Frequency of the Campaign reports
-
Hello there,
I would like to know the frequency of the New Rankings and On-page reports for the campaigns that we set up. We received our last campaign report on 3rd September for all the 5 campaigns. We also received 2 reports again on 9th September. Can you please let me know how often do we get these reports and can we manage to receive them every week or fortnight.
Best Regards
Sandeep

Hi Kostas
A quick note that Sha isn't a staff member and doesn't have visibility into your campaign (though she's an awesome part of our community and we're so happy to have her here!). For this it's probably time to email help@seomoz.org and see if they can shed some light on what happened. I'm an associate, but don't have that type of view into your account either.
The post that she's referring to with details about the crawl outage is at http://www.seomoz.org/blog/crawl-outage and we're keeping it updated as we have more information. Also, keep an eye on the SEOmoz Twitter account, as we'll post there when there are updates to the post.

Hi Sha,
I have looked into my previous reports and the last one i received was on 9th of September. I didn't receive any reports for the last two weeks for any of the campaigns. I even checked the campaign settings to make sure i did not made any changes to the email alerts. Can you please explain to me why this has happened.
Best regards
Sandeep

Hi Sandeep,
Keyword Rankings are updated every Wednesday and On-page reports are available on demand for any keyword that is loaded in your campaign and any page that you choose to enter.
Crawls Diagnostics are usually updated weekly on whichever day of the week you originally set up the crawl, but crawling is currently disabled due to a major outage on the weekend. There is a post in the Blog about the outage, which SEOmoz staff are updating from time to time to keep us all in the loop.
Once crawls are re-enabled things will go back to the normal weekly crawl schedule.
Hope that helps,
Sha

The Pros & Cons of Free SEO Reports
Are the numerous Free SEO reports that are available around the internet, where I simply put a website address in and wait for the results actually any good? I tend to stick with Moz & Semrush which takes a little time pulling all the information I need together, but many of our clients are being approached by SEO's waving these free reports at them. Should I see these reports as valid, or ignore them and only concentrate on Moz. Any views will be greatly appreciated. -Christina

Moz campaign works around my robots.txt settings
My robots.txt file looks like this: User-agent: * Disallow: /*? Disallow: /search So, it should block (deindex) all dynamic URLs. If I check this url in Google: site:http://www.webdesign.org/search/page-1.html?author=47 Google tells me: A description for this result is not available because of this site's robots.txt – learn more. So far so good. Now, I ran a Moz SEO campaign and I got a bunch of duplicate page content errors. One of the links is this one: http://www.webdesign.org/search/page-1.html?author=47 (the same I tested in Google and it told me that the page is blocked by robots.txt which I want) So, it makes me think that Moz campaigns check files regardless of what robots.txt say? It’s my understanding User-agent: * should forbid Rogerbot from crawling as well. Am I missing something?

Does it make sense to have multiple campaigns for one website?
I'm new to SEO and SEOMoz. While setting up my campaigns, I was a bit confused. Do I need to setup separate campaigns for different pages of my site? For example, I run a proofreading service: www.kibin.com I obviously want to track keyword on the main page (like proofreading service), however, I also want to track keywords (like 'essay editing') on www.kibin.com/essay-editing Should these be two separate campaigns or do I just put all the keywords into one campaign for kibin.com? Thanks!

Number of links shown in history report are going down?
I'm looking at the link history for my site and 3 competitors I am tracking and for all sites External followed links have dropped by about 40% over the last 2 months. Has anyone else seen this with their sites? What would be possible reasons for this? Thanks,

SEOMoz reports and 404 errors
My SEOMoz report shows a 404 error, found today for this url: http://globalheavyhaul.com/google.com i do not have this anchor text anywhere on my website. How did Roger figure out that somebody looked for that page? Do I need to worry about 404 errors that are the result of user mistakes, instead of actual bad links?

Is there a way to get the SEO campaign crawl to run from outside the US?
We are working on a international site that uses IP redirection. I am currently trying to crawl and monitor the Australian version of the site, however the pro-campaign crawler is running from the US and only giving me US data. Is there a way to tell the crawler to run through a local proxy so we can track international versions? Thanks!

Campaign 4XX error gives duplicate page URL
I ran the report for my site and had many more 4xx errors than I've had in the past month. I updated my .htaccess to include 301 statements based on Google Webmaster Tools Crawl Errors. Google has been reporting a positive downward trend in my errors, but my SEOmoz campaign has shown a dramatic increase in the 4xx pages. Here is an example of an 4xx URL page: http://www.maximphotostudio.net/engagements/266/inniswood_park_engagements/http:%2F%2Fwww.maximphotostudio.net%2Fengagements%2F266%2Finniswood_park_engagements%2F This is strange because URL: http://www.maximphotostudio.net/engagements/266/inniswood_park_engagements/ is valid and works great, but then there is a duplicate entry with %2F representing forward slashes and 2 http statements in each link. What is the reason for this?
