Hi John
There's a couple of ways you can do this...
-
Login into Google Analytics
-
Select the profile you want to check
-
Select the date range
-
In your left sidebar menu, goto "Acquisition" - click it
-
Go down to All Traffic - click it
-
Go down to Channels - click it
-
Above your graph, you'll see a box that says "All Sessions" above your graph - click it
-
Learn more about Segments here
-
A box will appear with a list called Segment Name
-
Scroll down to, or search in the box, "Mobile Traffic"
-
Click "Apply"
-
Now, where it says "All Sessions", there is a carrot down button in the upper right hand corner
-
Click it and select "Remove"
-
You should only have "Mobile Traffic" as your segment
-
From here you can see your Mobile organic performance, as well as other channels, including Direct
-
From there, you can also, in your left sidebar menu, goto "Acquisition" - click it
-
Go down to Campaigns - click it
-
Go down to Organic Keywords - click it
You can also do this...
-
In your left sidebar menu, goto "Audience" - click it
-
Goto Mobile - click it
-
Goto Overview - click it
-
Click "Advanced" above "Conversions"
-
In the box that appears, type "mobile" - click apply
-
Then, above "Device Category" click "Secondary Dimension"
-
Type in "Medium" - click it
-
Then, go to "Edit" above "Conversions" in your table
-
Click "+Add a dimension or metric"
-
Type in "Medium"
-
In the box that appears next to it, type "organic"
-
Click "Apply"
-
From here you can see your Mobile organic performance
-
If you do this off of the Segment you set up previously, you shouldn't have to set up those filters
Hopefully this helps! I would check out the Google Analytics Academy - particularly Digtial Analytics Fundamentals & Google Analytics Platform Principles. Both are great resources and help immensely with understanding how to use Analytics to find the data you need.

Hi John,
First click on Audience=>> Mobile ==> Overview on left hand side in GA. After Choose 'Direct traffic' segment from segment
list. You will get direct traffic data. For Search engine data select 'search traffic' from segment list.
Hope this helps
Thanks

Direct Traffic from Ashburn, VA
We've seen a huge spike in traffic form Ashburn, VA every Monday. It's wrecking our analytics. I don't want to create a filter based on location because we should receive legitimate traffic from that location. I see there are a few other identifiers that make me think I could add a filter for just those items (iOS 5, Safari). Does anyone have a current best-practice for this type of problem? Tx!

Why do I have a lot of direct traffic from MSN and Yahoo with 100% bounce rate?
For MSN I have about 8000 hits of one page and a 100% bounce rate. In the last month I have about 400 hits from Yahoo with a 100% bounce rate. Msn is all different pages, while Yahoo is all the home page. What would cause this?

Why is my traffic dropping so hard?
Hi guys, My traffic has been dropping pretty hard from just over 3k to around 250 in the last few days. I've ran a few tests using Google webmaster tools and Open Site Explorer, as well as answering a pretty cool quiz that was created by an SEO to determine if I'm the victim of any Google updates etc, and everything is looking okay... What do you think could be causing this issue? We're only just gearing up to start on a SEO campaign. At the moment no SEO is being done other than just casual blogging. CcZoXP7.png

Large Drop in Direct Traffic
We recently experienced a large drop in direct traffic. Search and referral traffic remained steady but direct traffic dropped by over half. I'm having trouble pinpointing what would have caused this drop. Any ideas or suggestions for investigating the cause in a drop of direct traffic?

Why are we not seeing similar traffic patterns in a new market?
Good afternoon! We have a large real estate site with over 400,000 urls. We do pretty well with long-tailed search terms (like addresses--- 123 Main Street, Atlanta GA) so we get a decent amount of traffic (3,500-4,000 uniques a day). 2 months ago we opened up in a new market (Nashville) and hoped to see similar traffic for that market after a few of months, but so far we haven't. In fact, we only get about 200 visits a day. I can't seem to figure out why it's taking so long for us to generate similar traffic in Nashville that we see in Atlanta. All of the Nashville properties are in our sitemap and are being indexed by Google. Any ideas why we aren't seeing similar effects? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide! David
