Google cache is for a 3rd parties site for HTTP version and correct for HTTPS
-
If I search Google for my cache I get the following:
- cache:http://www.saucydates.com -> Returns the cache of netball.org (HTTPS page with Plesk default page)
- cache:https://www.saucydates.com -> Displays the correct page
Prior to this my http cache was the Central Bank of Afghanistan. For most searches at present my index page is not returned and when it is, it’s the Net Ball Plesk page. This is, of course hurting my search traffic considerably.
** I have tried many things, here is the current list:**
- If I fetch as Google in webmaster tools the HTTPS fetch and render is correct.
- If I fetch the HTTP version I get a redirect (which is correct as I have a 301 HTTP to HTTPS redirect).
- If I turn off HTTPS on my server and remove the redirect the fetch and render for HTTP version is correct.
- The 301 redirect is controlled with the 301 Safe redirect option in Plesk 12.x
- The SSL cert is valid and with COMODO
- I have ensured the IP address (which is shared with a few other domains that form my sites network / functions) has a default site
- I have placed a site on my PTR record and ensured the HTTPS version goes back to HTTP as it doesn’t need SSL
- I have checked my site in Waybackwhen for 1 year and there are no hacked redirects
- I have checked the Netball site in Waybackwhen for 1 year, mid last year there is an odd firewall alert page.
- If you check the cache for the https version of the netball site you get another sites default plesk page.
- This happened at the same time I implemented SSL
Points 6 and 7 have been done to stop the server showing a Plesk Default page as I think this could be the issue (duplicate content)
** Ideas:**
- Is this a 302 redirect hi-jack?
- Is this a Google bug?
- Is this an issue with duplicate content as both servers can have a default Plesk page (like millions of others!)
- A network of 3 sites mixed up that have plesk could be a clue?
Over to the experts at MOZ, can you help?
Thanks,
David

After 1 month of mixed caches it fixed itself.

PS was your hosting company? If there managed host I would suggest you have them look into the issue requesting force HTTPS

Please verify everything is in Google Webmaster tools for HTTPS
so there are four versions of your site in Webmaster tools pick the version you wish to index in your case will be www. or non-www. HTTPS then fetch as a Googlebot. look for errors.
- http://
- http://www
- https://
- https://www
https://varvy.com/tools/redirects/
screaming frog SEO spider free for The first 500 URLs it will show if there is a problem most likely be very helpful.
https://www.screamingfrog.co.uk/seo-spider/
or https://deepcrawl.com To figure out rather or not it's duplicated content and find possibly broken redirects or missing HSTS
this will confirm you do not have any and redirects.
After doing so if you do have bad redirects you will have to speak to your hosting company or at least share info with us about your server configuration sure that it is set to force HTTPS
See the guides below to make sure you don't have an error somewhere.

If you would like to force the redirect to HTTPS there are three third-party tools that will allow you to do this for any site
You still will want to use deep crawl or screaming frog to check your set up.
I hope this is of help, and the last URL is a free tool.

Having problem with multiple ccTLD sites, SERP showing different sites on different region
Hi everyone, We have more than 20 websites for different region and all the sites have their specific ccTLD. The thing is we are having conflict in SERP for our English sites and almost all the English sites have the same content I would say 70% of the content is duplicating. Despite having a proper hreflang, I see co.uk results in (Google US) and not only .co.uk but also other sites are showing up (xyz.in, xyz.ie, xyz.com.au)The tags I'm using are below, if the site is for the US I'm using canonical and hreflang tag :https://www.xyz.us/" />https://www.xyz.us/" hreflang="en-us" />and for the UK siteshttps://www.xyz.co.uk/" />https://www.xyz.co.uk/" hreflang="en-gb" />I know we have ccTLD so we don't have to use hreflang but since we have duplicate content so just to be safe we added hreflang and what I have heard/read that there is no harm if you have hreflang (of course If implemented properly).Am I doing something wrong here? Or is it conflicting due to canonicals for the same content on different regions and we are confusing Google so (Google showing the most authoritative and relevant results)Really need help with this. Thanks,

Re: Inbound Links. Whether it's HTTP or HTTPS, does it still go towards the same inbound link count?
Re: Inbound Links. If another website links to my website, does it make a difference to my inbound link count if they use http or https? Basically, my site http://mysite.com redirects to https://mysite.com, so if another website uses the link http://mysite.com, will https://mysite.com still benefit from the inbound links count? I'm unsure if I should reach out to all my inbound links to tell them to use my https URL instead...which would be rather time consuming so just checking http and https counts all the same. Thanks.

Http and https protocols being indexed for e-commerce website
Hi team, Our new e-commerce website has launched and I've noticed both http and https protocols are being indexed. www.mountainjade.co.nz Our old website was http with only the necessary pages running https (cart, checkout etc). No https pages were indexed and you couldn't access a https page if you manually typed it into the browser. We outrank our competition by a mile, so I'm treading carefully here and don't want to undo the progress we made on the old site, so I have a few questions: 1. How exactly do we remove one protocol from the index? We are running on Drupal. We tried a hard redirect from https to http and excluded the relevant pages (cart, login etc from the redirect), but found that you could still access https pages if you we're in the cart (https) and then pressed back on the browser button for example. At that point you could browse the entire site on https. 2. Is the safer option to emulate what we had in place on the old website e.g http with only the necessary pages being https, rather than making the switch to sitewide https? I've been struggling with this one, so any help would be much appreciated. Jake S

Does blocking foreign country IP traffic to site, hurt my SEO / US Google rankings?
I have a website is is only of interest to US visitors. 99% (at least) of Adsense income is from the US. But I'm getting constant attempts by hackers to login to my admin account. I have countermeasures fo combat that and am initiating others. But here's my question: I am considering not allowing any non US, or at least any non-North American, traffic to the site via a Wordpress plugin that does this. I know it will not affect my business negatively, directly. However, are there any ramifications of the Google bots of these blocked countries not being able to access my site? Does it affect the rankings of my site in the US Google searches. At the very least I could block China, Russia and some eastern European countries.

Troubled QA Platform - Site Map vs Site Structure
I'm running a Q&A forum that was built prioritizing UX over SEO. This decision has cause a bit of a headache as we're 6 months into the project with 2278 Q&A pages with extremely minimal traffic coming from search engines. The structure has the following hiccups: A. The category navigation from the main Q&A page is entirely javascript and only navigable by users. B. We identify Google bots and send them to another version of the Q&A platform w/o javascript. Category links don't exist in this google bot version of the main Q&A page. On this Google version of the main Q&A page, the Pinterest-like tiles displaying individual Q&As are capped at 10. This means that the only way google bot can identify link juice being passed down to individual QAs (after we've directed them to this page) is through 10 random Q&As. C. All 2278 of the QAs are currently indexed in search. They are just indexed very very poorly in SERPs. My personal assumption, is that Google can't pass link juice to any of the Q&As (poor SERP) but registers them from the site map so it gets included in Google's index. My dilemma has me struggling between two different decisions: 1. Update the navigation in the header to remove the javascript and fundamentally change the look and feel of the Q&A platform. This will allow Google bot to navigate through Expert category links to pass link juice to all Q&As. or 2. Update the redirected main Q&A page to include hard coded category links with 100s of hard coded Q&As under each category page. Make it similar, ugly, flat and efficient for the crawling bots. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I need to find a solution as soon as possible.

In mobile searches, does Google recognize HTML5 sites as mobile sites?
Does Google recognize HTML5 sites using responsive design as mobile sites? I know that for mobile searches, Google promotes results on mobile sites. I'm trying to determine if my site, created in HTML5 with responsive design falls into that category. Any insights on the topic would be very helpful.

Site: on Google
Hello, people. I have a quick question regarding search in Google. I use search operator [site:url] to see indexing stauts of my site. Today, I was checking indexing status and I found that Google shows different numbers of indexed pages depends on search setting. 1. At default setting (set as 10 search result shows) > I get about 150 pages indexed by Google. 2. I set 100 results shows per page and tried again. > I get about 52 pages indexed by Google. Of course I used same page URL. I really want to know which data is accurate. Please help people!!
