Google stopped showing rich snippets - what does warning mean?
-
Hi,
for our site prams.net, Google stopped showing the rich snippets yesterday. We got the following warning in Webmastertools
"Data with spam structures http://www.prams.net/ may be removed from the search results"
As we have not changed anything for months, I do not know what the reason could be. Here a sample url from our site
http://www.prams.net/brevi-ovo-twin
Does anybody have experience with this and can give me a tip what to change?
Thanks in advance.
Dieter Lang

Thanks for your help. We reduced our markup considerably down to the review markup as you suggested.

Looking into the code it seems like there's an excessive amount of markup. Each schema type has various rules about what it should apply to, so it's not hard to violate one of the rules if you're not consciously applying each rule. Just a quick look and I see 13 of these:
itemscope="itemscope"
Not sure what that's supposed to be doing, but I don't think it's correct syntax. Unfortunately looking deeply into a page with so much markup (101 itemprops!) to fix every possible violation is WAY beyond the scope of a question that I can answer here. Generally I'd suggest only using markup where you really want the snippet to appear rather than tagging everything. There's just too much to go wrong.
Beyond that, use Google's structured data testing tool and the structured data section in Webmaster Tools to make sure what you have is working. There are probably some Magento plugins that could handle this for you. Really I think all you need to tag are the product and review-centered markup.
Sorry that didn't help as much as you'd like, but there are dozens of potential minor technical problems to fix. There's enough markup that I can see why Google thinks its spam. In this case, less is probably more. I'd consolidate way down to review markup, make sure it's accurate, and only expand markup carefully once that's working.

Fix your "lowPrice" and "highPrice" markup (remove € and add
priceCurrency)
to be honest, I think it was automatically flagged (same ratings/reviews on multiple urls) and if you can request reconsideration, they'd approve.

Different snippet in Google for same page
Hello, I have a question regarding the snippet of a specific case: When i search the homepage by searching the business name, i find the correct snippet of the homepage (with the meta description that was entered). If i search it via site:www. it still show the default meta description. Has anybody had experience with this? Is there a way to change the snippet of site:www.? Does it influence SEO? Thank you!

Should I stop redirectin 301, sometime?
Dear All, I work for a southamerican ecommerce, I would like to know if you can help me out with the following. This site is full of 404, more than 45K, so we are doing 301 to corresponding pages. The development team is asking me if we could stop doing the 301 in some time...In order to do this search engines should index only the url we are redirecting to, and not the one that is redirecting to the new one. Currently they are redirecting in the HTML no by htaccess, so this means they have one page for each URL that needs to be redirected, and this is not efficient. Bests, Pablo

Prevent Google from crawling Ajax
With Google figuring out how to make Ajax and JS more searchable/indexable, I am curious on thoughts or techniques to prevent this. Here's my Situation, we have a page that we do not ever want to be indexed/crawled or other. Currently we have the nofollow/noindex command, but due to technical changes for our site the method in which this information is being implemented if it is ever displayed it will not have the ability to block the content from search. It is also the decision of the business to not list the file in robots.txt due to the sensitivity of the content. Basically, this content doesn't exist unless something super important happens, and even if something super important happens, we do not want Google to know of its existence. Since the Dev team is planning on using Ajax/JS to pull in this content if the business turns it on, the concern is that it will be on the homepage and Google could index it. So the questions that I was asked; if Google can/does index, how long would that piece of content potentially appear in the SERPs? Can we block Google from caring about and indexing this section of content on the homepage? Sorry for the vagueness of this question, it's very sensitive in nature and I am trying to avoid too many specifics. I am able to discuss this in a more private way if necessary. Thanks!

Google Local oddity
So I spotted something a little weird... one of my client's Google Local placements in blended results has the domain name - complete with the .com extension appearing where the business name typically appears: Businessxyz.com www. businessxyz .com of Google reviews Has anyone seen this? I setup their Google Places account quite some time ago and used the business name - not the url. I also setup their Google+ and Local page - using the name. None of the page titles on the website contain the url. I simply can not pinpoint where G is pulling this from or why for that matter. All competitors are appearing with business name - only my client has the domain name visible for the particular local search query. Any ideas?

Ranking Factors for Google
Yesterday a blog post appeared on SEOMOZ titled 'A Tale Of Two Studies' - http://www.seomoz.org/blog/a-tale-of-two-studies-google-vs-bing-clickthrough-rate It suggested some of the ranking factors Google and Bing take into account when ranking. A few of them I want to talk about: Social Signals, Age of Domain and H1 HTML Tag So I thought age of domain and H1 both had some weight in Google? I guess not! And social signals, now I know it gives some weight but its right up there in the list for both SE's, so should getting likes, tweets, plus1's now be part of my everyday link building? Google WMT Change of address.
Hey all. I've got two domain names. -rt112media.com -route112media.com http://rt112media.com is my main address. The preferred domain. My Google WMT account has 4 sites listed that I am a verified owner on. 1.)rt112media.com 2.)www.rt112media.com 3.)route112media.com 4.)www.route112media.com I recent changed the address in WMT for route112media.com to have the preferred domain rt112media.com. I did this on Nov 23. It is currently saying their is a request and I can withdrawl. Now I'm needing to set the preferred for www.rt112media.com to be rt112media.com but it will not let me because of the pending route112media.com. The problem is I'm getting a ton of errors under my www.rt112media.com diagnostics. I'm not getting any under rt112media.com but I am thinking it is still effecting my page rank. I have the 301's for all set up as a 301 wildcard to rt112media.com. They all redirect to the preferred domain I wan (rt112media.com.) Suggestions?

Google Places not appearing
is it possible to be sandboxed for a google places page? one of our clinics has a places page, and it was doing fine (http://www.google.com/maps/place?cid=5542269234389030356) but now whenever we set our location to trinity,fl and try to search for weight loss, weight loss trinity, etc.. it doesnt come up. it only comes up if we search medi weight loss trinity. also, when we go into our google places dashboard and try to edit the pictures, it doesnt show the same pictures on the actual locations page. for example, in our dashboard we have 5 pictures, but on the actual places page, 3 pictures are showing (none of which are in our dashboard). any ideas?
