Page grader says we are keyword stuffing but we arn't. Page source shows different story.

Hi community!
We have just run a page grader for the keyword 'LED Bulbs' on whichledlight.com and it comes up that we are keyword stuffing!
However, a brief look at the source for the homepage and there's only 6 times that
LED Bulbs
pops up.We do have the non plural version of the word 'LED Bulb' on the page 27 times.. do we think that would contribute to the keyword stuffing?
Thanks!!

There are already a lot of good answers here, so I just wanted to jump in and clarify a few points about our software specifically.
- We don't use a cached version of your site from Google, we crawl the pages directly each week with our own crawler to get the data for your updates. If you make changes between the updates, you should see these reflected in the data the next week.
- In the campaigns, we do count both the plural and singular versions of the keyword because the major search engines see these as the same, as well. If you do a search for LED Bulbs in Google, it pulls up results for both the singular and plural version of that term, so we want to reflect that in our reports. (Please note that the current version of the stand-alone research tool does not count plural and singular as the same term.)
- The on-page reports are just a suggestion based on our experience and best practices. Even though you may have 27 instances of a keyword in your code, that doesn't mean you won't rank well. You would need to look at all of the factors of the report and how you are rankin and then make a decision that best fits your specific SEO and marketing strategy. I do think Zoe Rigley's advice here is really great in regard to on-page strategy.
I hope this is helpful! Please let me know if I can help you with anything else.

Hi,
It's also my understanding that Moz checks its own version, so wait for the re-crawl report email for that project and you should be able to see your changes!
You can also use the on-demand report.

Try this to understand what Moz is seeing.
Go to Google and search site:whichledlight.com
Push the dropdown arrow next to your listing and press "Cached."
On this page, press "view source."
Search (Ctrl+F) for:
- bulb
- light
- LED
See the issue?

It is my understanding it checks its own version and it does this weekly (Moz staff please chime in to correct and/or clarify further). You can run a page report "on the fly" using Moz as well. Update your page then run the grader to see the changes.

what about MOZ. Does it crawl/look at the google cached site or will it check its own version...
it's just we updated the site not long ago and I don't know wether MOZ has picked up the changes yet -
Hi,
I'd say yes- even 6 times might be too much if your page text isn't that long. I'd reduce the amount of times you say that keyword, ensure you have synonyms, and above all, make the text user-friendly and readable. Make sure that the page answers the user's questions as quickly as possible, you use header tags and paragraphs, and break it up with some images/other useful information.
Remember that the quantity of keywords and keyword density are less and less important, as long as you have the keyword in the title, H1 and 2-3 times throughout the body content (a few more as relevant if the text is quite long). The Moz beginner guide to SEO discusses common myths, and one of them is keyword density- it's very insightful, I'd recommend reading it!
Hope this helps,
Zoe

Duplicate Content - But it isn't!
Hi All, I have a site that releases alerts for particular problem/events/happenings. Due to legal stuff we keep the majority of the content the same on each of these event pages. The URLs are all different but it keeps coming back as duplicate content. The canonical tag is not right (i dont think for this) egs http://www.holidaytravelwatch.com/alerts/call-to-arms/egypt/coral-sea-waterworld-resort-sharm-el-sheikh-egypt-holiday-complaints-july-2014 http://www.holidaytravelwatch.com/alerts/call-to-arms/egypt/hotel-concorde-el-salam-sharm-el-sheikh-egypt-holiday-complaints-may-2014

? Keyword stuffing
I have a new website. Did "on page grading". Although the page received a grade of A the only area that did not receive a check mark was key word stuffing. It recommended I not use keyword more that 15 times but I only counted 11 uses of the key phrase "breast augmentation." However the phrase is also used in alt tag of images which would take me over 15. Are alt tag on images counted and is this a concern? I tried to use "augmentation mammaplasty" to reduce the use of the phrase "breast augmentation" but will use of "augmentation" and "breast" alone also cause the count to increase for the phrase "breast augmentation"

Why Can't I Get Indexed?
I cannot seem to get my website indexed by Google! I submitted the sitemap using Google WMT about a month ago but only one page is being indexed. There are very few backlinks to the site, so I don't believe there are any penalties due to over-optimization that would prevent indexing. Also, my robots.txt file is properly configured and is not preventing any pages from being crawled. I've tried using the "Fetch as Google" settings in WMT with no luck. Any ideas?

How to view all 'followed internal links' on a page
I am trying to view all the followed internal links on a few pages of my website. The MOZ toolbar just gives me the total number of internal followed links. What is the best way to actually see all the internal links that are followed by the google bot from any particular page? Thanks in advance.

Keyword stuffing - is it true?
Hi, I use On-Page Report Card for this url (the web is in Bulgarian) : http://cholakovit.com My keyword is in Bulgarian - "уеб дизайн" (which means "web design". It shows me that my keywords is: " Total Keyword Usage for this Page = 5875 "I cannot find so many instances of this keyword. Only 13 uses for "уеб" and 10 for "дизайн" in the whole page code. Is there an error in the report? When I search the English version -http://cholakovit.com/enwhich is almost the same but translated in English of the page for the key phrase "web design" it shows only "Total Keyword Usage for this Page = 8"

Using fathead page keywords for directories and as a red herring to competitors
I'm fairly new to SEO and I have been reading a lot on here and the SEOmoz guides over the last few days, finding it very interesting. I am wondering about page keywords, I read that the engines no longer use them. In this thread they say they still use them because of directories. http://www.seomoz.org/ugc/why-i-still-use-meta-keywords#new-comment So I was wondering, because directories are always smaller scale than search engines would keywords that are normally high competition have more clout in them? If so then using them could be misleading to competition if they think they are the actual keywords? or might this contradict between your actual chosen keywords in the directories backlink anchor text or something?

Pages that show in Open Site Explorer that show as 404's in search
When I use Site Explorer to find our Top Pages there are a whole series of pages like this: http://www.nile-cruises-4u.co.uk/mybestbets/mybestbets-culture.html which I think were created when we had a Bulletin Board on the site. Although they are showing in the Top Pages results when you visit the page you get the following error message: HTTP Error 404.0 - Not Found The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. What implications result from these pages still showing in results and what action should we take without messing up our search rankings? Any advice would be gratefully received.
