Detected duplicate content with canonical applied
-
Dear all,
We are getting duplicate content from items which have a canonical applied.
This error is coming in every report and we have no way to mark an error as revviwed what it takes double time for us to check it again. Is there any solution for this, are we doing something wrong??? -
Hi there!
It's definitely possible for a page to be correctly flagged as duplicate content while a canonical tag is applied. This typically happens in cases where the pages are being seen as duplicates of each other, but are canonicalized to different pages. If you'd like to see a more specific example of where this is occurring on your site, I'd be happy to talk through it with you through a private message to help@moz.com :). I hope this helps to explain!

Hi Jose,
The canonical "Warning" is a notification. Tools cannot tell which is the original page, but can alert you that you have a canonical link on the specific URL.
With this report and a little Excel work you can double-check your canonical implementation.
Greetings, Keszi

Use a National Brands name in your content
Moz Page Optimizer - content suggestions offer national name brands as KW content to rank higher. I can easily write it into our copy but is it ethical, even with a statement like: "This is not a Fathead product" of "the same as the Fatheads seen on TV" I say no, but curious to get my Mozzers feedback KJr

How Do You Deal With Duplicate Content On A Retail Site
Hi Guys We make custom portfolios and boxes and every time we have a Moz site crawl, Rogerbot always returns a number of Duplicate Content Issues relating to different products. As per the image below (which I hope is visible?!) Rogerbot has flagged duplicate content onto one product that relates to 5 other different products. For instance there is duplicate content for an A4 Leather Portfolio and an A3 Leather Portfolio and an 11"x17" Leather Portfolio. I can't redirect or canonicalise to just the A4 Portfolio as they are all individually different products. The information on each page although similar, is relevant to each of the products, so rewriting a different blurb on each product page, will not be user friendly for our customers. I could ignore the duplicate content issues, but then that isn't good practise (and also makes for a very unsatisfactory looking Dashboard!) Any ideas?? Nick wzQLgBl

Pagination & Duplicate Page Title
I was under the impression that pagination resolved duplicate page title issues with Google, but Moz is flagging them up as duplicates. Is this just a case of Moz not being able to understand pagination or am I missing something? i.e. correctly formatted pagination: http://thespacecollective.com/space-memorabilia/page/4

Sufficient Words in Content error, despite having more than 300 words
My client has just moved to a new website, and I receive "Sufficient Words in Content" error over all website pages , although there are much more than 300 words in those pages. for example: https://www.assuta.co.il/category/assuta_sperm_bank/ https://www.assuta.co.il/category/international_bank_sperm_donor/ I also see warnings for "Exact Keyword Used in Document at Least Once" although there is use of them in the pages.. The question is why can't MOZ crawler see the pages contents?

Moz Crawl Canonicals and Duplicates
Hi all, I am using Moz Crawl to analyze some sites I am having to optimize.
Link Explorer | | Eurasmus.com
I keep seeing many of my pages detected as duplicate content when they have the rel=canonical applied. Example: www.spain-internship.com/zh-CN/blog-by-aaron
I have seen that in other sites. Of course I understand that Moz is not perfect but, is there a known issue or am I doing something wrong with the canonicals? Regards,0 -
Why won't Open Site Explorer detect inbound links from big name websites?
I understand smaller, spammy sites woudn't get indexed, but some of the websites linking to mine have high domain authorities. The website is a parked subdomain.

Open Site Explorer not detecting linking domain on my site
So I was using Open Site Explorer to analyze my domain authority and page authority as can be seen here. My site has been covered by some press and in the article it actually links my site. Some of the articles can be seen on, here, here, and here. Any idea why none of these articles are detected as a linking domain to my site? Is there something that I am doing wrong?
