What MOZ domain authority are considered bad links?

As a general rule of thumb, what MOZ domain authority are considered bad links? Ie., is it for sites that are 20 and below?
What is the DA floor where you should target links from?

Agree!

Hi there,
You have a great answer from Chris, so I'll just add a few other points:
- Bad links can often have a high DA because someone may be leveraging a high DA website to spin out spammy links. For example, someone may drop spammy links onto a high DA forum. So be sure to look outside of DA when looking for low-quality links.
- DA is a Moz metric and whilst it is designed to help mimic what Google may use to score the authority of a website, it isn't what Google uses. So keep an eye on Google Search Console to see what links are reported by Google and do a manual check of these to see if you have any bad links.
- If you're building links, then using a minimum DA score can be useful when sorting and prioritising link targets. For example, if you have a list of 100 potential link targets, you could narrow that list down by sorting from high to low DA. But as Chris said, keep an eye on relevance too.
Hope that helps!
Paddy

Hi jspinder,
There's really no "bad DA", only bad sites. For example, a new site with low DA may end up being a better site for a link relationship than an old site with low DA. A domain with great DA may not be suitable for you to get a link from because it's its content is not relevant to yours, while a site with much lower DA may be a great site to earn a link from because it is directly relevant to your niche.
If you're a new site, look for relevance to your market before you look for DA. A small, relevant site with low DA is often much more likely to work with another small site and give "good" link than will a site with high DA--just because, that's how things work out there.
Learn your market. Learn your competitors. Learn the companies in your market that are complementary to your site. DA is a reflection of how good/creative of a businessperson you are in the real world. Backlinks and DA and rankings are really just a reflection of that.

My site is linked from over 900 "The Globe"-domains - disavow or not?
Hi! As some of you may be familiar with, there is a giant spam-network with the same design and same page title on all domains: "The Globe - The world's most visited web pages". For example: theglobe.at

www.internet-search.us I've now discovered that over 900 of these spam-domains link to my site. My plan was of course to disavow them all, but Google is explicit on telling me to be careful. «Only disavow if you are certain that the links are damaging to your rankings». And to be honest, I'm not sure. Also: it seems drastic to disavow almost a thousand pages. I'm afraid to mess something up. What would you do?3 -
AllTop Linking Me to Other Sites Feeds, Webmasters Reporting Lots of Broken Links
I submitted my blog to All Top awhile ago and something seems to be wrong with their feed. They're sending people to mysite.com/truth-o-meter.com/this-is-a-post. It's not just truth-o-meter either. I'm getting links that are supposed to go to all kinds of political blogs. As a result, I'm getting a ton of broken links reported on Google Webmasters. I couldn't find any real support option on alltop.com, and when I log in, there are no sites for me to manage. Instead, I resubmitted the site with the correct feed address and in the comments, I mentioned the problem. All I got was a message saying the site was rejected. I believe because I already added the site. But I'm thinking they didn't pay attention to the comments. (In fact the message may have gone through an auto-filter considering how quickly it was rejected.) Is there a way to solve this? Is this a situation in which I would use the disavow tool? If All Top continues to create bad links, how do I stop the issue once and for all? Thanks!

Backlink level of domain authority
Hi, we are trying to build on the number of good quality links. One idea we had is to provide testimonials for a number of suppliers websites. Which would include a link from our company name back to our site. Is there a certain level of domain authority we should only do this for? For example if a supplier only has a domain authority of 11 should we not get a back link? Many Thanks

Linking to press coverage, reciprocal links?
We have been generating decent online press coverage with links to our site thanks to our PR agency and I have been asked to link to the online coverage from our website in a 'press coverage' section. My question is would google consider links from our site to the online press coverage as reciprocal links? Thanks

Linking to root domain or specific sub-site
Hello, When optimizing for multiple keywords, should I try to get links back to the root domain of the company I work with, or would it be better to link back to sub-sites specific to the keyword I am optimizing for? Does 'getting the root up' help all keywords I work with? Cheers, Mike

Linkbuilding from sites with lower Domain Authority and Page Rank than mine?
I have decided to approach all my suppliers and ask them for a link. If their site has a lower PR/DA than mine (PR4, DA43) is is it still worth asking them from a link, given the time that needs to be invested in this type of link building?
