Is yandex important
-
Curious. And my apologies for the naiive question. Is Yandex just focused for/on Russia? What if my clients don't have any Russian prospects or customers? Should Yandex still be included in a U.S. based business's website overall seo strategy?
Thanks!

Hi Michael,
Just to add, even if Yandex is important for targeting Russian region audience, we have observed that some of the recently migrated / expats in USA still use Yandex.
I hope this helps your cause in targeting the right audience.
Regards,
Vijay

Thank you both (Bernadette and Oleg) for the quick responses! Much appreciated.

Yandex is pretty much only used in Russia, Kazakhstan and some Eastern European countries. If you don't have customers in those areas, I wouldn't worry about Yandex.
-
Does your response equate to a no then? Yandex is not important to a US based company's website seo strategy? I ask because it is my impression that 'getting found' and 'getting clicks' are two separate things.
-
Generally speaking, we do still allow Yandex to crawl and index sites. But in most cases, we don't see them sending much traffic to US-based websites.

How many backlinks from one domain?
How many backlinks from one domain is too many? 1? 3? 10? For example, directory listings. If you have 5 separate links to one website in lets say DMOZ (good for you!), is it really only "juicy" one time? Or each one just as awesome? What about multiple guest articles on a related website? If I had 2 or 3 articles on one website that each have different contextual links, is it just the same as if I had one article?

Google Structured Data Verses Yandex Structured Data Validator Query
Hi All, We have implemented Schema.org on our website and we have chosen a specific schema as opposed to just using the standard localbusiness. When we ran it through the Google Structured data tool it did not report any error , however , when we tried it on Yandex, it showed up as us having problems with the way we have tagged our addresses for our different locations so we have made additional changes to fix this. I have read somewhere that the Google Structured data tool is not 100% correct at showing any errors etc and that one should use Yandex as well for validation. I am wondering what others thoughts and if what I read should be taken as correct infomation?... I would be surprised if google did release something like the structured data validator if it wasn't as good at reporting than some others out there. thanks Pete
