Why is my Domain Authority 1?
-
I own the site http://www.artofwar.cc/ I have a 301 redirect rule in place to direct all non-www traffic to www. The site is about 10 years old. We're ranked in the top 20 in Google for around 20-40 search terms that I know of. Google Webmasters lists us as having in excess of 10000 backlinks (though many are subdomained duplicates). Majestic reports 1269 external backlinks, with the best trust/citation flows being around 40/100. Majestic also reports 39 referring domains.
I'm working through crawl errors at the moment. The main high priority ones are 4xx errors, due to the fact that I changed some URL redirect rules a month back and am slowly getting round to changing internal backlinks in the forums. There are no 5xx server errors, which I would think is the most likely reason Rogerbot might fall over crawling the site. Rogerbot has no issues crawling, I've set it up in the phpBB section of the site as a registered bot, and it logs in and crawls for long periods when I manually trigger a crawl.
Can anyone explain why the site might still be at DA 1?

Hi Samantha,
We're experiencing the same issue with a .digital TLD, where the domain authority remains 1.
Do you have any indication of what the timeframe could be for adding more TLD's to Moz Pro and the Site Explorer?
Thanks in advance!
-
Thanks for the quick response Sam, that makes complete sense. When I originally registered the domain name, the TLDs .com, .com.au, and .net were all taken. The .com name was the only one up for sale, but with a price exceeding $10k, I thought better.
Everything else is working fine in the Moz tools by the way, it was just DA that was a little funky

Hi there,
Sam from Moz's Help Team here!
I wish I had better news - I'm afraid we don't currently support custom Top Level Domains (TLD) such as .cc - this would explain why there's no data for this site in our Index (you can check over at Open Site Explorer), and why your DA remains at 1 - we're unable to assign Domain Authority to a site we are unable to index.
Unfortunately, I don't know of a good workaround for this - it's a technical limitation of the tool. I'll make a note to bring it up with our product team - I know we plan to expand the list of TLDs we support, but I'm not sure what kind of timeframe we can expect before new TLDs will be supported. You can find the current list of TLDs that we do support here: https://publicsuffix.org/list/effective_tld_names.dat
I'm sorry about that. If you have any other questions, please do let us know here or via help@moz.com:).

Page Authority higher on my old (redirected) domain than new domain?
Hi everyone. I moved the domain my blog was on about 18 months ago, and it's ranking in Google never recovered. I've noticed in the 'Inbound Links' tool that my old domain (jamescrowley.co.uk) shows a page authority of 26, while my new domain (jamescrowley.net) shows a page authority of 15. Any idea why that would be? 301 redirects have been in place for the whole 18 months, so I'd have thought the authority would have been 'passed on' by now? Many thanks James
