Is warriorforum.com information reliable?

I see lots of ads like "Boost Your Trust Rank with pure .EDU Anchor Text Backlinks"
Is this for real? And if it is what's the real value of such links? I assume they would be from some spam comments on some .edu blogs...right?
Is it worth going this route?
Thank you!

I've spoken with several people who fell prey to the 'specials' on that forum. At best, you may see marginal results if you're targeting keywords with ultra-low competition. At worst, your site will get penalized heavily (rankings-wise) for a high number of spammy links popping up over a short period of time.

Warrior Forum is sadly a self-perpetuating tank filled with sharks and shark-food. Mostly shark-food.

WarriorForum, like any other forum, is only as good as the member that is contributing. Once you're around any forum for long enough, you start to get a sense of who the reputable, intelligent, and honest members are. Members with lots of reputation points are usually a bit more trustworthy than newer members, or members with negative reputations.
The Q&A forum you're on right now is, in my opinion, one of the best remaining places on the Internet to ask questions and engage in discussions related to SEO. These parts are policed way more than most forums, and in my opinion, the intelligence level of the average member is much higher than some of the other forums out there.
I also really like SEOChat, but the quality of that forum has admittedly declined over the last few years - in particular, I see EGOL and JV Rudnick posting more on the SEOmoz Q&A than SEOChat, and they were always dishing out some of the most valuable advice. So...you might just be in the right place.

Thanks Anthony!
So is it safe to assume that the warriorforum.com is a bad choice?
Kind of crazy to see all those people talking about various "strategies" out there and believing in them...

Your assumption that you would get a bunch of blog comments from .edu websites is correct. Most of them will be nofollow. Many of them will have comments sections ridden with thousands and thousands of spam links. Some of them will be on .edu websites from foreign countries. All of them will be garbage.
I know that you already knew the answer to this question, deep down. It's okay - I think all of us at some point need to be steered away from one of those "too good to be true" link building propositions. Building great links is hard work, and there aren't any real shortcuts if you want to do it the right way. As the saying goes, "Money, Time, Results. Pick two."

.com geotagging redirect to subdomains - will it affect SEO?
Hi guys, We have a .com domain and we've got geoIP on it, so UK goes to .co.uk and USA goes to .com/us We're just migrating over to another platform so we're thinking of keeping a "dummy" server just to do this geoIP pointing for us. Essentially .com will just point over to the right place and hold a specific .com/abc (which is generic for everyone worldwide) Current Scenario:

.com (Magento + geoIP)
.com/us (US Magento)
.co.uk (UK - geoIP redirect to Shopify)
.com/abc (sits on Magento server) Wanted Scenario:
.com - used for GEOIP and a specific .com/abc (for all users)
.co.uk (UK) - Shopify eCom
.com/us -> migration to us.xx.com (USA) - Shopify eCom I just wanted to know if this will affect our rankings on google? Also, any advice as to the best practises here would be great. Thanks! Nitesh0 -
Strange referral site: www.cyberonlineclicking.com would like some insights from the community
Hello Mozzers! I've noticed that our site has been receiving a significant amount of referral traffic from a rather suspect looking site: www.cyberonlineclicking.com Can anyone shed any light on this beast. Stopped receiving traffic around 11th November, but was getting 20K sessions over a 4 week period. The traffic was of poor quality, but would be good to know how or why they were linking to my site (fejobs dot com). Looks very suspicious. Thanks Justin

Sponsoredreviews.com , anyone ever used it?
I came across this site http://www.sponsoredreviews.com/, thought its idea was a place were you can offer your product to be reviewed by bloggers, (fairly white hat I would have thought), I had a quick look and it seemed to me its for for selling back links on blogs, but before I dismissed it completely I just wanted to see if anyone else had any experience with it? Update: if this website is no good, are there any genuine places were you can offer you products for review?

Is it okay to use hiddencontaining meta information that is a video transcript?
I have been using the tools at DotSub.com to transcribe our YouTube videos. They are free, work really great and I highly recommend them. Today I received an email from DotSub with recommendations for SEO on video. I have a question about #5 on their list. Here it is: "Step 5: Embed the video transcript into the non-visible meta-data of the page" "Always embed the video transcript in the page meta-data This is done by placing

the content of the transcription within a non-visible HTML element (a hidden
div). While most search engines do not weight non-visible content as high as
visible content, this will still provide additional SEO for your page. Do
this whether you include the full transcript visibly on your page or not." This is something I have never heard before. And, like many of you, I have always heard that putting anything "hidden" in the HTML is a very bad idea. Is this different? Do any of you do this? Is it really a recommended technique? Thanks all! Blogspot or Wordpress.com Redirect?
I have multiple domains with the same registrar. Is there an SEO benefit to create complimentary blogs on blogspot, wordpress.com or other "free" blog sites and forward these domains with the purpose of backlinking to the main site?
