IP and SEO
-
We have a lot sites we've built sitting on the same IP as our web site. Given that a lot of web companies rely quite heavily on the backlinks they get from their clients (some rather dubious footer links are common in this space), are we getting the most out of these valuable backlinks by sharing the same IP?

Hi there.
Exactly same IP? or same C-Block?
I would recommend having different IPs if possible, also do keep your and client's websites on several different hosting servers so if one of them goes down, all of your websites are dead at the same time - you'll save yourself lots of pain.
As for how valuable those backlinks are - I'd say as long as you're not using spammy techniques (lots of footer links, all of them are follow, to the same page, with the same anchor text etc), you will be fine. Of course, it would be nice to have every single client website with different C-block, but in real world it's close to impossible.
Hope this helps.

I have never heard of search engines applying the link value of sites on shared hosting to the other domains on that IP. Sorry, but I doubt you are getting any value from it.

Can affiliate links benefit or hurt my seo?
I have just signed up with a company to do affiliate marketing for my site. I am now in the process of reaching out to publishers and seeing who will publish my link on their site. Is there any benefit in terms of seo for having these links, and can there be any potential downside to these links as well?

Does adding relevant keywords to social postings help with SEO?
I was doing some research on social postings and SEO and couldn't really find the answer to my question. Would adding in SEO keywords help with my site's relevancy or would it just help boost my site because of backlinking? For example if I were to add a new Facebook post "Check out these great new blue widgets " help more than "Check out these new products "? Thanks!

Purchasing local domains for SEO
Hi, I'm considering buying domains to help build our SEO traffic. But, I'm looking for some advice on whether or not this can hurt us. For example, if our site is www.brandname.com and the site is all about online education, would it beneficial for us to purchase a local domain like education.boston.com and optimize with unique content so we can point back to our own site (if "education boston" is a high volume keyword)? Thanks!

Has Anyone used Eyeflow SEO out of Pittsburgh
We are looking to have a third party do some white hat link building for us because we currently do not have the resources to do so in house and do not want to rush into a hire. We are looking at eyeflow because they are local to our area and we would have the opportunity to personally see how they do things. Has anyone had any experience with them, or have any suggestions for things to ask or be weary of? Thanks

How to focus SEO efforts on a single country?
I hope this one isn't too obvious a question to ask, as I'm sure it's been asked before. However - I'm considering a new site which would be focussed entirely on a UK market. US and other world traffic would be effectively useless. Using social media and standard linkbuilding techniques, how do I focus my efforts on the UK market? Getting links from .co.uk, I guess - what else? Or is it just "SEO generally and some of it'll be for the UK"?

Linking from different IP, but same server, how much it can hurt?
Example, Have a site on 173.194.33.51 and site on 173.194.33.52, same server, different IP addresses, same network subnet. Make one link from site residing on 173.194.33.51 to site on 173.194.33.52 Can this hurt? Can it be beneficial if site on 173.194.33.55 has good PR?
