What is the general consensus on using Text Broker for content?
-
I have seen generally good reviews for http://www.textbroker.com. Does anyone here have personal experience with it?
We are considering using it for content creation for guest blogging for clients. As far as we have found, this is all within Google's acceptable webmaster guidelines.
In general, how much editing is required from an article provided by Text Broker?
Thanks!

I commissioned around half a dozen pieces from TextBroker and I was utterly unimpressed. The pieces were not insightful, had very little thought behind them, and looked like they'd been written in about two minutes flat. On one of the pieces I paid for the top level "professional" service, and still the piece was very weak. I asked for it to be revised, but the revision did little to improve things. I'm steering clear.

I've never used TextBroker, although I too have heard good things. I think their services are a bit overpriced, in my opinion at least. For a 3-star quality article, a 400 word piece would cost you $6.40. I think that's on the high end.
For my lower quality content creation (lower quality here meaning anything I don't write myself), I use freelancers. I shopped out a couple of gigs to Fiverr, found a freelancer that did really good work, then approached her for a bulk order outside of Fiverr. She does great work for me, and I pay $2.50 a piece for good quality 400 word original articles. I've also had luck with freelancers from oDesk, or you can find a local college student from Craigslist. I think no matter how you do it, you can get better quality articles for cheaper than what TextBroker offers.

Link building - anyone use this technique?
I have had a client come and ask me to do some link building, they are wanting to use a strategy of buying expired domains and creating a single page website with some keyword links back to the main website. Seems like an old idea at best, has anyone used it or is it risky

Does over-optimised ext. link anchor text of one particular keyword affect our other search term rankings?
Hi, **Does having over-optimised anchor text only affect the rank for that one particular keyword being used as the anchor text or can it negatively affect our rank for other search terms as well? **

Should I use general keywords or city specific keywords for back link campaign?
I am working on a new client that offer appliance repair in all of california and I was wondering would it be ok if I just target general keywords like "appliance repair" instead of city specific keywords like "los angeles appliance repair" for the back link campaign . I am sure city specific would be better for rankings, but would the general keywords help local seo at all? What is the best way to go about this with out having to make a city specific page for all listings? thanks

Bad links or poor content?
Hi all I have a meeting with our seo company tomorrow.... Our sites have dropped considerably for our main keywords. My opinion is that the links that have been built for us have focused on too few anchor text and many "money making" keywords. Also to deep pages rather than the home page. They are saying it's poor content (I guess they would). We copyscape check all content before putting live. Has anyone any evidence I could present to them to back up my argument?

Multiple KW's , on-page and anchor text
Hello, For each page on my site, I've targeted one primary keyword and three to four secondary keywords. All of the keywords variants are tightly themed. With some on-page, I've ranked page two or three for all of the keywords and many are starting to convert based on Analytics data. Each page scores an "A" using the SEOmoz KW targeting tool for the "primary keyword only". For secondary keywords, I've only included words but not the complete keyword. For example, if the primary keyword is "blue green widgets" and the secondary keyword is "get blue green widgets", I've included the word "get" throughout the copy to target the secondary keyword. My questions are... Should I include each secondary keyword once in the copy and not just the word "get" for example? Just wondering if there is a better approach to target all of the keywords via on-page. When getting links to each page, how would you vary the anchor text to target all of the keywords, primary and secondary? Thanks!

If I write a PR release on a site such as PRweb with anchor-text links that is picked up and published by other news sites, do the engines consider this duplicate content or additional, beneficial links?
I recently wrote a news release on PRweb that was picked up identically by 8 other news websites, with the same anchor-text links as the original. Is the reproduction of duplicate content and links across different websites like this to the benefit or detriment of SEO and ranking power? Some of the links are: http://www.mynewsdesk.com/uk/view/pressrelease/eventa-new-eventa-christmas-parties-website-is-launched-648923?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=Alert&utm_content=pressrelease http://www.prweb.com/releases/christmasparties/neweventasite/prweb8562064.htm Many thanks!!

Anchor Text Percentage
At the linklove conference, many of the speakers emphasized the importance of not having too high a percentage of anchor text for your incoming links, because it looks unnatural. I was wondering whether this applies to your keyword being in the anchor text along with other things, or just exact anchor text matches? For example, if my keyword is widgets, is it bad to have too many of these: Please buy widgets from Acme Corp. or Please buy Acme Corp widgets.
