the gap between potential and realised organic keyword traffic. To obtain potential keyword traffic I'm using the Google Adwords keyword tool to derive local monthly search volumes for exact keyword matches. However, I'm confused as to which is the best way of getting a comparable metric from Google Analytics (GA). I was using custom reports and the 'organic searches' metric. However, this provides different values to a standard report selecting non-paid search in the default advanced segments. What is the best report/metric in GA to use for both organic and paid search volumes that would be comparable to the Google Adwords keyword tool. Also, I'm having problems getting my kids to eat their greens, any advice! 😉 Thanks Neil
