HVAC & Air Conditioning - 1 page of 2 ?

Hello all!
This has been an on going issue for us trying to rank an air conditioning repair company. The 2 strongest keywords for us are both HVAC Repair and Air Conditioning Repair. The main question is....
Should this be 1 landing page or 2? I think google may recognize HVAC and Air Conditioning as the same thing, because for some crazy reason my air conditioning repair page ranks for the keyword HVAC repair. My HVAC repair page is actually nowhere to be found.
I am coming across the same issue with other keywords like HVAC service , and Air Conditioning Service. Or HVAC Maintenance and Air Conditioning maintenance.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

While an HVAC is an air conditioner, I feel you should have two landing pages - one for HVAC and the other for the genreral air conditioning repair. Reason being - you probably do general air conditioner repair and can build out content that speaks to that content:
- Here are the type of air conditioners we work on
- Here are our warranties
- Here are the work we do
- Here are the work we don't do
- Here are our experience
- Here are some testimonies
- Schedule an appointment
With the HVAC page, you can do product specific content in the same vein:
- Here are models we work on
- Here are models we don't work on
- Here are our warranties
- Here are brochures for specific HVAC models
- Here are buying guides
- etc.
With creating product specific pages, with unique content for that product, you are also able to link off from the air conditioner page. So, "Hey, we do air conditioning repair and here is all of our information for that. By the way! If you have a specific model or brand air conditioner, here is a dedicated page for that product."
By doing product specific pages, you can also see what brands/models get the most interaction and what products get the most appointment requests for maintenance. This can also help you (if you sell air conditioners) decide your warranties, set up maintenance plans for customers, discounts, and keep in touch with clients for ongoing maintenance. But most importantly - you have dedicated information for brands and products that goes into more detail about the work you do for that product, and why you're the only option for the customer.
I am being pretty grandiose here, but I believe having dedicated brand pages helps pick up search for those specific brand repair searches, especially at the local level. EGOL had a great reply to a question earlier this week that helps explain. The more relevant information, the better. Also, make sure your on-site SEO, internal linking, local seo, and information architecture is on point!

Ratings pages are Duplicate Content
This brought up another question. should the review page (which now has a canonical to the item page) be Index,follow? My item review pages are showing up with Duplicate Content errors in MOZ. Duplicate Page Content on Empty Manufacturer Pages
I work for an internet retailer that specializes in pet supplies and medications. I was going through the Crawl Diagnostics for our website, and I saw in the Duplicate Page Content section that some of our manufacturer pages were getting flagged. The way our site is set up is that when products are discontinued we mark them as discontinued and use 301 redirects to redirect their URLs to other relevant products, brands, or our homepage. We do the same thing with brand and manufacturer pages if all of their products are discontinued. 90% of the time, this is a manual process. However, the other 10% of the time certain products come and go automatically as part of our inventory system with one of our fulfillment partners. This can sometimes create empty manufacturer pages. I can't redirect these empty pages because there's a chance that products will be brought back in stock and the page will be populated again. What can we do so that these pages won't get marked as duplicates while they're empty? Write unique short descriptions about the companies? Would the placement of these short descriptions matter--top of the page under the category name vs bottom of the page underneath where the products would go? The links in the left sidebar, top, and in the footer our part of our site architecture, so those are always going to be the same. Dupelicate content home page and custom page question
I am working on a website that got hit by the penguin update. Didn't get hit terribly bad, but dropped from number one to number 9. As I'm going through the pages, the theme and content is a mess. To give an example, say the site is about custom colored marbles. The main page content covers custom colored marbles, custom promotional marbles, custom glass marbles, etc. Custom colored marbles is mentioned and covered on all pages, which I am going back and trying to make each page theme specific. There is also a custom page, so I am at a cross roads on how best to employ the focus of the custom page and the home page. I am thinking the home page should emphasize colored marbles, and the custom page should emphasize custom colored marbles. My fear is that making such a drastic change will bounce the site completely off front page and that it will take time for the custom page to come up in rankings. AS it stands now I am confused as to how it even ranks on first page as there's two pages with custom colored marbles emphasis. Id like to clean this up as much as possible so there are no big hits with future google updates, but I don't want the site to drop off either as that would be hard to explain to the owner. Yeah, we are cleaning up your site and making it google compliant and in so doing you no longer rank on first page. That won't put food on the table. Thanks for any advise on this.

Tilde + On-page Optimization
I'm analyzing my Hispanic site www.escolares.net, and I noticed that on-page optimization rank with an F pages using a tilde in target keywords. Does anybody know if SeoMoz software can completely understand in their analysis special characters as tildes? Cristian Majluf

Page without content
Hey Everyone, I've started an SEO On Page analysis for a web site and I've found a lot of duplicate content and useless pages. What do I have to do? Delete this useless page, redirect or do canonical tag? If I have to delete what is the best way to do? Should I use GWT to delete? or just delete from the server? More than 100 internal links from a page
Hi, we have been developing our new site and improving the internal linking for 2 reasons, 1 to improve spidering and 2 to up sell more to customers. The error reports from SEOMoz are showing our biggest problem is too many internal links from 2000+ pages. How much of an impact does it have by having say 180 internal links compared to say 99 on a page? Our website has been moving up the SERPs so should i worry about it or should I ignore the warnings and continue with the menu system and internal linking we have in place already? Thanks

Formatting issues WordPress 3.1.2
The and _formatting tags format the text in the WYSIWYG editor but not in the browser (I've tried in Firefox and Internet Explorer. It doesn't help if I add non depreciate Html _and Is this a theme Issue? Is there a way to fix it? Does anyone know why and are added instead of and ?__

Ranking on page 5 for a 1% difficulty keyword
Hello mozers, I am going crazy over this. I have designed a new site www.smh.cz. The company name / kw is unique (Smolikova Mikulas Hendrich), but it appears on page 5 on Google.

Yahoo and Bing is fine (in top 3 positions). All the on-page factors are ok too.
All the smh.cz pages are indexed on Google. We have done a 301 redirect of two other domains (sm-legal.cz and smm-partners.cz) which were websites for the firms prior to forming a new one. I am scratching my head over what does Google dislike so much. Any thoughts? Can the smh.cz domain - which previously had some dodgy insurance content - be the reason? Your help is much appreciated.
