Keyword comparison and importance
-
hello,
how can i compare two keywords? let's say i have i those two keywords:
a) πτυχιακες εργασιες
β) πτυχιακές εργασίες
how can i see in what way most people are searching?
-
Adwords search volumes are for exact matches only.
If you can rank on the first page for the version with more search volume, that would be better but sometimes it is easier to rank for the smaller search volume variant. And getting most of a smaller number is better than getting none of a large number.
Google has also recently changed the way that the keyword planner works, making it less useful in general. [See Rand's comments here for an alternative.]

hello,
so keyword planner is the best to see searches per month and as a result of those two keywords it is better to rank higher in πτυχιακες εργασιες rather that the other right?
Moreover are these search volumes exact because i find they are no so much! Are they including only the exact match of the words or also Phrase match?
thanks in advance

Hello,
I used Google Keyword Planner to run these keywords, here are the results:
πτυχιακες εργασιες - 1,600 searches per month
πτυχιακές εργασίες - 140 searches per monthThat's worldwide without any negative keywords. There's no way to tell where these searches are being made from, but there's good odds they are mostly coming from Greece or countries with lots of Greeks in them.
If you want to check for yourself, here is the link:

Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Rob

Finding competitors best keywords?
How do I learn my competitor's best keywords? I realize I can add more keywords to my campaign but the problem is - I am not sure I am thinking of the right keywords. I don't want to compare with the keywords I am targeting - I want to know what THEY are targeting.

Beating the Big Boys: help analyzing keywords in a very competitive space
Hi all! Long time Pro member first time question asker! We are in real estate in Barcleona and, although we create tons of content (daily blogs, free ebooks, videos) we have never properly optimized our root domain page for any keywords that might bring us specifically real estate related traffic from Google. Our website is www DOT SuiteLife DOT com. My question is about keyword analysis. We've had this sort of paralysis whereby we're nervous to start link building etc… for the wrong keywords. The problem we have is that most all keywords in our space are VERY competitive. So far the two tools we've used are: Google Keyword tool: About the top 20-40 keywords we'd like to go after are rated as HIGH competition. SEOmoz Keyword tool: Only the really too-obscure or long tailed keywords related to our business fall under a 50 rating. We were wondering if anyone could shed some light on how to further analyze keyword possibilities for our homepage when it seems like anything with any decent search traffic is super competitive. Please let me know if there's any important info that I've left out! Thank you SO much in advance for any advice/help. The SEOmoz community is so amazing! Rock on guys and gals! ~ Benny

What's the value of Exact Match Keyword Domains vs. Company Name Domains?
Hey Mozers, I was in a discussion this morning about the value of Exact Match Keyword domains vs. a company name domain and wanted to get a little more clarification. Let's say we are doing a site for a company called Favored Dental, and they have had the domain favoredental.com for quite a while and have their authority built up in it. Is it better to have favored-dental.com or favoreddental.co or keep its current form? The reasoning behind the alternate domains would be they have the exact match keyterm, in this case lets say "Favored Dental" is the keyterm we were going after. To my knowledge EMDs aren't as relevant as they'd use to be as Google would rather branding of companies instead of keyterm domains? Is this correct, or do EMDs of keywords you're going after hold higher authority? Thanks for the clarification!

Can you track multiple domains with the same key words and not use up your keyword limit?
I have roughly 7 domains that I am trying to monitor with the same set of keywords. Is there a way to do this without using up your keyword limit. They are the same words just different sites.

Find competitors based on keywords
Are there any tools where I can enter say 5 keywords and it will look at the top 10 sites for each of those keywords then return which sites show up the most.

Does anyone know of a keyword difficulty API?
Hi Mozzers, I've made a script that uses the Google Adwords API to insert big lists of keywords ideas and their monthly search volume into our database. It would be awesome to be able to also automatically get a difficulty score for those keywords from a tool like the SEOmoz Keyword Difficulty Tool. Sadly this tool doesn't seem to be in the SEOmoz API. Google does provide a competition score in the AdWords API, but that's only based on the competitiveness of the AdWords auction for that keyword. So my question is: does anyone know another keyword difficulty tool, that does have an API? Thanks! Daan
