Deeplinking problem
-
Hello,
I have a problem with the deeplinking between my website (http://www.nobelcom.com) and my app (nobelapp). When I search the app from the mobile, on Google, it sends me to the play store, even if the app is instaled.
Can someone explain what I need to do on the website, and what i need to do on the mobile app so the deeplinking will work, in an easier way the Google documentation?
I have on the homepage this rel alternate but still doesn't work.

Thanks,
Florin

Hi Florin,
It's a bit difficult to say, because this is a big topic, and there are many things you have to do in order to get the links working.
You're doing the right thing on the website – your links are correctly formatted – so you need to focus your attention on the app. There are no independent guides I can recommend you, because the specification changes quite often, so you really need to work through this page and ensure that your app has followed all of the guidelines.
Secondly, if you haven't already got Android Studio you should install it, and then test the links in there. You'll get more detailed error messages on specifically why a link might not be working. Android Studio's link testing tool is described here. Even if you still aren't entirely clear what the problem is, you'll at least have a specific error message from Android Studio. You can then post the error message to a programming Q&A site like Stack Overflow, where you're more likely to get specific advice that'll help you solve that error.

Wordpress category url problem.
I have set up wordpress categories but the permalinks are showing as www.mydomain.com/?cat=12 as opposed to the category name. The child categories though work fine and show as www.mydomain.com/category/chidcatgegory I've obviously got my permalink settings wrong somewhere. How do I fix this?

Is it impossible to get out of Panda? Matt Cutts says if you fix the problem you "pop back" but if so why are their so few examples?
In this video matt cutts says: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IzUuhTyvJk about 15 "once we re-run our data (every few weeks) if we determine your site is of higher quality you would pop back out of being affected" Panda has effected thousands of sites and a lot of smart people have been working on the problem for about 2 years since the first panda was launched, but I can only find 1 site that has "popped back" to their original rankings. e.g. http://searchengineland.com/google-panda-two-years-later-losers-still-losing-one-real-recovery-149491 Apart from Motortrend.com I can't find any sites (of reasonable size) / case studies of sites that have solved the panda problem, and were definitely hit by panda. Which doesn't feel right, some people have deleted a ton of pages, redesigned their site, improved their content, etc with no success. Therefore is it a pointless exercise? Therefore, is it better to simply give up and start a new site?

On Site Problem Caused Rankings To Drop?
I'm getting to the bottom of why my site dropped rankings on the 9th March. I noticed that in google there is a cached version of my site on 9th March at 8.37am which is when my rankings dissapeared. Presumably this is when google last crawled my site? I guess this means that google found something on the home page or on the site that it didn't like? I wonder if anyone can take a look and let me know if there's anything obvious. Could it be a duplicate content penalty as I have lots of categories pulling content from the same posts?

Lots of links on homepage to internal pages with keyword rich anchor text - problem?
Hi, All! We have a new potential client, that when looking at his site with a tool, we noticed that the previous SEO company they worked with filled the homepage copy with lots of keyword-rich anchor text links pointing to different pages on the site - many links going to the same page, just with different keywords. These links are not indistinguishable in format from the other text, which is why we only noticed it with a tool. I certainly wouldn't recommend doing that to start with, but once all these links are there, would you recommend taking them down? Is there any conceivable chance it could help the site? Is there a significant reason to think it will harm the site? Or will it just be pretty neutral? In all that's been written (much by SEOMoz) about only the first link's anchor text counting, do subsequent links work like a no-follow in the sense that they are a waste of the link-juice of the page, or is it as if they aren't there at all? (And is "only the first link counts" still the most widely held theory, or have there been new developments since?) Thanks, All!
