How do data feeds work in product selection
-
Hi – I don't know if this is an SEO matter or not, but I have data feeds to Google, Bing and thefind.com for all of my products.
I have no idea if these feeds help. My guess is that they do not generate much business. For example if I type in "Brass Bookends" our products usually don't show up until the late pages. Using this as an example does anyone know how these sites select the order in which they display products? Another way to phrase this is what makes thefind.com show a competitor's brass bookends several pages before ours?
FYI we have been doing these data feeds for a year on a consistent basis so being new shouldn't be a factor. Any insights will be most appreciated.
Thanks.
Don.

How does OSE select top 10,000 links
Quick question about OSE, if you are extracting with excel all inbound links from a big site like IMDB.com, OSE only exports 10,000. However IMDB has alot more links then that. I was wondering what criteria does OSE use to select those 10,000 links from the 100,000+ which IMDB has. Is it a random selection of those 10,000 links or does it select those 10,000 links based on metrics like DA or PA? For the settings i have selected: followed + 301s, only external, pages on this root domain, group by domain. Cheers, Chris

Open Site Explorer is showing "No Data" for my page titles under the "Top Pages" Tab
This is for my site: www.kibin.com/ Does this mean there is something wrong with how we're titling our pages? We're working on our on-page SEO, titles, meta descriptions this week and getting them up to snuff. I don't understand what is going on here or if it's something to be worried about. Thanks!

How Does On Page Analysis work
Hi guys, I just need to run something past you. when I look at my on page analysis I have 5 key terms I am focusing on. For instance one of them is "computer backup". According to the report the current grade is 'F' when looking at site page "/" which I assume is the home page.
Moz Pro | | cubetech
When I do a lookup on other pages of the site it gets a ranking of A. Which is good. But since the hompage ranking went from A to F my rankings have definitely been affect. So i guess my questions are: does "/" mean the hompage, or all pages overall. What should I really be looking at here. I am assuming that you select certain pages to target certain key words. Should i be focusing like this, or more to the "/". Thanks Guys hoping to clear this one up.0 -
Open Site Explorer Data
Good afternoon SEOmoz, I first want to congratulate with you for the amazing new look and new features of Open Site Explorer, it's an amazing and valuable tool that I use every day and that has helped me build tons of links for my clients. I have been keeping track of the OPE data on a monthly base and I just noticed something strange. In May 2011, OSE was showing that my client's website had 12,624 links, in July 2011 the website had 14,157 links and today I just ran a new report that showed just 6,401 links. I don't want to believe that in 2 months we lost half of the links, so I was wondering if you guys can give me more insights about this data.

Did SEOMoz change the way they measure the number of links? Or is this just a bug or issue they are having with the new version of OSE? Thanks!0
