Ways to decrease the bounce rate
-
I am under the impression that bounce rate is a good indicator to Google as to whether the site is relevant to the user. I think that it probably has quite a lot of impact on ranking.
So I thought I would start a discussion as to good ways to decrease bounce rate?

Good question! In my opinion, A/B and multivariate tests are a good way to increase bounce rates. Often, adding a few images, adding bullet points, breaking up your text in smaller paragraphs can help decrease bounce rate.
What you should keep in mind, though, is that different kind of traffic tends to have different bounce rates. So facebook, twitter, digg, stumbleupon ... normally have quite high bounce rates. The same goes for RSS feeds: if people suscribe to your blog, often they will come to your page just to read the one article, without browsing your site. It can therefore help to include links to other parts of your sites, related blog posts, and with a call to action in your blog post.
For reducing bounce rates of Google (or other search engine) organic traffic, you should aim for page titles that relate to the content of the page. When someone clicks on a search result, they will at least have read the title. Now if your h1 is very different from that, chances are, people will leave your site right away, assuming it does not offer what they are looking for.
The same goes for PPC. Make sure your ad copy matches the landing page. In order to achieve this, split your keywords in different ad groups, according to the topic. Then tailor the ads towards the keywords and the landing page. PPC also allows you to run a lot of experiments, so take advantage of this and apply what you learn from it to other areas.

Facebook is now only allowing owners of FB pages (not admins) to create keys for a WP blog post syndication. Is there a way around this?
I hired a contractor to configure a WP plugin to syndicate FB, G+, Twitter and standard WP posts. He is using NextScripts: Social Networks Auto-Poster. He came back to me saying that FB is now only allowing direct owners (not admins) of FB pages to create keys. This means I have to give my client's personal FB access to a third party contractor. I'm not comfortable asking my client to do this. Does anybody know of a way around this? Is there a way to create a FB key with just admin access? Thanks

Is there a way to redirect URLs with a hash-bang (#!) format?
Hi Moz, I'm trying to redirect www.site.com/locations/#!city to www.site.com/locations/city. This seems difficult because anything after the hash character in the URL does not make it to the server thus cannot be parsed for rewriting. Is there an SEO friendly way to implement these redirects? Thanks for reading!

Any way of showing missed sales in Google Analytics?
Sit down, this might get a little complicated... I was approached by a design company to do some SEO work a client of theirs. Usually, this stuff is white label but I have direct contact with the client as the design agency felt it was easier for me to do this. The website is performing really well and looking at the sales funnel, I'm getting people wanting to buy. BUT, and here's the problem, everything falls apart because of the way the check out works. It's appalling. The customer has to register to buy a product, there's no guest check out or anything. The checkout button is right below the fold and you'd miss it completely if you didn't actually search for it. Basically, it's losing the client money. Last month alone there were 300~ people entering the conversion funnel and NONE of them complete it. I've been talking with the design company and they basically saying that it's too much work for them to change it, it's a signed off project blah blah. UI reports have been conducted and sent to them but still nothing. I have the client asking (a great client, obviously wondering why there is a lack of return on his investment) why he isn't making money. He's asking me because I'm the guy thats meant to be getting him the cash back. I keep saying to the design agency the problems and that it's never going to make money. The potential is massive. But thats my problem. Is there ANY way in GA to calculate the missed sales? I know that I can view the total amount made when the customer successfully checks out but I need figures to present that I'm leading the horse to water, but the check out system is preventing it from drinking. tl;dr I need to show client/design agency missed sales due to poorly built checkout system. Cheers!

Best Ways to Handle a Website for Different Country Locations?
Currently our website is being redesigned into a CMS for our Headquarters in the US. We have three other locations. Germany, UK and Australia. Each Location has there own domain and hosting in there designated country. How safe will it be to upload our New Headquarters site to each of our different locations? I would like to stay uniform throughout. The content would be similar, but translated to the correct language. And some of the products would be different. Will this be a pretty easy process and will this cause any duplication issues? Are there any suggestions or MUST DO's for localization websites? The website is being designed with Wordpress and Magento as a custom CMS.
