Spam Flags: Follow vs. No follow
-
In OSE, I have two spam flags, Ratio of Followed to Nofollowed Domains and Ratio of Followed to Nofollowed Subdomains.
I currently have a ratio of about 3:2 followed to nofollowed. Is this spammy? Also, what is the difference between subdomains and domains in this regard?

There we go. Thanks for the reminder.

Thanks Dmitrii. I never reject nofollow links, but I don't actively seek them. Perhaps it is something I should start doing. Thanks.

Hi there.
Yes, I would consider 3:2 spammy. The reason is: let's say your website is so awesome that everybody, who you reach out to, links to you, making sure (which is very unlikely) that those links are follow. This would make your website very popular, meaning that more and more people would be linking to you without you asking for a link. By default links are usually nofollow (unless websites' owners/webmasters don't care about who they link to, what makes them kinda spammers already). That would lead to appearance of nofollow links. Since most of not spammy websites would care about follow/nofollow, by default you gonna have many more nofollow links per each of follow. And, considering that we live in imperfect world, many-many people would not be making sure that they are linking to you with a follow link. Therefore, 3:2 ratio means that you are purposely getting only follow links, rejecting nofollow links, and that, my friend, is cheating.
About domains/subdomains - that's pretty much the same. The reason they are split, is that you can have domains, which are mainly nofollow, but those domains can have 1 subdomain, which is purely follow, which means that it's most likely spammy.
Hope all this makes sense.

I want to know about the Impact of Do-follow backlinks and No-follow backlinks for increasing DA.
Have Do-follow backlinks and No-Follow backlinks same value to increase Domain Authority in Moz? Recently, I have created 290 profile backlinks which was do-follow. But from yesterday I have seen all backlinks are no-follow now according to the decision of sites' owners. My site's DA has already increased up to 35. Will this DA fall gradually from now? Apart from it, if I have created same backlinks for my another site; will my DA be 35? Please try to clarify it. My site is: Homeworkpaper.net Thanks. Waiting for your valuable answer from Moz official.

Spam Score and crawling of my site
Hello, I'm trying to analyze the spam score of my site which is 9/17 Actually I have few backlinks and all of them have a low spam score (max 4/17, just one). I think there's some kind of issue with the crawler since I get strange spam factors: Large Site with Few Links (likely true, I recently deleted a lot of tags used once) Low Number of Pages Found (wasn't it a "Large Site"??) Low Number of Internal Links (I got a considerable number) No Contact Info (I have a link to my facebook in the menu and a "contacts" page) Thin Content (It's just a blog with min 300 words per post, why thin?) Site Link Diversity is Low (likely true) Ratio of Followed to Nofollowed Subdomains (likely true) Low MozTrust or MozRank Score (true) Ratio of Followed to Nofollowed Domains (likely true) Can you please help me to understand it, is it a crawling problem or similar? If needed I will post the url of the website. Thank you so much Marco
