In Google Analytics > Acquisition > Queries. The top query just says (other), can someone fill me in on to what this means?
-
I have linked the account to the Google Search Console. In top spot is says (other) followed by other keywords the (other) data is the majority.

Hi,
Sorry I am late to the game but I believe the two posters addressed the awful 'not provided' situation. With the Analytics -> Search Query -> (other) is not as bad as it might seem.
The quote below is from https://www.lunametrics.com/blog/2017/11/16/other-in-google-analytics-search-console-reports/
These guys are good ones to follow for analytics.
"Essentially, you’re getting the same data that you would see in Search Console. In Search Console, they actually filter out certain queries for a couple of reasons – if they are low volume or if they contain private information. In that Search Console, they just hide these terms completely.
When they introduced Search Console reports in Google Analytics, they actually chose to show how many queries were being filtered out. Originally called “(Not set)” – they just call that “Other” now."

We have consistently found as of writing this that across all of our clients you can expect to have about 40% of your queries hidden/not provided/(other). This part of Google's logged in chrome users that have opted to protect their data. Here is a guide on other ways to understand this search behavior: https://www.wholewhale.com/tips/6-tips-for-dealing-with-keyword-not-provided/
Also, since you still have visibility on about 60% of your data, you can assume a power law distribution of volume across the keywords you have - remove branded terms in most cases when doing this. Also, you can use your top organic landing pages traffic data to confirm this - which should also reveal conversion value that is hidden from queries.
-
Unfortunately, Google Analytics does not provide keyword data anymore for most queries. You can use the Search Analytics data from the Search Console to learn about the search terms user use to find your website, but you can't link it to Google Analytics data in the sense that it will show conversions for specific keywords from the Search Console.

Is there a way to filter all computers on a specific IPv6 network in Google Analytics?
Is there a quick way of filtering the IP addresses for all the computers on a network that's using IPv6? I want to filter out visits to our websites from the devices on our office network, but each computer (and phone and tablet) seems to have a different address. It _looks _like they all start the same way, though. One computer is xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:aaaa:aaaa:aaaa:aaaa, another is xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:bbbb:bbbb:bbbb:bbbb, my phone is xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:cccc:cccc:cccc:cccc, etc. Does this mean that xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx is the address for our network as a whole, and I can just set up a Google Analytics filter for "IP addresses starting with..."? Or would doing that also filter out hits from, like, every visitor within a 20 mile radius of our office? If I need to simply put in the individual addresses for each and every device, I will. I'm just hoping it doesn't come to that. Thanks!

Strange Traffic Spike In Google Analytics
Over the last two days I have seen a huge spike in the pageviews to my site www.learnbonds.com. Up to this point my average page views per visit has been less than 2. For the last couple of days it has jumped to 5 but the average time on the site has not increased. Upon further investigation under the browser and OS page of google analytics I found that traffic coming from internet explorer and IE with Chrome Frame is reporting 10+ pageviews per visit. Below is a screenshot. Any insight into what might be causing this and how to fix it that the community can provide would be appreciated. Thanks

Can you link several sites together in Google Webmaster Tools?
I have a client saying that there is a way to link 3 separate websites (A website for each department of a company) in Google Webmaster tools to tell Google it's basically one site but really its 3. Or to tell Google it's the same company and all the sites are one. I have never heard of this & I don't see the point in making 3 separate small sites & "linking" them as one in Webmaster tools. Is there in fact a way? Am I out to lunch on what they might be referring to? I am recommending they create one larger authority site with a page on each department & earn links for each department page & provide informative unique content for each page. Thoughts? Thanks for the help!

Panda 3.8 and Google query report
Today I was plugging the SEOMoz Google change log into my analytics and noticed that our site took an impression jump (30%) on the day Panda 3.8 was released but also, if I'm reading the chart right, a drop in keyword avg. ranking. Does this make any sense or am I misunderstanding the chart? googleseomozq.jpg

Good morning from 17 degrees C about to rain again wetherby UK... On this page http://business.leedscityregion.gov.uk/invest/sectors/ there are a number of links that pop open new windows despite being internal links 😞 My question is please... "If an internal link to a site is set to _blank and pops open a new window are there any detrimental affects to google analytics tracking e.g. increased exits etc" Any insights welcome 🙂

Regular Expressions in Google Analytics
I want to use the Google Analytics landing page reports to look at the bounce rate of top level pages excluding the homepage. So pages with urls: www.example.com/example Does anyone know a regular expression that will allow me to do this? Just to clarify I do not want to look at the bounce rate of the homepage or any pages deeper than www.example.com/example e.g: www.example.com/example/example www.example.com/example/example/example etc Thanks in advance
