My competitors are using on page black hat methods
They are using like
keyword stuffing
What should i do.?
-
-
MP3 downloads aren't competitive? I would have thought they were quite competitive and there being fairly cutthroat competition.
-
concentrate on your on-page SEO, try to get UGC on your website, since it should match well with the industry you are in and in few months you will see a difference!
-
According to you what should i do.??
-
When you in a such low volume or non competitive industry, is important to know that Google may allow someone with low quality even someone using grey hat SEO to rank just because that someone maybe better than the rest..
-
Thanks for your reply. How can i contact you as i can't post urls here.? (New to moz)
-
Yes i am in non competitive industy( mp3 download).
-
I reported them but nothing happens (i reported a week ago)
-
having gone that road, never mess with black hat. Keep it nice and clean, work on your website, improve your on-page optimization, report them to be on the safe side, and wait...
the worse thing someone could do is fight fire with fire. Let them burn and stay clear. The only issue is if you are in a non competitive industry.. Is that the case?
-
My guess is there are probably other factors causing their ranking over you. Keyword stuffing in divs is so 2001,,,
You can report them as RangeMaketing suggested, sure. I would review other on-page areas to see if there are ways you can improve on the basics. I would also see if there are any links passing link equity that you can acquire that match their profile. If your page is better across the board for SEO than theirs, you have more PA/DA, etc., you may want to consider getting some co-citations to appear as an equal to them PLUS your better on-page metrics.
Hope this helps.

Best you can do is report the website for 'cloaking' via Webmaster Tools:
-
yes it is working for them but i don't want google to penalize my site after some time.
-
Is it working for them? If so, see if it works for you.
There is no white hat/black hat. There are only differing levels of risk tolerance. And risky SEO does pay off when done correctly.

Can Javascript Links Be Used to Reduce Links per Page?
We are trying to reduce the number of links per page, so for the low-value footer links we are considering coding them as javascript links. We realize Google can read java, but the goal is to reduce level of importance assigned to those internal links. Would this be a valid approach? So the question is would converting low-value footer links to js like below help reduce the number of links per page in google's eyes even though we're reasonably sure they can read javascript. <a <span="" class="html-tag">href</a><a <span="" class="html-tag">="</a><a class="html-attribute-value html-external-link" target="_blank">javascript:void(0);</a>" data-footer-link="/about/about">About Us

My Meta Description changes when i use different keyword in google search.
Hello everyone, I have a question for the community. I have a website with several articles and news that i manage. I set specific meta descriptions for every page but when i search in google it gives me back different meta descriptions depending on the keyword that i use to search. What i notice is that google looks in my page for the most relevant part of the text that combines with my keyword and gives me back that result. I thought that this only happen when i have an empty meta description. Anyone felt the same ? Best Ricardo www.meuportalfinanceiro.pt

Competitor Out Ranks My Site
Hi This is my first question on SEOMoz and I am confused how a competitor can out rank me for a local search term SEO Tamworth. I have a higher Page Authority, Domain Authority, Number of links etc.. Would this be down to the quality of the links to my site or could it be down to the structure. I score an A for SEO on the on page analysis. Regards James

The Better Title to Use?
Hello Mozers- I am targeting the keywords "liposuction scottsdale", "liposuction phoenix", "liposuction mesa", "liposuction arizona". Out of the following two Titles below, one would you consider the better one? And Why? I am leaning towards the second example. If you have any more ideas that would be great. 1). Tummy Tuck Scottsdale, Phoenix, Mesa, Arizona 2).Tummy Tuck Scottsdale | Tummy Tuck Phoenix, Mesa, Arizona. Thanks!!

Recreate missing pages or just use 301 redirect?
Hi, on the Competitive Comparison section of the "link analysis" page the top 5 sites are linking to pages on my site that no longer exist. I'm wondering if it is worthwhile to recreate these pages that no longer exist or if I should just use a 301 redirect to some page on my site that has related info. Thanks for your suggestions.
