Title, description modification?
-
If i make, modifications in my paget title and sescription, it's possible to will decrase my page visits? If yes, when will increase my page visits? thanks
-
No, Google will not penalize you but then those changes will appear only afer Google crawls and indexes the page. In case Google finds your title & meta data of low quality, it can fetch it from Yahoo! directory or DMOZ (if you have your entry). In case you don't have it, it will use the first lines or the most related content on your page.

Thanks for the answer. one more question: Google penalyse me if i made 3 title and description modification within a week? Thanks

The rule of thumb with your page title is to keep it focussed to the content of the page. However, it is impossible to say just what this will do for you (or how long it will take) as there are many other aspects that need to be taken into account as well. A well thought out page title is just one small part of your overall SEO page design.

Andy

If you page is performing well in terms of traffic then there is no point in modifying it. But if you are updating the content of the page or you want to re-write better title & description then you can definitely do it. Having keywords in meta description do not help but in title, yes.
People tend to stuff keywords in meta description thinking that it will help in rankings but it is not so. A well written description describing the content of the page is more helpful and clickable. On the other hand, keywords in title definitely helps.
If you re-write totally unrelated title and description, traffic will definitely fall but a better text will attract more traffic.

Would Renaming or HIding Posts With the Same Title Reduce My Spam Score?
On my blog (which is about writing), I have a recurring monthly feature where we all share excerpts of our work in progress. The title is always the same: "WIP Wednesday – Share What YOU Are Up To!" I've been doing this on the blog for about 4 years. Is the recurring title giving me a higher spam score? If so, will it help if I add the date on the end, as I've started to do? " WIP Wednesday – Share What YOU Are Up To! January 2020" etc.? Or would it help if I made all the posts from before 2020 private? Or does this actually have nothing to do with my spam score (which is 9%, and I'd like to bring it down)? Thanks!

Meta Title in Google does not match the HTML meta title I have coded in a site
I have a client site that is pulling a meta title that is not in his code. I am using Yoast for the titles and descriptions on this site. Not 100% sure why Google is not listing the title we have in place. Could the code be pulling from somewhere else? Is there a fix for this?

Duplicate Page Title
Wordpress Category pagination causes duplicate page title errors (ie. when there are so many posts in the category, it paginates them), is this a problem? Your tool is reporting it as a problem... but ProPhoto (my Wordpress provider say it is not a problem). Here are the 2 URL's with the same page title: http://www.lisagillphotography.co.uk/category/child-photography/ http://www.lisagillphotography.co.uk/category/child-photography/page/2/

Changing url in connection with meta title inconsistency
We run a site, which is a directory type one, where visitors can look for local businesses per city as well (at some point similar to the 'Yelp concept'). Now, we use www.example.com as the homepage, and the www.example.com/city1, where city1 is the capital of our country, is 301 redirected to the homepage, so this is your default setting. When you choose e.g city2, your url changes to www.example.com/city2, and the city value is stored in a cookie. Then, when you leave the session, and return to the site later on, you will see the homepage url, but with your previous choice of city (in case you let cookies be stored). My concern is, that the meta title always contains the chosen city name, so when you return to the website, and you previously used city2, you will now see the homepage url (which normally belongs to city1), but with the meta title of city2 or with any other previously chosen city. Does this mean a problem, and should I always use the correct url, which would be www.example.com/cityX, or this could not cause a problem for me? If it does, would you mind sharing me the exact problems as well? Thanks,

Titles for WP feeds and categories
SeoMoz comes back with duplicate title errors. However these duplicate errors are /feed pages in Wordpress. http://www.guardianpoolfence.com/choose-pool-fence/feed/ http://www.guardianpoolfence.com/how-to-choose-pool-fence/feed/ Why does this happening with only selected pages? I have many more posts but only these two are coming up with duplicate title errors. Also how do I set up meta descriptions for categories and archive pages for example www.guardianpoolfence.com/2011/07 I am not sure how these pages were created and how to give these individual titles. I mean, titles at all... Anyone?

How unique do product descriptions need to be?
I'm rewriting approximately 10,000 product descriptions, but for feasability it's useful to sometimes reuse some of the phrases that are there (and on other websites as they come straight from the manufacturer -eg. key features), how unique does the content have to be - are we talking 100%, 75%, 50% for it to be effective in google? Same question goes for the product title! Many thanks.
