Hello, I need some help: Organic Traffic going down
-
Hello,
I need some help, i am trying to figure out why my Organic traffic has gone down so much in the last six months and trying to find a solution, but I am at a lost as to what i should be looking to see how to fix it. http://goo.gl/arwlON
I hope you can help or give me some ideas as to why. Thank you in advance.

Good suggestions. Let me do that research and i will get back to you. Thank you!

Patrick's explanation is definitely plausible, but it can be really tough to tell without a lot more data. Did you see a corresponding drop in rankings across keywords along with the organic traffic drop? Have you lost traffic only for specific pages or across the board? Did your total traffic drop as well, or did the organic traffic fall into other buckets (like direct or referral, which could indicate an attribution issue)?
The more you can segment this loss, the better. If you're seeing ranking drops across many keywords that mirror the organic traffic loss, and you've got a lot of link profile issues, Penguin is certainly a reasonable possibility.

Hi Patrick,
Thank you for your suggestions and I will be starting in removing those links that are linking to the website as they are not trustful and not relevant to the content we write. Hopefully that gets resolved and the organic traffic returns. I hope you don't mind if I keep bugging you.
Thank you

Hi there
Judging by your organic traffic performance (attached), it seems your dip corresponds (potentially) with Penguin 3.0 in October 2014.
Running your site through Majestic and OSE, it does seem like a good chunk of your links appear to be obtained through SEO link building tactics.
I would go through a backlink audit - what needs to be removed / disavowed?
The best way to define a bad link is to use your own intuition and common sense:
- Does this link help my website?
- Is this link relevant to my website?
- Would I trust this site (that's linking to me) if I landed on it?
- Is the website or content in which I am being linked from topically relevant to my website?
- If you check metrics - does anything about the metrics (domain authority, page authority,Majestic, SEMRush traffic/ranking data, etc) make me feel uneasy?
Hope this perspective helps a bit - good luck!

Need Some Quality Vs. Quantity SEO Advice
We have a gallery here with our main categories of patches. https://www.stadriemblems.com/gallery/ If you click on one, say Fire Patches, you'll be taken to a page of just fire patches. https://www.stadriemblems.com/fire-patches/ But here's the kicker: If you notice of the fire patch page, there are also sub-categories to that. So if you click on say, Fire Rescue, you get taken one level deeper. https://www.stadriemblems.com/fire-patches/fire-rescue-patches/ I'm redoing this entire site (a project over five years overdue), and I'm wondering if it's really worth it to keep these three-level deep sub pages. I originally created them with long tail SEO in mind, making us be the only ones who come up when people search for very specific patches. But it's a big undertaking to redo all of them, and are they really adding any value?

URL structure of the page: Does this one need to contain the most important keyword for better SEO?
Hi everyone, I’m trying to get "air-conditioner-repair.html" to rank higher for the keyword "air conditioner los angeles". I am wondering whether or not I should change URL to "air-conditioner-los-angeles-repair.html" to get better results? Will be thankful very much for any advise you can offer!

Will German meta data help an English USA-based site get found in Germany?
I think I already know the answer to this, but I'd love a second opinion. If you add German meta data to some web pages will it help those pages turn up in search results in Germany?I'm assuming not. It's an English, USA based site, doing well here for English searches - and I don't want to mess that up. A German site is being planned, but this client is hoping the English site could be found in the meantime. ~Caro

Help an SEO-DUMMY : ) Established hyphenated domain...redirect?!...new domain?!
Hello, everybody. I am definitely not an SEO specialist. My family owns a transportation business (since 2010) and i am the one responsible for the website (until we find a good SEO company). My question: Several years ago i did not know much about SEO and have chosen a domain name www.airporttransportation-limo.com (it is not the actual domain...just an example...i'm not sure if i can post the real website here) and another domain that is just the name of our company (it also has hyphen in it). Both websites are still doing good and we receive quite a bit of traffic, but i read more an more about how hyphenated domains and domains with more then two worlds can be bad for your SEO/business/traffic. I feel like the websites are stuck and not moving up any more..could that be because of the hyphens? I registered another domain that is the name of our company (which is well known by now) without any hyphens. Now i have no idea what to do. Should i redirect both old domains (old websites are different and do not have duplicate content) to the new one, or should i just redirect the old domain (just the name of our company with hyphen) to a new one (without hyphen) and leave the www.airportransportation-limo.com as is... Or maybe i should register another domain without any hyphens (two words only) and redirect the www.airporttransportation-limo.com to it... I am very nervous to make any changes and loose all the traffic. My family will kill me. Please help! I'm lost!
