Google Analytics Page Metrics and Redirects
-
Hi All-
Context: A site has been redesigned. Pages were renamed in the process.
Problem: It's very hard to compare before and after metrics because the page URLs are not the same.
Question: Anyone know how to do this in Google Analytics?
I'm hoping there's some simple trick I just don't know about.

NOTE for anyone reading this Q&A.
I looked at the Google Analytics Solutions Gallery to see if someone had already created a template I could import and modify. No luck.
I could still be missing something, but it looks like a combination of the suggestions above (a customized report and content groupings) might work. That said, Google states "Content Grouping is not retroactive. The Content Groups that you create are valid only from the creation date forward." That means, you need to be proactive and prepare your content groups BEFORE you flip the switch to the new site structure and/or URLs. If you wait till after, the grouping will still work, but it will only include stats from the date you created your groupings moving forward.
I've marked this question as answered. If anyone knows of an easier to implement solution, please chime in.

Thanks Ray-pp! I'll look at this as an option as well. May not work. Google says "Content Grouping is not retroactive. The Content Groups that you create are valid only from the creation date forward."

You could also check out the Content Grouping feature. This would allow you to group all your old pages (old url structure) into a category and compare those metrics to the group of new pages.

Beautiful! Thanks. I'll check it out. Didn't find anything when I did a search so you've possibly saved me a lot of time. I'll let you know.

Google Analytics Numbers Are Weird
Hi, I'm having a strange problem from past one month. My website gets about 10k pageviews a month with an average bounce rate of 50%. Lately, I observed a strange thing. The avg time on page of visitors from selected countries is less than 1 second and the bounce rate is zero!! How is this possible? This is happening from past one month and it would be really helpful if you guys could tell me what exactly is happening?? Ive attached a screenshot for better understanding. website url : https://www.specbee.com/ fIAXXgF 3zQuBAN

Pandora in Google Analytics
Hi Mozers, in Google Analytics our ads are registering a 10 second page duration and a 90% bounce rate, which is pretty atrocious. My questions are: Organic page duration is 3:15 minutes, and Social + Referral are similar. Yet Pandora is bringing the average time on site way down, to less than a minute. Will those paid ad metrics be factored to the User Behavior and therefore negative affect our overall rankings? In other words does Google now see our page duration as less than a minute? The Pandora rep says that Google Analytics and Pandora have "systemic issues" such that GA is very inaccurate with Pandora metrics. I find that difficult to believe. Any insights here? Thanks all! Jane

Whats (Other) traffic in Google Analytics?
When I look through all our clients, a few are receiving the majority of their traffic from (other). [ Acquisition > Channels > (Other) ]. The only option in (other) is "website" or "offline", whatever that may be. And even weirder, the avg session duration is 0:00. Any idea what this may be?

Need help setting up a Google analytics goal.
I'm just now getting my feet wet with the goals in GA. I'm trying to figure out how many visitors to a certain page, click on a certain link (which takes them no a certain page on my site.) What's the best way to go about this? Thanks.

Alternative to Google Analytics
Hi from sunny Manchester! I'm looking for recommendations for alternatives to GA. I'm specifically looking for something which won't sample data and will give us accurate numbers. Our site is pretty big, it receives 6 million+ visits and 50 million+ pageviews/year. Any recommendations would be greatly received together with any good/bad experiences you've had with them. Thanks in advance, Brendan.

Keep multiple Google Analytic / Webmaster accounts seperate?
Hi, I have a paranoid suspicion that putting all my websites on one Webmaster / Analytic account will mean any links between my sites won't carry any weight, and Google might consider similar content much more readily if 2 of my sites are in the same market. So I have about 4 different accounts with my main sites split across them. Am I being over paranoid? Do any of you have any problem with all your sites being on the same account?

Google analytics tracking
Is their a built-in or easy way to track the amount of times an exit link is clicked on a page and show that with other links of the page. For instance: I had a page with several external ad links on it and I want to track how many each got and rank them in google analytics
