Do it required here to implement hreflang? As only homepage is in different language?
-
Do it anything wrong in google point of view?
Thanks!

Hi there.
Hreflang is only for pages with multiple languages. So, in your case, it would be homepage only. No need to add "fake" hreflangs to other pages.
-
I am also facing this same problem. I'm trying to figure out if I put hreflang for all the languages only on the homepage (as that is the only page on our site with various versions) or if I need to put in on all pages of my site, even if they don't have international versions. Our homepage has about 7 international versions and our inner pages only have an english version. Do I only put international hreflang on the homepage and just put english on the inner pages? Thanks!
-
Agree with both statements.
Also want to say that the way you have it set up is a bit weird. If i land on non-english version of your website, and then on click on any link it would take me to english version, I'd consider it a big UX flaw. Especially if user can not understand english.

Yes. Also, you can set hreflang in the english version, just stating that its the english version.
-
I am not an expert implementating, every time I need to implement, I do a recheck of a few sources. Here some:
The hreflang Tags Generator Tool - Aleyda Solis (Moz's associate)
Use hreflang for language and regional URLs - Search Console Help
Hreflang Attribute - MozHope it helps!

Hi @Gaston,
Thanks for the response!
-
I can implement hreflang only on homepage right because rest other pages are in English only?
-
Can you please suggest hreflang tag for my above sites to be implement on main and other sites ?
Please!
-
-
Hi there,
-
yes you should implement hreflang. As you are using a geo told, is really needed the hreflang so Google can understand that the web isn't British.
-
I'd set subdirectories instead of subdomains. Remember that Google considers subdomains as a different site from the main domain.
Hope it helps

Multiregional / Multilingual SEO - What do you do when there is no equivalent page?
Hello, We're building out a small number of pages for the US in a sub-folder .com/us. The idea is to show US specific pages to users in that location. However, we also have a number of pages which we will not be creating for the US as they're not relevant. I am planning on geo-targeting the US folder to instruct the search engines that this subfolder should appear in the US SERPS but since it isn't an exact science, there is a chance that US visitors may land on these non-us pages which could potentially give them a bad user experience. What should we do in instances where a US user lands on a non-us page with no equivalent page? Any help would be much appreciated!

Need help with search results for US site for a compnay that has many international sites
I am tasked with optimizing a US site for a company that has many international sites. Currently, if you search for just the main company name and don't include "USA" in your search, it won't even give you the US site on the SERP. It displays the Italian, French, etc etc sites - even though I'm searching on Google in the US with a preferred language of Engilsh. Unfortunately I don't have any control over the other sites, only the US one. Is there anything I can add to the US site (aside from setting the country code in GSC) so that when someone searches from within the USA, they get the US site and not all of the other ones? thanks!

Help with hreflang configuration
We currently have different country versions of our site with a hreflang configuration; we have a spanish site targeted for Spain and then different subdirectories for every latin american country we're targeting to. Other than minimal differences, at the moment they are similar until we can handle providing unique content for each country. Our goal, then, would be to show the right one for every Google version, but also to avoid penalties. Our configuration is like this: ... Do you reckon this would be the right approach? Moz is currently telling us that there's duplicate content between the different country subdirectories, and to an extent there is, does that correlate with Google penalizing us for it? Also I've seen examples of self-referential alternates (such as including the in the Mexican version), or to put the canonical referencing the primary http://www.example.com/, will any of this help to our goals? Thanks a lot!

Geotarget subfolders with the same language or get rid of duplicates but lose option to geotarget?
Hi, we have a domain that is aimed to cover LatAm region. Currently, the homepage contains country selector for ~20 countries. 95% of them hold content in Spanish. We have only homepages for each regions as separate subfolders, i.e.

www.maindomain.com/co
www.maindomain.com/cl
www.maindomain.com/br
etc. but once the user clicks on menu item he is taken back to main domain subpages, i.e. www.maindomain.com/comprar My struggle is to decide whether it is better to: A) copy all content for each subfolder, which will create huge amount of duplicates (there are no resources to create unique content and it is even impossible taking into account nature of the product - mostly tech.specs, etc.) and implement hreflang sitemaps and configure GWT to target each country with its own Spanish content (the same for each country) OR B) remove all local subfolders and keep only main domain in Spanish that will serve all countries within the region. With this option, we will get rid of duplicates but also lose option to geotarget. So, my questions is which option will do less harm, or if there is any other approach that comes to your minds. I consulted with two agencies but still haven't got clear answer. Thanks a lot for your help!0 -
Have I over-optimized (on-site optimization using SEOMoz tool)?
Hey all, Quite new to SEO although I tried to educate myself as much as I could. I just spent (really) a lot of time doing the onsite optimization of a few key pages of a website in 3 languages (in which I'm more or less conversational - with the help of Google Translate). I know content should not be misleading and feel natural. I think the result is natural but I'm not sure... I optimized as much as I could so as to reach an "A" grade as per SEOMoz tool for each page, for 1-4 keywords per page. I feel sometimes I stretched a bit, but not sure what "stretching" is given my lack of experience. So I was wondering if some of you could tell me what they thought and if there was some obvious don'ts in my work. Here are a few key pages I have optimized: The homepage: http://goo.gl/00Fti The search results page: http://goo.gl/b1fxE The property page: http://goo.gl/t2GdY The destinations page: http://goo.gl/0Kc0l Note that the other versions of the page - Italian & Spanish - may be more awkward, so I welcome your opinions for these as well (dropdown on top of the page to change the language). Thanks!!

Duplicated 404 Pages (Travel Industry)
Our website has creating numberous "future pages" with no alt tag or class tag that are showing up as 404 pages, To make matters worst, they are causing duplicate 404 pages because we have different languages. The visitors cant find the 404s but the searchbots can. Would it better to remove or add the links to robot.txt or add nofollow/noindex tag? This is an example. http://www.solmelia.com/nGeneral.LINK_FAQ http://www.solmelia.com/nGeneral.LINK_HOTELESDESTINOS_BODAS http://www.solmelia.com/nGeneral.LINK_CONDICIONES http://www.solmelia.com/nGeneral.LINK_MAPSITE http://www.solmelia.com/nGeneral.LINK_HOTELESDESTINOS_EMPRESA
