Adding AdWords Remarketing Pixel to "Partner" Domains?
-
I have read through the AdWords advertising policies, but there isn't an extremely clear answer to my question: does it break AdWords policy to include a remarketing pixel on a partner website?
Example - I own and run 123boats.com, my acquaintance who owns abchotels.com has agreed to put my remarketing pixel on his website, and I plan to show remarketing ads to his website visitors advertising my services at 123boats.com.
Is anyone aware of any documentation that explicitly allows or disallows this type of "partner" remarketing tracking?
-
I inquired with AdWords support and heard back that this tactic is okay!
"I touched base with our Policies Team... As of now, we have no policy dictating that we can't use the visitors landing on website 1 and retargeting/remarketing those visitors with ads related to website 2."
-
I have not ever seen proper documentation on this type of remarketing policy, but I have retargeted to a Partner Website in the past and our Google PPC rep was aware and more than OK with the process.
In general, I think if the result is "you spend more on Google ads" they tend to be OK with that.

Thanks for your thoughts Jono!
I agree 100% that if a good targeting strategy isn't used, this type of cross-site remarketing may be ineffective. I should have made it more clear that my example was hypothetical to illustrate the question; in the actual scenario that I would deploy these "partner" agreements I believe we have a strong strategy in place for targeting a relevant audience.

Even if it's not explicitly disallowed, you're going to run into poor targeting of your remarketing ads. In your example, I assume your market is boat owners, and your acquaintance's market is hotel visitors. While boat owners go to hotels, they're likely a small subset of hotel visitors. So you'd end up targeting a large group with very little interest alignment with what you're offering, outside of the market you're already targeting.

Looking for an intensive Adwords training classes in San Francisco or a good online resource!
Hi everyone, It may not be the right forum to post such a request but I am looking for an intensive advanced adwords training program within the next 2 weeks in the San Francisco area. I am adwords certified since last week but I have never really managed multiple accounts before and I am looking for something that would get me up to speed. I have already researched online and found that Cardinal Path, Luna Metrics and Academy X are offering such classes but nothing this month. Do you guys have any suggestions for a good intensive training program around the San Francisco Area that offers classes this month? Online resources are welcomed as well. Thanks for letting me know!

To use new domain name or not?
I've had a web site since before most people knew what a web site was, aeroconsult.com. It has a page authority of 30, domain authority of 21, and 21 root domains that link to path. The problem is, I am not getting many organic hits, and I am wasting a lot of non-productive money on ad words. Because this site is over 20 years old, with a few rudimentary modifications, I decided to create a totally new web site that is modern and that has a regular menu, pictures, etc. It also has a domain name that more accurately reflects what I do. I am an engineering consultant working in the area of RF and microwave design and development. I design rf and microwave circuits and systems for clients. Those clients range from individual inventors to start-up companies, to large (and, yes, sometimes) corporations, including some aerospace companies. But, I do not design rockets, space ships, airplanes, or other things that an aerospace company does. I get a lot of organic hits on "aerospace consultant", "aerospace consulting", "aerospace design", etc. But, those are useless to me, since that is not what I do. So, I designed a new website. It is still under development, but it is out there at rfandmicrowavedesign.com. Clearly, the URL is appropriate to what I do. And, all pages have my company name, Aerospace Consulting LLC. But, even with Google adwords, which I just activated for this site yesterday, I am not getting good results, especially when you look at the cost of the CPC. I plan to keep my e-mail address, that is tied to aeroconsult.com since it has been out there for over 2 decades and that is what my old clients know. But, I am wondering if I should move the new web site contents to my old domain, aeroconsult.com because of the domain authority, page authority, and links? Or, am I better just leaving the old aeroconsult.com web site out there and concentrate on the new web site with the new domain name? Both web sites have 1 or 2 organic search results in the top 10, although the only organic search result that really relates to my business is "wireless design consulting" which is #8 for rfandmicrowavedesign.com, although I think it is something like #10 for aeroconsult.com. All other organic search results are less than 50, which is, of course, useless. (Although, #8 for rfandmicrowavedesign.com is pretty impressive since it has only been live for a couple of weeks, vs over 20 years for aeroconsult.com. Anyway, I am looking for advice. Should I scrap the old aeroconsult.com web site and replace its contents with the contents of rfandmicrowavedesign.com, or should I leave them both active for at least a while? I plan to continue to use the aeroconsult.com domain for e-mail since it has been out there for so long. I guess the real question is whether I would gain lot by putting the clearly better content and structure of rfandmicrowavedesign.com on my old, established, aeroconsult.com, or whether I should concentrate in building up organic and paid search for rfandmicrowavedsign.com.

Adwords negative keywords / keyword lists conflicting?
Does any of you had any experience on large 5k+ shared negative keyword lists impacting normal campaign negative keywords in Adwords even if they are not selected on these campaigns? And a second question; does anyone know how selected negative keyword lists can be removed from a campaign? I seem to be able to add them but not to remove them... Cheers!

How does this company have more characters than allowed on Google Ads?
I thought this was weird and was wondering if anyone knows the answer to this... I attached the image so you can see what I mean. How does this company get away with having more characters than what Google Adwords allows? And why is there a "block ads from" thing underneath this ad, but not the others? Sorry for the bad arrow, I'm on Windows XP lol Thanks you 🙂 G2d9gIr.jpg

Adwords search term report processing help
So I've downloaded my 6000 row adwords search term report, and want to analyses brand keywords and variants only....I could do this by brute force, but I'll want to do it again in a month or two. I have a nice regex string which will do the job but can't find a way to implement a solution. Is there a good way to do this? Or is there a better way? Adwords won't let me filter using regex, Excel needs vb setup to use regex and I've tried the regex in Libre Calc (doesn't return the correct results).

Keyword quota exceeded! Need help with Adwords Strategy
Hello, I was playing around with my Adwords and received a nice message from Google saying "Keywood Quota exceed". Basically I have too many keywords. That made me wonder if I could organize my keywords better. I sell tractor parts online. The majority of traffic is from people putting the part number into Google i.e 0J51MP5ON . It therefore made sense to use the manufactures SKU as keywords. The problem is that we have 30,000 keywords and will be moving to 100,000 - which above the Google limit. Each keyword links to the appropriate page on the website i.e. 0J51MP5ON goes to the 0J51MP5ON page. To make things simpler I could cut down on keywords by redirecting all parts starting with 0J5 to a 0J5 landing page for parts being with 0J5. The would be from the same Tractor manufacturer. However, I am worried this will reduce conversation rates. It will make it easier to manage the keywords. Anyone got any better suggestions?
