Home page optimisation question - Expanding box
-
Hi guys,
I was wandering if anyone can help me on how google looks at expanding boxes now? What I am referring to is on our home page orderblinds.co.uk we have an article written which shows a taster of the information about the company, the user then has to click read more to expand the box and see the rest of the content.
Is this bad for seo as when you view the html all the content is there but I'm sure google can work out that this text isn't visible until you click read more?
Any feedback on this subject would be great,

Yeah, that kinda display trick is transparent to the googleBot....i.e. it's for users not bots...so it's not an issue...use them as you see fit...

If you are using it in a normal way, for good usability and not to be deceptive, you should be OK. (Matt Cutts on the topic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsW8E4dOtRY )

Will it upset Google if I aggregate product page reviews up into a product category page?
We have reviews on our product pages and we are considering averaging those reviews out and putting them on specific category pages in order for the average product ratings to be displayed in search results. Each averaged category review would be only for the products within it's category, and all reviews are from users of the site, no 3rd party reviews. For example, averaging the reviews from all of our boxes products pages, and listing that average review on the boxes category page. My question is, will this be doing anything wrong in the eyes of Google, and if so how so? -Derick

Post Pinguin Onpage Optimisation - How Do I Build the Perfectly Optimized Page?
Hello, So far I always follow the recomendations of the chocolate donuts example of Rand Fishkin on the Blogpost: How Do I Build the Perfectly Optimized Page? I also think that the onpage grades follow this rules. Do you think this is still all true after pinguin? Personally none of my websites have been afected by the update and I have an A grade on all my landing page. What do you think about the image alt text. Is it still a good idea to use the keyword? Are there any newer resources here on SEOMOZ (I didn't find any with my search)? Thanks for sharing your experiences.. Regards

Source page leading to a 404 pages in reports
Hi everybody, I wonder how to find and quickly correct 404 errors in my crawl reports : SeoMoz says me "http://domain.com/this-page-is-dead" is 404, but I can't figure out a source page where a link to that url appears. I tried a google link:http://domain.com/this-page-is-dead request, with no more luck. I imagine the trick is trivial, but I need it 🙂 Moreover, why do not show a list of pages referring to this 404 page on reports ? Thanks, Loïc
