Moz Local and Telephone Number Change
-
I've been using Moz Local for a couple of months now and I must say it taught me a thing or two about complexity management!
We recently acquired a new phone number for my business and I would like Moz Local assistance to make sure the new number gets populated out there in the wild. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
-
Richard we do not allow 800 numbers that our partners do not accept. If we allowed the 800 numbers we would the pass the details along to our partners and get rejected. Unfortunately at this time there is no override for this requirement as if we did bypass it your data would still be stuck in limbo.

I have a question regarding Moz Local and its causing me a big headache! My client has 2 locations and so I am trying to upload them via the template .csv file which I have ready to go. But the main telephone number field doesn’t allow 800 number and my client (as do most businesses) has a 855 number as the main contact. Is there a solution for this as I cannot upload them currently as it stops me with the 855 number. they have no other number apart from cell phones which they dont want to disclose!

Gettin a little frustrated with Moz wait times. Still my phone number is not updated. http://crystalcleareyecare.com , https://plus.google.com/+Crystalcleareyecare https://www.facebook.com/CrystalClearEyecare . The problem with this is that's there's no feedback from Moz to let you know is not right. Just says these sites are inconsistent.
Also, We've been busy partnering with other firms and have many more external links but The DA never changes - hasn't changed since Jan 27th. We've sent several emails over the last couple of months and the answer is always wait. And the wait is always more than about a week or two.
Please accept my feedback. I feel you have a great service both Local and Pro but the wait times and lack of additional info is making me question the ROI.

Thanks James and Ryan. Yes. it is the main phone number and I've changed the number to the new one in both Facebook and Google +.
-
Hi David - If this is the main phone number you can update it on Facebook and Google + and we will auto update this info within a week. If it is a secondary phone number as Ryan said you can add it as the Alt Phone on the .csv.
-
Hi David. Within Moz Local you'll want to use the Alt Phone tag... (from the help doc page: https://moz.com/local/help/documentation) Cheers!
Alt Phone (Optional)
An alternate phone number by which your business can be contacted. Please note that you must have a local contact number as your main phone number. Toll-free numbers may be included as alternate phone numbers.
Example:
(800) 555-5555

I am new to MOZ
I just purchased MOZ local for a client on a brand new location. I had already submitted the NAP to the big four google, yahoo, bing, yelp. I purchased the 99/year basic plan and now I am a bit confused. Will MOZ submit to the local directories in the network or out of the network that does not have a listing in place (Business New Address) so no listings exist besides the ones I mentioned. Also, it says it will send it to all four aggregators, is this true and how can I verify? Can someone explain what I should expect? YIKES, I hope this is not a dumb question for those MOZer gurus :). If it doesn't what did I just buy? A way to monitor Google? Please assist. I need to get NAP data out there for local directories for a customer. Should I have done this a different way? Thanks in advance,

How do I claim a YP listing with the wrong number listed?
I have a listing in Moz Local associated with a YP listing. Most items on the listing are correct but the number listed is not one of our numbers. When I try to claim the listing they want to call the number listed and give them a code. Of course we can't answer the phone because it doesn't ring on our end. How do I either change the number or claim the listing in another way?

“XXX Close” and “XXX Cl” showing up as inconsistencies of the same address in Moz Local checker
I was using the moz local check listing feature to check one of our clients whos addresses is “XXX Close” When i check listing in moz local i get 2 options of the site : with address “XXX Close” with address “XXX Cl” If i click on the “XXX Close” version it shows me listing where the address is written as “XXX Cl” as being inconsistent and visa versa if i click on the “XXX Cl” version. (this happens as some sites reformat the text, ive submitted them all as “XXX Close”) Is the something to be concerned about ? eg. could it effect rankings or does google understand that they are the same ?

What are the listings (citations) when you use Moz Local?
How do I find what the actual listings are when using Moz Local? I want to add more citations for my clients and don't want to create duplicates. _There are five main aggregators of location data that send information to local search engines: Infogroup, Neustar Localeze, Acxiom, and Factual and Foursquare. Is the info we are giving in Moz Local_* In the Dashboard...it show that "35 listings reach". but what are the actual listings? Do I need to use Whitespark to see what the actual listings are? Currently right now, I can only see like 18 listings. Any insight? Regards, Benny

Why is MOZ Local not finding any of my citations?
I ran a new client through the Moz Local Check My Listing and got this: It looks like your business wasn't found on any major search engines. My client's website and Google Plus page have been live for over a month and he is listed in almost 90 business directories; all verified, live listings. Both his Yelp and Home Advisor profiles show well in search as does his website in organic so I know Google is picking up on the business. Checked all the simple stuff like correct spelling, url, etc. Any thoughts? Is this just a matter of time? If so, how long will it take MOZ to find a new listing usually? I see there is a MOZ index update scheduled for the 28th. Should I run it again after that? Regards, Dino

What do I do if Moz Local is pulling the wrong business citation?
Hi everyone, I have several business listings that I manage on Moz Local, and a lot of them have similar names. I'm running into an issue where Moz Local is pulling a citation (Ex. Google+, YP, Superpages) for the wrong business, and it is affecting my listing score. Has anyone else ever run into this issue? What did you do about it? Thanks in advance for your help!
