Linking to Your Site: Search Console Update
-
After links have been removed from site a to site b.
How long will it take until site b will see it in the webmaster tools that the links to his site are no longer there?
-
Moreover, we have seen up to a 3 week lag between the time at which Google crawls a page to discover a dropped link and then actually removes that link from GSC data. So, basically it works like this...
1. You remove link from page...
2. Google re-crawls page... (can take hours to months depending on frequency of re-indexing by Google)
3. Googel removes link from Google Search Console (can take days to 3 weeks) -
Google remembers links for a long time. Sometimes a month to many months.
Junk links to weak pages can persist for a very long time because they are the least frequently crawled.

Spammy links redirecting to homepage of site -
Hey guys, I'm auditing a website at the moment and Moz is showing a few spammy links linking to it. The problem is these domains are all 301 redirecting to the domain I'm auditing. Let's say I'm auditing Site A. Site B is been flagged in Moz OSE with 12 spam flags. When I try to open Site B in a browser, it redirects back to Site A. What's the best thing to do, here? Disavowing domains redirecting to the site is surely a bad idea? Cheers.

What will the SECOND link from a site do for me
Say I have an opportunity to get another link from a high authority site that has already linked an important article from me (a page I REALLY want to rank well). Now a month later, they are interviewing me and asking what I'd like to link. I have plenty of good content I can offer, but I really want that page they already linked to to climb a bit in the rankings. So my question is, how is that second link best spent? Would linking to the same page give it a boost? Or does Google see it as "oh. Another link from the same domain. Yippee." Would that link do more for a different page on my site at this point?

Is there value in consistently getting a link from a high DA sites? For example, consistently posting on a blog monthly rather then only doing it once and getting a link/being done with it. Could you list the pros of consistently getting links on high DA sites?

How many nofollow links should we build to have a natural link profile
Hi guys, As with many link builders we have been building lots of dofollow links for our site, so many that mainly our incoming links are dofollow. Some pages have 99.5% dofollow external links which I know is not very natural. In your experience in terms of percentage how much should you have in terms of nofollow external links in your link profile. I noticed SEOMoz has about 12-13% nofollow external links, shall I go with this figure? Thanks guys. David
