Google analytics - help

Hello,
What is meant by campaign expiration in Google analytics ? The default value is 6 months. what does it mean ?
-
To track the results of your campagnes (in Analytics) on the internet you can add some Analytics code to links. For example ' utm_campaign=summer2011' . When visitors reach your site via a link which contains the Analytics code " utm_campaign=summer2011", Analytics will allocate this visit to this (self defined) campagne.
Google Analytics stores the type of referral information in a cookie. The expiration date for the cookie is set as 6 months into the future.

Atul Sharma,
from what it looks like, from this thread: http://code.google.com/apis/analytics/docs/gaJS/gaJSApiCampaignTracking.html#gat.GA_Tracker._setCampaignCookieTimeout
That a campaign you might have setup is about to expirer. By default the campaign tracks for a 6 month time period. If you click the _setCampaignCookieTimeout button when you land on the page, you can read more info on the topic. I am not an analytics expert I just Googled your topic and read around and found this. I hope it helps.

How do we reset it ?
-
You just need to reset it.
-
So, does it mean that campaign will be expired after 6 months and we won't be able to track the campaign.
-
It's something to do with setting campaigns through the URL builder tool isn't it?

Google Analytics direct traffic dropped by 50% after switching to https
Hi, everyone, have a little dilemma and was hoping to get some advice here. I recently installed a new SSL (3 months ago) to force our URL to start with https://. The site was earlier accessible through https:// and http:// prefix however now I have made it so that all urls are redirected to the correct https:// version. The problem is that direct traffic has dropped by more than 50% after implementing these changes and I can for the life of me figure out why. Why would the direct traffic drop all of sudden after making these changes? I am starting to suspect that the earlier data was inflated and that Google analytics was counting users coming from a http:// version of the URL to a https:// version of the URL was counted as direct traffic. Could that be it? Any other possible causes? Would really appreciate any guidance on this problem. Thanks

Is there a way to apply the same google analytics filter to multiple properties?
I manage WordPress multiple sites for my clients. Some of these clients are SEO customers. One issue I have with the analytics reports is the occurrence of spam and ghost spam. I know how to create filters to block however there are always more and more. Is there away to export the filter and import it to all the other properties i manage? Or do they just have to be done manually every time i need to block spam?

Advanced Segment on Google Analytics
Hello there, hope everyone is allright and rockin' the SEO world 🙂 Was wondering if anyone could give a tip on how to configure an 'Advanced Segment' on Google Analytics. Basically I need to isolate traffic for 4 specific subfolders. E.g. www.mywebsite.com/solutions/A www.mywebsite.com/solutions/B www.mywebsite.com/solutions/C www.mywebsite.com/solutions/D/part1 Please note that the website has more pages under the specific section. E.g www.mywebsite.com/solutions/Z www.mywebsite.com/solutions/D/part2 but I only need to isolate the 4 directories (and their own sub-folders) mentioned above. Any idea how I could do this? Thanks a lot Joe

Keep multiple Google Analytic / Webmaster accounts seperate?
Hi, I have a paranoid suspicion that putting all my websites on one Webmaster / Analytic account will mean any links between my sites won't carry any weight, and Google might consider similar content much more readily if 2 of my sites are in the same market. So I have about 4 different accounts with my main sites split across them. Am I being over paranoid? Do any of you have any problem with all your sites being on the same account?
