Dear SEO Expert,
We run a website www.guitarmonk.com. Moz has told us of some errors at our website viz.:
Especially duplicate content etc and whatever in addition you suggest should be good for the website for certain relative important keywords.

Hi Kumar,
Moz has a great list of companies that they recommend working with. You can check out the full list here

As I mentioned before I would recommend concentrating on reading the Moz Guide to SEO then systematically checking and improving your site in accordance with the advice. At that point ask any questions you have on here - this is a brilliant community with lots of clever people so you are sure to get some great help.
Reading the guide should remove this confusion and it might well bring up some more specific questions. At the minute I am snowed under and won't be able to jump on a call, but any specific questions or elements you are struggling with bring them to the community and ask. Try to be a specific as possible and give examples if you can this will allow people to help you. You are welcome to drop me a private message, but as I say there are lots of experienced people on here and getting more than one persons advice and experience is what makes this community invaluable. You also have members all over the world so you are likely to get a quicker response posting on here rather than waiting for one member to come online.
Hope this helps

Sure Matt,
I will read out the article links you shared. I know there is a symmetry of things to be rectified in the website related to 301 redirect would help.
Can you have a look at it for a while ?. Being candid, I am already confused on how to do it if someone can guide me for even 5 minutes and I am sure I can do it.
A Viber call can work :-).

Hi Kumar
Oh ok - that makes sense well there are lots of people that can help you on here - however I would consider having a go at some of it yourself as your site isn't huge and you could improve some of the basics before getting help. The resources above should really help and off course you have the community to turn to - just a suggestion to help you get the most for your money. As ever I guess this boils down to your time available and budget - good luck
Best Regards,
Matt

Hi
In terms of how you can handle duplicate content I would suggest having a look at this guide from Moz themselves - http://moz.com/learn/seo/duplicate-content - if you then have specific questions don't hesitate to come back and put them to the community - you are sure to find some great advice.
In terms of how you can improve your websites SEO I would suggest that you look at Moz's free guide to SEO - there are lots of things that you can do to get your websites ranking improving for keywords that you are targeting.
http://moz.com/beginners-guide-to-seo
I see your website is on WordPress - I would recommend that you consider installing the Yoast SEO plugin - it will help you optimise your site in terms of SEO. This will also help guide you on how to use it -

This is a guide from the creator.

Robots.txt assistance
I want to block all the inner archive news pages of my website in robots.txt - we don't have R&D capacity to set up rel=next/prev or create a central page that all inner pages would have a canonical back to, so this is the solution. The first page I want indexed reads:
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | theLotter
http://www.xxxx.news/?p=1 all subsequent pages that I want blocked because they don't contain any new content read:
http://www.xxxx.news/?p=2
http://www.xxxx.news/?p=3
etc.... There are currently 245 inner archived pages and I would like to set it up so that future pages will automatically be blocked since we are always writing new news pieces. Any advice about what code I should use for this? Thanks!0 -
SEO and former site
Hi, my client had a site built and hosted with Avvo but we now shut it down and are using a new server. My concern is that Avvo's internal link structure is causing SEO issues. For example, his site will list for "San Diego Criminal Defense Attorney", but is then removed for no reason. Far worse, while he had the AVVO site, it would never rank at all on Google. He's got great content, and no spammy links. This is the site: www.thesandiegocriminallawyer.com. Any thoughts of what I could do to disavow the AVVO pages that Google still has indexed? Does it matter? Or, is it simply a function of time? Thank you for your help.

Best place to submit an SEO RFP? Anyone interested in 60 hours of SEO work?
I have a small SEO project (~ 60 hours of work) that I would like to get some help with. It is spread out over the span of 4 to 6 months (2 to 3 hours of work a week with the help of 10 - 15 support staff hours per week), and if it goes well there is an opportunity to extend the project through the rest of 2014. Does anyone here want to see the RFP or have any recommendations on where I can submit this request to get the maximum exposure? Thanks!

Need Perfect URLs
I'm redesigning a site's structure from the ground up, and am having issues with the URLs. I'd love to have them be perfect, but kept finding conflicting advice online. 1. For my services blog, is it best to have it set up like www.example.com/services/keyword or
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | Stryde
www.example.com/keyword There seems to be conflicting advice as to keep it short and keep the keyword as far to the left as possible, but also that including the word services would help with long tail phrases and site organization. 2. For my blog section, is it best to have it set up like
www.example.com/blog/keyword or
www.example.com/keyword or
www.example.com/blog-post-title-with**-keyword**-in-it It's similar to the first question, but also adds the question of including the entire post title in the URL or just the keyword. Your help would be greatly appreciated!1 -
Combining 2 Websites
Any assistance/feedback is greatly appreciated. The scenario: We currently own two website, and we'd like to combine them and eliminate some expenses. Although the content is very similar in nature, it is not exact. www.KF.com that is managed by a third-party provider & www.KFA.com that is managed by the manufacturer of the product we sell. (*sites url's are not accurate) We have ended the contract of KF.com, however, this site has the best SERP/SEO.

We assume we'll take a hit, no matter what we do - however when it comes to SEO, but what is the right move to make? Do a domain "Transfer/Redirect" of KF to KFA.com or Do we simply change the KFA.com to KF.com? Still very much a rookie when it comes to this stuff. I do have the ability to SEO the KFA.com webiste. Hoping this makes sense - and apologize for the bad url's just not sure I can actually post the true addresses. Thanks in advance.0 -
Help needed for a 53 Page Internal Website Structure & Internal Linking
Hey all... I'm designing the structure for a website that has 53 pages. Can you take a look at the attached diagram and see if the website structure is ok? On the attached diagram I have numbered the pages from 1 to 53, with 1 being the most important home page - 2,3,4,5, being the next 4 important pages - 6,7,8... 15,16,17 being the 3rd set of important pages, and 18,19,20..... 51,52,53 being the last set of pages which are the easiest to rank. I have two questions: Is the website structure for this correct? I have made sure that all pages on the website are reachable. Considering the home page, and page number 2,3,4,5 are the most important pages - I am linking out to these pages from the the last set of pages (18,29,20...51,52,53). There are 36 pages in the last set - and out of this 36, from 24 of them I am linking back to home page and page number 2,3,4,5. The remaining 8 pages of the 36 will link back to pages 6,7,8...15,16,17. In total the most importnat page will have the following number of internal incoming links: Home Page : 25 Pages 2,3,4,5 : 25 Pages 6,7,8...15,16,17 : 4 Pages 18,19,20...51,52,53 : 1 Is this ok considering home page, and pages 2,3,4,5 are the most important? Or do you think I should divide and give more internal links to the other pages also? If you can share any inputs or suggestions to how I can improve this it will greatly help me. Also if you know any references for good guides to internal linking of websites greater that 50 pages please share them in the answers. Thank you all!
