One of my pages doesn't appear in Google's search
-
Our page has been indexed (I just checked) but literally doesn't exist in the first 300 results despite having a respectable DA & PA.
Is there something I can do? There's no reason why this specific page doesn't rank, as far as I can see. It's not a new page.
Cheers,
Rhys

No problem at all. Glad to help!
All the best,

Hi Sean,
You're right! Although, on mine, it was on page 2. Seems very unusual that with all the cookies and filters on, I was invisible on rankings?
Anyway, thank you for your help!
Best wishes,
Rhys

Hey Rhys,
I've got you coming up at the top of page 3 for a search for 'biochemistry degree'.
Give it a quick check in incognito mode on your browser and let me know how you get on
Cheers,
Sean

Hi Sean,
Thanks for getting back to me. I doesn't rank, at all, for 'Biochemistry degree', which I don't understand. Granted, there is some big competition, but not showing at all? Seems a bit strange.
Thanks for your advice.
Cheers,
Rhys

Hey Rhys,
A search for 'bsc biochemistry swansea university' showed your result in first position.
Looks like it's being indexed by Google.
What were you searching that didn't show it up?

Hi Sean,
Thanks for your reply.
Content hasn't been duplicated, and, from what I can see from the html, there is no 'noindex' tag on the page. However, I'm not sure about the robots.txt file.
URL is attached - http://www.swansea.ac.uk/undergraduate/courses/medicine/bscbiochemistry/
Appreciate your help!
Cheers,
Rhys

Hi there,
Do you have the URL for the webpage? It's hard to answer your question without knowing how it's optimised or the keyword its optimised for.
Check the following:
- has it been excluded in the robots.txt file?
- is there a meta noindex tag on the page?
- has the content been duplicated from another site?
- has the page been duplicated within your site on another URL?
There are so many possibilities. If you can supply a URL, maybe we can help you?
I hope this helps,
Sean

Ctr question with home page and product pages
do you believe that the advantage of targeting a search term on the home page is now worse off than before? as I understand it ctr is a big factor now And as far as i can see if two pages are equal on page etc the better ctr will win out, the issue with the home page is the serp stars cannot be used hence the ctr on a product page will be higher? I feel if you where able to get a home page up quicker (1 year instead of two) you still lost out in the end due to the product page winning on ctr? do you think this is correct?

Why isn't our structured markup showing in search results
Hi All, We installed Schema.org structured markup on our pages nearly 1.5 months ago at this point and we have yet to see the markup show in the search results. It also checks out in Webmaster tools and Google's structured markup language testing tool. So, I'm just confused why it's not even showing up site a "site" search in Google either. Here's an example of two such pages on our site: http://www.learningtree.com/htfu/usdc01/washington/java-perl-and-python-programming-training and http://www.learningtree.com/htfu/usat40/alpharetta/it-and-management-training Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you 🙂

Any SEO thoughts about Google's new Data Highlighter for products?
After searching around on the web for a while I couldn't find any case studies or interesting posting about Google's new feature to highlight structured data. In Google Webmaster Tools you can now tag your products to be displayed as structured data in Google's search results. Two questions that rose immediately: 1. What effect will Google's new Data Hightlighter for products have on your SEO? Can we expect better CTR's for productspage results in Google? Better conversion rates perhaps? Any case studies that show KPI improvements after using structured data for products? 2. I would love to see some examples in the search results to see what productpages would look like after Data Highlighting it. Your thoughts or input about this subject will be much appreciated.

Same page but appearing in Google with different titles
I have a page ranking on position 1 for a key phrase. The key phrase is the title of the page as well. I'll use a mock key phrase to aid my question - "Teeth and Gums" So the page is ranking number 1 for "Teeth and Gums" and "Teeth and Gums" is the meta title. However, I went ahead and did a new search adding an additional keyword to the original search. When I did a new search adding an additional keyword to the original search, Google has done something weird.. Let's say the search is "Dentistry - Teeth and Gums", Google has ranked my page again as number 1 but changed the title. The title in the search result is now "Dentistry - Teeth and Gums" How and why? It's kinda like Google PPC's keyword insertion but the title hasn't got anything weird like {KeyWord: Dentistry}. It's just "Teeth and Gums" Has this happened to you guys? Any ideas?

Having issues claiming a Google+ Business page (phone number not associated with business address)
When attempting to claim my Google+ account, it asks for the phone number. When I enter the number listed on my business listing, it says that number cannot be found... It then tells me to re-enter all my business info. If I do this, will I lose all my existing photos, videos etc.? Has anyone found this?

Google has indexed a lot of test pages/junk from the development days.
With hind site I understand that this could have been avoided if robots.txt was configured properly. My website is www.clearvisas.com, and is indexed with both the www subdomain and with out. When I run site:clearvisas.com in Google I get 1,330 - All junk from the development days. But when I run site:www.clearvisas.com in Google I get 66 - these results all post development and more in line with what I wanted to be indexed. Will 1,330 junk pages hurt my seo? Is it possible to de-index them and should I? If the answer is yes to any of the questions how should I proceed? Kind regards, Fuad
