Why am in not seeing inbound links
-
In the link analysis of my site, it's not showing inbound links that I know we have? Why is that? I have verified they are still existent.
-
Although it isn't the best - Yahoo Site Explorer is pretty "fresh" and should show them pretty quickly.

Hi Dave,
Bandicoot is correct. However I thought I would just add 1 more thought.
If you are using Linkscape for this analysis this data set is usually a little behind in "freshness" and this could be 1 reason why you are not seeing your links, also I believe Linkscape also trys to cut out some of the cr@p so you might not see some of the lower / spammier links in here.

Hi Dave - each tool that you use to determine inbound links to your site is normally going to show you a different list of links. SEOmoz uses a crawler to index links in it's own index, just like Google does, and Yahoo does as well with their Site Explorer tool. The separate tools will not really ever produce the same list of links. They can be similar, but usually not the same. Usually the most important/heaviest weighted links show up across all tools, but some of the less important ones sometimes get indexed by one tool and not others.

When conducting a link building strategy does it matter the country the link is from?
We are a UK business and if we have links mostly from US based blogs and websites does this penalise us. The links are from relevant websites and topics. Should we be focusing on .co.uk sites

Anchor text or inbound link keyword limits
With google's new algorithm, websites can get punished for keyword stuffing or too many of certain back links...so my question is, is there a limit on the keyword/anchortext used for a website containing a keyword you want the website to rank with?

Does link have any value?
I recently received a link, but upon inspecting the page source on the site I did not see the link in the coding. Is this a link with any SEO value? Is google able to see this link? Note: Upon inspecting the actual link on the page, I do see coding with a followed link, but on the page source, only the actual table in which it is listed shows in the coding, with none of the content - including our link, showing.

Link Building - Affiliate Link Programs
I'm getting some conflicting information when researching this... I want to create the most organic link building strategy that not only gets high authority sites linking to a website, but relevant websites. I'm creating an affiliate link program where I link to partner and affiliate companies, who in turn link back to me. The question is where to put these links. I was initially thinking of putting them in the footer so they add credibility to every page, and in turn ask my affiliates to do the same thing. However; some sources say that Google no longer looks at links in the footer section. Is it true that Google doesn't count links in footer sections? And do you have any tips on creating this Affiliate Link Program?

Footer Links And Link Juice
I'm starting to learn about link juice and notice in GWMT > Traffic > Internal Links, that the list is in this order by the links counted on each page. Some are in the footer and some are in the header, with some being more important than others commercially i.e. /register /privacy /terms /search /sitemap /disclaimer /blog /register So I am wondering if I should add a 'no-follow' attribute to the footer links i.e. privacy, terms, disclaimer and leave the others as they are? Does this help retain link juice on each page where the links appear? Or am I missing the point all together? This is my website: http://goo.gl/CN0e5

Is link exchange a reliable source to get back links?
I read a latest post on seomoz that _“Do not buy or exchange link with anyone who contacts you. This is completely against Google's policies and if they were to find out, you could be penalized." So I went through Google's ''Link Schemes'' and found that ''Excessive link exchanging ("Link to me and I'll link to you")'' can negatively impact a site's ranking . _ So is it the ''excessive'' link exchanging that can cause a negative impact? Exchanging links with good quality, cached sites (without excessive doing) can do good or bad? Can anyone please explain to me in detail?

Inbound Links from Web Pages Based in Other Countries
I have noticed that some of my competitors have in-bound links to their sites from high PageRanked websites. But when I investigate the websites, they are based overseas, to be mainly used for linking. Does it hurt them that the sites are based overseas despite the high Page Rank?
