Forum posting link building

Is answering questions on yahoo answers and forums genuine link building opportunity? I dont mean spamming much, but being a genuine member of the forums
-
I think being a genuine member of a forum can be helpful, though it can also be time consuming to become a real member of the community and participate even when you're not getting an immediate link. One helpful part of becoming a member of the community that is related to your client/site is that you get a feel for the questions that people ask, current problems in the field, and can get a lot of ideas for content and products that are needed in that field.

Not an expert but from what I have ready I would say it all depends on the site in question. Maybe Yahoo answer isn;t that good as it can be spammed alot.
If you link for say Clothes appears on a Database forum, then it might not get that much athority because the site is off topic and the users are not really there for clothes.
However if your Clothes link appeard on a Armani forum, it might be relevant to the users and as such hold a bit more weight.
Thats my take on it.
Anyone else know more/better?

13 New Quality Back Links But Little Improvement in DA and PA-WHY?
Since September 13 sites have linked to our real estate website. MOZ domain authority of these sites ranks from 45-83. MOZ page authority ranges from 25-36. Six of these links were created in the last 3 weeks. The remainder have been live since Late September/October. Our domain authority has only increased from 18 to 19 since September. Our site has only 805 linking domains. Why has the increase in domain authority been so little? I have read that domain authority it algorithmic and that improving up to 25 is not too difficult. A few notes about the incoming links: -11 of the 13 do not rank for any keywords, 1 ranks for 20 keywords and one ranks for 1 keyword.

-One has 12 inbound links, three have 1 inbound links and the remaining 11 have no inbound links.
-One has 4 linking domains, three have one linking domains and the reaming 11 having no linking domains.
-7 of the 13 are listing in Google Search Console. The remaining 7 are not.
-Only 3 of the 13 are shown as MOZ linking domains to our website.
-Website traffic has increased somewhat since link building began.
-There has was initially some improvement in ranking but that has dropped off. From the metrics above, does anything sound deficient about these links? Is the fact that they are not being picked up by MOZ a negative sign or is it just an indication that MOZ's link index is rather incomplete? How about the fact that the links are not indicated in Google Search Console? Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,

Disavowing links and disavow tool
Hello, I have had a look on webmaster tools and Moz and can see lots of bad links on Moz only. I am thinking whether to disavow them and was wondering if you could you let me know if it is possible to have a look at your current disavow file? I do not currently know what links were included the previous time. Is there a way to check if there are any links in the file at all? I thought I would raise this question as there is a lot of negative info about the disavow tool.

Why are not nofollowed links counted in On-Page Analysis Report?
When I run the On-Page Analysis on our homepage, the report says the page has 238 **"Internal followed links". ** Why are not nofollowed internal links counted as well? Nofollowed links have been leaking link juice for quite some time now. Martin

In the middle of Link Building campaign! Do you think Dog Blogs are a good Idea?
Hello Again, Here's I thing, my main website is my Digital Web Agency www.FenwayMedia.co.uk but I also hold good affinity with dog lovers on Facebook over 2100 friends and have a website www.Sepperro.com dedicated to my kennel of 9 racing Siberian huskies. In return I would give them exposure to my dog mediums (articles, links etc.) My only slight concern was relevance. However my thinkning is that as a Digital Agency surely you would be expected to have links coming from all sorts of sources as you "may" have had some input into the development of their site/ marketing etc. What do you guys think? Thank you once again. Kind Regards, Craig

OpenSiteExplorer is not seeing all my inbound links
I know I have back links to my site from about 5 or 6 websites and most of them even show in my Google webmaster account but according to OSE I only have 1 inbound link. Is it normal for the OSE stats to be wrong? I really want to use it but am worried the info isn't going to be accurate.

Individual Link Value
We understand the PA, DA, trust and all of that. My question is, is there a process or formula anyone uses that shows an individual links value as to the link juice it passes. The old Domain Juice seemed to be that, but after further investigation (And Rand setting me straight) I now understand it's not a good metric. Today, we use PA divided by the number of external links on that page to get some sense of an individual links actual value to the site or page we link to. I understand this is a very sloppy system, but seems to be the only choice we have? It's based on this simple thought. If you get a back link on two different pages, and both are equal in every way, except one has 3 outbound links and the other has 30, the link from the page with 3 will be significantly stronger as far as passing juice. So... anyone using something to determine an individual links value? I did ask the SEO staff, and they do not current have it.
