I have plenty of backlinks but the site does not seem to come up on Google`s first page.
-
My site has been jumping up and down for many months now. but it never stays on Google first page. I have plenty of back-links, shared content on social media. But what could i be doing wrong? any help will be appreciated.
Content is legit. I have recently added some internal links is this might be the cause?
Please help .

i have used yoast plugins but it didn't help that much. I can't figure out if the problem is on page seo or off page seo.
-
Hi, I can recommend the yoast plugin for SEO (for wordpress sites). I don't have a wordpress site to look after anymore, but when I did I used this and it was the DBs!
-
Well if the site is new and you are not greatly tied to it in any way, I'd start over. Not that you can't recover but it can take quite a while and will be some work. You have come to right place to learn though and that is to your credit! Check out some of the beginner guides here: http://moz.com/learn/seo
Wordpress is great and I am a big fan of Genesis and the Studiopress themes. Get a good host like WP Engine or Websynthesis just to name a couple. But most of all read in this forum.
Welcome and good luck!

Thanks gazzerman1 and chris661 for your replies.
I am just new to wordpress and brought the theme and just started using them. Not sure about the coding on top.
I have seen site like mine ranking better than me even with the spammy backlinks. My seo guy messed up the links and it was too expensive so i started learning it myself.
I am new to this but dying to learn how i can improve it.
Shall i just work on a different site because i dont think i am able to get rid of them bad backlinks.
thanks
-
Also in addition to what Gazzerman sees, looks like the WP template files that probably came as a demo with the theme are still there and indexed with the WP Latin boilerplate. This needs to be cleaned up. Use the site: operator in Google search and you will see them. I don't mean to be blunt but Backlinks look pretty spammy to me. If you paid for links like a lot of the comment spam and profile spam, you need to clean those up as well.
Best,

Is it the the url on your profile? If so I just took a look at the code and you have 1600 lines of code before the first line of text, why is there so much code on this page? It should all be put in a style sheet and js files.
Google will favor better optimized sites, especially when its as bad as that. The site on the surface looks great.
Its not about the quantity of links but the quality, a good link is worth a thousand crappy ones and the weak ones can even hurt you.
Until we can look at your site and know for sure what one it is and then understand a keyterm your talking about for us to analyze it will be too difficult to answer your needs.

Why is this site ranked #1 in Google with such a low DA (is DA not important anymore?)
Hi Guys, Would you mind helping me with the below please? I would like to get your view on it and why Google ranks a really new domain name #1 with super low domain authority? Or is Domain Authority useless now in Google? It seems like from the last update that John Mueller said that they do not use Domain Authority so is Moz Domain Authority tool not to take seriously or am I missing something? There is a new rehab in Thailand called https://thebeachrehab.com/ (Domain authority 13)It's ranked #1 in Google.co.th for these phrases: drug rehab thailand but also for addiction rehab thailand. So when checking the backlink profile it got merely 21 backlinks from really low DA sites (and some of those are really spammy or not related). Now there are lots of sites in this industry here which have a lot higher domain authority and have been around for years. The beach rehab is maybe only like 6 months old. Here are three domains which have been around for many years and have much higher DA and also more relevant content. These are just 3 samples of many others... <cite class="iUh30">https://www.thecabinchiangmai.com (Domain Authority 52)</cite>https://www.hope-rehab-center-thailand.com/ (Domain Authority 40)https://www.dararehab.com (Domain Authority 32) These three sites got lots of high DA backlinks (DA 90++) from strong media links like time.com, theguardian.com, telegraph.co.uk etc. (especially thecabinchiangmai.com) but the other 2 got lots of solid backlinks from really high DA sites. So when looking at the content, thebeachrehab.com has less content as well. Can anyone have a look and let me know your thoughts why Google picks a brand new site, with DA 13 and little content in the top compared to competition? I do not see the logic in this? Cheers

Assessing the true value of a backlink
I want to start a discussion about assessing the true value of a backlink. Here's a scenario: I've just started working on SEO for a new client. Once I've got the strategy stuff out of the way, I like to start by looking at backlinks that competitors have. I use Moz OSE (and other tools) and filter by followed links to the root domain. This gives a good starting sense of where competitors are getting links from. As I start to explore those links, I see some black-hat (or grey-hat) practices at play: display:none links, footer links, sidebar links, comment spam, etc. The problem I have is, there seems to be no way of knowing whether or not those links are responsible for boosting the competitors rankings. They come from sites that have good DA and PA, yet we're told that tactics like display:none and comment spam will either get those links devalued or may cause some sort of manual action. My question is, how do others evaluate the full spectrum of the value a link has that goes beyond trust, authority, and citation flow?

Creating pages as exact match URL's - good or over-optimization indicator?
We all know that exact match domains are not getting the same results in the SERP's with the algo changes Google's been pushing through. Does anyone have any experience or know if that also applies to having an exact match URL page (not domain). Example:
White Hat / Black Hat SEO | | lidush
keyword: cars that start with A Which way to go is better when creating your pages on a non-exact domain match site: www.sample.com/cars-that-start-with-a/ that has "cars that start with A" as the or www.sample.com/starts-with-a/ again has "cars that start with A" as the Keep in mind that you'll add more pages that start the exact same way as you want to cover all the letters in the alphabet. So: www.sample.com/cars-that-start-with-a/
www.sample.com/cars-that-start-with-b/
www.sample.com/cars-that-start-with-C/ or www.sample.com/starts-with-a/
www.sample.com/starts-with-b/
www.sample.com/starts-with-c/ Hope someone here at the MOZ community can help out. Thanks so much0 -
Multiple Versions of Mobile Site
Hey Guys, We have recently finished the latest version of our mobile site which means currently we have 2 mobile sites. Depending on what device and Os will depend on which site you will be presented with.
White Hat / Black Hat SEO | | seekjobs
e.g.
iPhone 3 or 4 users on iOS4 will get version 1 of our mobile site
iPhone 5 users on iOS5 will get the new version (version 2) of our mobile site. Our old mobile site is currently indexed in Google and performing pretty well.
Since the launch of the second mobile site we have not see any major changes to our visibility in Google and so was curious My main concern here is duplicate content so I am curious can Google detect that we have 2 mobile site that we serve depending on device? And if Google can detect this, why has our sites not been penalized! Thanks, LW I know the first thing that comes to your mind is Duplicate content0 -

Has my site been penalized by google
Hi all I have noticed a sudden drop in rankings for most of my keywords on kerryblu ,co,uk and was thinking the site may have been manually penalized by google. I have not received any notification of this in webmaster tools but can't think of any other reason for the loss of rankings. I have searched the web for info on this but can't find a definite answer. Is there any way of knowing for sure. At the time of the crash the only real change I made was adding google adsense to my blog. Could this be responsible. Thanks for looking.
