SERPs for English search terms in Google.es show NY and USA companies?
-
Hey Mozzers,
I'm working for a client offering legal services in Spain for people from the UK.
When I search 'legal services' in Google.es all the SERPs show sites from the US - mainly NY:
There are lots of Spanish sites translated into English and showing sites in Google.es such as http://www.lsosm.org/ offer no value - it's a very weird SERP - any ideas why?
Thanks
Bush

Hi Gareth.
I think it does not matter if you're connected to google.es or google.co.uk, for this case. Think that to most people, google will ask for your location. In this case I think that what could work for you is to use local seo techniques.
In this link you have an article from the MOZ blog to know how to do it.
https://moz.com/blog/local-seo-checklist
You can use the local seo for each city in Spain where there are more inhabitants of the United Kingdom.

Google and connector words
Hello and straight to the point, How does google treat connector words (the, in, on etc) in relation to keywords ? For example if people are searching for "hardware sydney" but the content on the page uses the phrase "hardware in sydney" does this make a difference to the way Google views the page content? Cheers David.

Remove poor performing pages, or leave for google?
Hi - we have a few old pages on our site which were created for SEO purposes a long time ago. They are pretty poor pages and we are rewriting them. However some are no longer relevant. We score "F" on those pages and I imagine google won't like them. Should we delete the page and redirect nicely to the home page, or leave the page there, but remove it from our site? What is best practice for removing old content? Many thanks

Importance of news headlines for their search rankings
Hi there, we're trying to determine how to best write headlines to make our articles more findable. We're a Theater content and ticketing site (theatermania.com) and we're about to publish an article describing outdoor Shakespeare in New York City. We've discussed a few headline options (we automatically use the headline as the page title, although we aren't married to this) below. Are any of these much more findable than the other? For example, are we shooting ourselves in the foot if we lead with "Fill your Summer...." in the first option?
