Page Authority

MOZ will not recognize links to my webpage. I recently remodeled one of my pages, I understand that it is a new page and I currently don't have external links pointing to that page, but I do have internal links (i e. the category page before it) pointing to this page. Any thoughts?

Hi there! I'm sorry your links aren't showing up in Open Site Explorer yet. I'll try to explain a few reasons why this might be happening:
There are two types of link data we capture: external and internal linking pages. In order for us to discover backlinks to your site, we need to crawl the sites and pages linking to you. Once we can find those links, we will then be able to crawl your site to find pages you link to and so forth.
If you don't see any internal links to your page, make sure we're not blocked from crawling this URL or site. If our web crawlers are blocked from crawling certain pages (i.e., with "noindex" or Robots.txt), they may not be included in the index.
For some more in-depth info, here's how we compile our index:
- We grab the most recent index. - We take the top 10 billion URLs with the highest MozRank (with a fixed limit on some of the larger domains). - We start crawling from the top down until we've crawled 90,000,000,000 pages (which is about 35% the amount in Google's index).
So, if the site is not linked to by one of these seed URLs (or one of the URLs linked to by them in the next update) then it won't show up in our index.
Other tools, such as Webmaster Tools, Ahrefs, and Majestic will alway show more link data as they target the quantity of links, while OSE focuses more on quality and Domain Authority. It’s best to use all the tools you can to obtain a full backlink profile; I've got a post here that details why and how that is!
Mozscape focuses on a breadth-first approach. Therefore we almost always have content from the homepage of websites, externally linked-to pages, and pages higher up in a site's information hierarchy. However, deep pages that are buried beneath many layers of navigation are sometimes missed and it may be several index updates before we catch all of these.
We update once a month and you can view the next scheduled update here: http://moz.com/products/api/updates
Hope this helps provide some clarity. Please let me know if you have any questions - thank you!
Kevin

Why are recently deleted pages still appearing in the latest MOZ crawl?
Newbie, so please forgive!! OK, so I'm doing my 1st site optimization. It is reporting errors from pages that were deleted a couple of days ago. And I JUST signed up today. Where is this info coming from? Thanks, Billy

Https in Top Pages Report
Our site migrated to https a year ago but when I ran the Top Pages report, it's listing only http URLs. 1. Why is it only listing http URLs? 2. I'm interested to see which ones 301 redirects to https and which are 200. How can I do this? Thanks!

Why do my spammy backlinks still appear on my Open Site Explorer page after removal?
I used the organic spam backlink removal tactic of emailing owners of sites of spam rank 7 or higher on my page. It has been weeks since many of the harmful links were removed, yet they remain listed on my Open site Explorer page. My fear is that somehow simply getting these links removed doesn't exempt me from the potential to be penalized by Google crawlers. Does it take longer than a few weeks for these links to disappear from the Open Site Explorer, or is there something else I need to be doing? Any and all advice appreciated. Ben

Could Spam Analysis significantly lower domain authority?
I use Open Site Explorer to track my site's rankings weekly, and during the first week of June, we found that our domain authority had dropped 5 points after several months of being higher than that score. The only thing that was significantly different, in our business and in Moz, from the week before was the introduction of the new Spam Analysis tool. Am I right to possibly attribute the drop in domain authority to an update on Moz's end? And anyone has troubleshooting advice otherwise, I'd be all ears. Thanks!

Page Authority Migration
PageA.html has a lot of links and has a Page Authority score. It is 301 redirected to PageB.html and eventually in OSE this also accumulates a Page Authority score. Is there a reason why PageA.html many months/years after continues to have a Page Authority when it is expected that its Authority signals have migrated (with any dampening effect etc) across to PageB.html.
