Extremely slow TTFB (WordPress)
-
Hi guys. I’m not sure if this is a relevant place to post such question, but I’m really desperate. The TTFB on my website is ridiculously slow no matter what I do.
I’m using Apache and the latest version of WordPress on a VPS (NameCheap).
- 2 CPU Cores
- 2 GB RAM
- 40 GB SSD RAID 10
- 1000 GB/mo Bandwidth
GZIP compression is enabled, images are optimized, CSS, JS, HTML optimized, caching enabled (WordPress plugin), CDN is enabled (Cloudflare), PHP updated to the latest version.
As I said, no matter what I do, TTFB remains very slow (most of the time the TTFB of my website is between 1.5 - 3 seconds). Google Page-speed Insights score is 86 for mobile and 95 for desktop (with 1.5s TTFB).
What do I do about it? Will it affect the rankings of my website?
Thank you so much.

For technical matters regarding your hosting and server, I would address a hosting company. For the rest all the speed optimizations (caching, CDN,...) are ok so I wouldn't waste too much time on that anymore. You can maybe check this mobile site tester from Google, but it won't give you much new information.
The pagespeedinsights-report do show a good page speed, so this will not be affecting your rankings.

Unexplainable 404 in my Wordpress Monitor
Hi Guys, We started a new website (far from complete) and i'm fixing some SEO problems. I have a SEO 404 monitor plugin and he gives me strange 404's that i can't find: https://compleetverkleed.nl/feestkleding/www.compleetverkleed.nl/feestkleding

https://compleetverkleed.nl/fee-kostuum/www.compleetverkleed.nl/feestkleding The 404 error code comes due to a double domain URL, and it happens only on the /feestkleding subdomain. When i check my original page, for example https://compleetverkleed.nl/rode-peper-pak/ there is only 1 internal link to /feestkleding but when i click on it, it works fine. Does anyone know how to fix this problem or where to look to see why this is happening? (it happens on every page, not the 4 above > starting to come through in webmastertools also) 2.

Duplicate Titles on Wordpress blog pages
Hi, I have an issue where I am getting for duplicate page titles for pages that shouldn't exist. The issue is on the blog index page's (from 0 - 16) and involves the same set of attachment_id for each page, i.e. /blog/page/10/?attachment_id=minack /blog/page/10/?attachment_id=ponyrides /blog/page/11/?attachment_id=minack /blog/page/11/?attachment_id=ponyrides There are 6 attachment_id values (and they are not ID values either) which repeat for every page on the index now what I can't work out is where those 6 links are coming from as on the actual blog index page http://www.bosinver.co.uk/blog/page/10/ there are no links to it and the links just go to blog index page and it ignores the attachment_id value. There is no sitemap.xml file either which I thought might have contained the links. Thanks

'No Follow' and 'Do Follow' links when using WordPress plugins
Hi all I hope someone can help me out with the following question in regards to 'no follow' and 'do follow' links in combination with WordPress plugins. Some plugins that deal with links i.e. link masking or SEO plugins do give you the option to 'not follow' links. Can someone speak from experience that this does actually work?? It's really quite stupid, but only occurred to me that when using the FireFox add on 'NoDoFollow' as well as looking at the SEOmoz link profile of course, 95% of my links are actually marked as FOLLOW, while the opposite should be the case. For example I mark about 90% of outgoing links as no follow within a link masking plugin. Well, why would WordPress plugins give you the option to mark links as no follow in the first place when they do in fact appear as follow for search engines and SEOmoz? Is this a WordPress thing or whatnot? Maybe they are in fact no follow, and the information supplied by SEO tools comes from the basic HTML structure analysis. I don't know... This really got me worried. Hope someone can shed a light. All the best and many thanks for your answers!

What to do with extremely high number of URLs on your site?
Here is the situation: The site has tons of business and personal profiles, the information needed to be categorized as such directories were created in an attempt to keep the URL structure clean - so for example: www.abc.com/product/um/name-here/city-name/state/lastname:3458765 Each profile has a unique ID#, and for some reason there needed to be a category for a user in this case /um/ stands for user name. Webmaster tool steps to resolve state to use an rel=canonical which can be done for that directory /um/ but I am concerned about the bot not being able to find the other pages beyond that directory, like the profile name, city, state associated. So I guess my ultimate question is if I use rel=canonical will the rest of the content not get crawled or indexed as well?
