Tracking a Deposit Page Through Google Analytics: Which is a better way?
-
Good day to all,
I do have game download website (Works like Google Play and Steam) and currently working on the deposit page which is payable by fund transfer and Paypal. The thing is I do not have a confirmation page that I can use to track all incoming successful and unsuccessful conversions for this deposit page. My question is, which is better to use for this kind of tracking a goal in Google Analytics? Are we going to use a virtual page or and event tracking method? How can I track users that visit the deposit page that weren't able to do a deposit attempt?
Thanks for answering this question. Have a good day ahead.

Thanks for this, Aaron.
I am currently weighing both virtual confirmation pages and event tracking method. Never tried the event tracking method though. As far as my knowledge about virtual pages, they will not trigger the conversion if the attempt is failed.

I would most likely use event tracking as it means you don't need to move the user to another page. You can program it into the website to send the data as it happens.
Here is a good page about setting up event tracking Click here
Just wanted to add that than you could setup goal tracking from the event itself once setup. This will allow you to track conversions better or non conversions.

Is anyone aware of stats stating how many people abandon pages the deeper they get in a site?
For example, let's say someone enters via a landing page, and instead of having a form there is a button to a form. What percentage of people will click the button and fill out the form vs if the form was right there on the page? Basically, I am trying to figure out what percentage of users do websites lose for every click a user makes on the site.

Tracking Form Submissions to Source with WP
Hi all! I know that we can use conversion tracking in analytics to track form submissions by source, but when a specific form comes through for someone (say Susan Smith) who messaged us looking for info about product xyz...is there a way to connect the data so I can figure out exactly which source brough Susan specifically? Using Wordpress websites FYI. Thanks, Ricky

Multiple Thank You pages with one Contact form - PPC
Hi everyone,
Conversion Rate Optimization | | Carla_Dawson
I am running a PPC (Google Adwords Campaign) and it is pretty big. I have about 25 landing pages each with a Contact Form. I need the contact form to go to a unique thank you page for each landing page to measure conversions via Google Adwords. In other words I need the contact form on submission to redirect to a specific and unique thank you page that I can define. The contact form needs to be the same for all landing pages to avoid having to produce 25 landing pages. I am ok with producing 25 Example
http://www.maindomain.com/landing-page-1 redirects tohttp://www.maindomain.com/thank-you-1 http://www.maindomain.com/landing-page-2 redirects tohttp://www.maindomain.com/thank-you-2 http://www.maindomain.com/landing-page-3 redirects tohttp://www.maindomain.com/thank-you-3 Can someone help me with this?
Thanks https://wordpress.org/plugins/contact-form-7/0 -
How to track full path of website visitors until conversion, not just landing page?
hi, This is my first question in the forums and I'm looking forward to be part of a great SEO community. I was wondering ow to track full path of website visitors until conversion, not just landing page? I've been using Wordpress jetpack site stats for while, which shows great data like keywords used in google, landing page etc. But I would like to have access to the full path for each separate visitors (including their IP address and country is possible) to improve my website and conversions. Example: step 1: Visitor X types "seo" on Google step 2: visitor lands on my homepage step 3: visitor visits to order page and buys Is there such tool available as a Wordpress plugin? Or do I have to use Google analytics for this? thank you for your help, Marc

Goals and funnels in Google Analytics
I have an e-commerce site and I'm trying to set up goals and funnels in Google Analytics. I've set the goal URL to my thank you page and am now setting up the funnel steps from home page through category page - product page - shopping cart - checkout. I seem to have set it up wrong though because according to the funnel 100% of the of the people coming in to the home page exists from there too, even though I can see that they have moved on to a category page. I have obviously several categories and product pages. Is there a way to set it up to include all category pages in one funnel step and all product pages in another? The way the website is set up is like this: Categories:

Is it better to get a new site instead of maintaining a category? I'm stuck.
If you had a website "Food for Dogs" and: Food for German shepherds was improving in search traffic & conversions Snack Food for German shepherds had no change and never resulted in conversions but resulted in many leads for #1 Food for Poodles was unchanged but improving conversions Here's the kicker... Food Container for Dogs was super high traffic but with no conversions or any activity to other categories Would you redirect "food container for dogs" to a different site and delete that tab from the original site completely? It's still related but does not offer any $ value or leads to any of the other categories. Just note that we have a different interest in this category that will support the other categories at one time, but not any time soon. We also have a major group on LinkedIN that's grown to thousands of members for the "food container for dogs" category. On top of it all, the "food container for dogs" has been increasing in rank on Google for several keyphrases to positions 2-5 (nationally) Other important question: Would keeping "food container for dogs" influence the ranking of the other keywords? (by dilution of the site's PR or any other reason?)

Tracking Sales to Sources
We're trying to set up a commission system for the different people who contribute to our site. We just want to see a list of transactions and the path back to source for all of them. We haven't been able to figure it out and know other ecommerce sites have had to have figured this out.We have GA Ecommerce tracking on. How can we find last months sales: source / medium / keyword / landing page / revenue / etc Sorry if this is an obvious question. We have spent a lot of time trying to figure it out.

Proper Landing Pages for PPC ads
One of our sites is for a local Promotional Products company that focuses on local big businesses to set up accounts with. We are trying to grow our customer base with this site through use of a PPC campaign, but are unsure of where to send them. We were thinking about a page with content about what we do and our contact information, or putting together videos with this information to send them to. Does anyone have any advice for a killer landing page that not only is good for getting conversions for promotional products through PPC, but also could get us organic traffic? Thanks in advance for the help!
