Schema.org Data Appears on Website
-
Hello Moz World,
I would like to incorporate Schema Data onto my website. My website has Meta tags in the of the document, which incorporates our keywords. And, in the footer, I have my businesses address, logo and other relevant information. Everything flows because it is stylized using CSS. When I input the schema.org data it appears on the website as text w/ a hyperlink. See Code:
My Company
DESCRIPTION.STREET
CITY
STATE
ZIP
United States
Phone: NUMBERI've tried to put it inside the head, body & footer of the HTML code. I want my website to show up properly through Google Structured Data Testing Tool however, I don't want the text to show up on my website not stylized. It sticks out like a soar thumb no matter where I incorporate it. My questions are; Should I even bother with Schema.org? And, is there a way to incorporate it into my website so it does not show up and Google can still pull it up?
Thanks ahead of time for all of the awesome responses!

Hello Peter,
I ended up using JSON-LD, I found someone having the same issues on a Webmaster Forum and another member referred him to a JSON-LD Markup Generator for Schema.org. I threw the code into my header, and checked it with Google Structured Data Tester. Everything Checked out! Thank You for your time and input.

Hello Gyorgy,
I was going to use Google Tag Manager as a last resort. I know Google supports a majority of searches through search engines, but I wanted all of the search engines to be able to read the Schema Data. I ended up creating a script using JSON-LD. Much easier, I used this generator. Thank you for your input!

Very Helpful! Thank you for your input Kristen.

You also can use JSON-LD to add this in site w/o messing with HTML. Just refer to their documentation because it can be placed everywhere - in HEAD or in BODY but wasn't visible.

Hi Will
I use Google Tag Manager to add structured data to the website. With GTM, the structured markup won't be in the source code and won't be seen in the browser.
The Google Structured Data Testing Tool picks up the local markup from GTM nicely.

Any Tips for Reviving Old Websites?
Hi, I have a series of websites that have been offline for seven years. Do you guys have any tips that might help restore them to their former SERPs glory? Nothing about the sites themselves has changes since they went offline. Same domains, same content, and only a different server. What has changed is the SERPs landscape. I've noticed competitive terms that these sites used to rank on the first page for with far more results now. I have also noticed some terms result in what seems like a thesaurus similar language results from traditionally more authoritative websites instead of the exact phrase searched for. This concerns me because I could see a less relevant page outranking me just because it is on a .gov domain with similar vocabulary even though the result is not what people searching for the term are most likely searching for. The sites have also lost numerous backlinks but still have some really good ones.

Schema.org for Hotels
Good morning, I have a question about how to use Schema.org on a hotel website. Since a website will have many pages, do I add the microdata for the hotel's address, contact info, ratings, reviews, etc on every page as that information is in the footer of each page or do I just add to the homepage once? Thanks in advance

Travel site schema problems
I'm developing a travel site for my home state (Kansas - http://www.kansasisbeautiful.com though it's still has some development being worked on), but struggling to find scheme to work with for some items. So far my site is laid out by both region (northeast Kansas, western Kansas, etc.) and location types (waterfalls, parks, etc.). I'm currently working on coding in schema markup. I've found schema types for waterfalls, parks and landmarks, but I'm struggling to find anything for scenic drives (or highways, drives, anything related), hiking/biking trails and regions (northeast Kansas, southeast Kansas, etc.) The question I have is: What can I do to still try and put some kind of markup when there's nothing available that fits the item I'm trying to markup?

Website Suddenly dropping rank
Morning Moz Fans: My URL is: http://goo.gl/Dhbjwj According to MOZ, which we are tracking this URL with, somewhere between the 3rd Feb and 10th the domain went from being fairly well indexed to being dropped to pages further back than 6-7, for pretty much everything, even the company name was only registering at the bottom of page one. Around this time we were transferring the website from .php into wordpress, so we were creating new pages, called by the same names and all the same content but we created the wordpress area in a sub domain of the website. Again around this time we had an issue with the blog area and had to take it down for 4-5 weeks due to some errors which meant google wouldn't have been able to crawl these pages properly, but the rest of the website was up and running. We also discovered recently that the company have and use this domain http://goo.gl/5JvDUH So my question is, what do you think caused the problem? has it been premaritally penalised? is there a way I can get google to specifically look at it and is there any more i can do?Thank you for your help

Schema Markup for Magento
Hi, I am looking into placing schema on my site that is hosted by Magento. There are a few different extensions that will automate the rich snippets around our content. Some of them are: http://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/seo-rich-snippets-google-bing-yahoo-schema-org.html http://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/google-rich-snippets-for-magento.html http://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/msemantic-semantic-seo-for-rich-snippets-in-google-and-yahoo.html Does anyone have any experience in automating the rich snippets especially in Magento? Did it work? Are there any negative ramifications of doing it this way? Thank you,

301 Redirect Dilemma - Website redesign
Hi Guys, We are redesigning a clients ecommerce site. As part of the process, we're changing the URL structure to make it more friendly. I have put together a provisional 301 redirect plan but I'm not sure just how far I need to go with it. So far I have extract all the pages from the existing site that Google Webmaster Tools says have links pointing at them - this totals 93 pages. I have matched each page like for like to the new website structure. My next step was to pull the landing pages report from Google Analytics, I have extracted the pages that received entrances over the last 6 weeks. This totals 553, less the redirects I have already done and cleaning up some Google Translate pages I have circa 410 pages left. Many of these pages has more than 1 URL pointing to that page. I'm debating how important it is that that all of these remaining 410 pages have individual redirects set up for them one by one. I have to rule out regex because there is no pattern that makes sense given that I have already set up redirects for the first 93 pages that have external links. My question therefore is how important are 301 redirects on pages that have no external links and receive less than 10 entrances over a 6 week previous period? Do I need to 301 every single product on the old site to it's corresponding page on the new site? Also, I'm not sure how to treat pages that have mutliple URL's on the old site, the existing URL structure is such a mess that in some instances I have 5 URL's for one product page? I could feasibly create 5 seperate redirects but is this necessary? Also what about speed considerations, the server is going to have to load these redirects and it may slow the site down. I'm sitting at 100 odd so far. Any answers are most appreciated. Thanks Derek.

We are making some linkbuilding. And have very nice backlinks offer. So we are planning to put our 3 websites in it. Our 3 websites are on separate IP, but same C-block. Can it be a red flag for google? Can i put my 3 backlinks in one blog post?
