Say from a pr 9 site like yahoo

How long does it take for a link to appear in ose ?

Best case a week, worst case 10 weeks.

The SEOmoz crawler takes 2-3 weeks to crawl the web, and 1-2 weeks to process the data once the crawl has been completed.

In a worst-case scenario, your link is built after the first day of the crawl, and the page upon which the link was placed was crawled on day 1.

I will also add web sites do not have "PR", web pages do. You can have a PR10 site such as dmoz with a link to your site which is never discovered because the page upon which the link is placed is buried so many levels deep the page has too low of a PR to be crawled.

With the above understood, if a link was created on a PR9 web page, Google would surely discover the link within hours and the site would gain the benefit of the link immediately.

Abnormal crawl issues appearing in my Moz results

I have been asked to look at a site for a friend and was more than surprised to see 16,9k crawl issues appear in the dashboard... of this 6,238 are duplicate page content and 5878 are duplicated page titles. What on earth is going on? I have spoken to the web developer as it appears there is a dev site somewhere and this is his response [Can I stress that Google determines which site was in the index first and then removes other sites it sees as having duplicate content. Our dev sites appearing in the search index would not affect your ranking due to duplicate content as Google would see your site as the first site with the content] As I cannot make contact with him, I am scratching my head, surely a dev site should be no-indexed, it sounds as though he is saying that its ok because Google will take the main site as the first site with the content... Question on redirect and internal link count

After crawl I saw that dup content came from domain.com/index.php and domain.com. I was going to redirect one of them but im curious which way to go. The /index.php has domain auth of 19, the other 17, so not big difference. Domain.com has 2 external linking domains and index.php has 1. The big difference is in the internal link counts where index.php has 76 and the other only 4. So should I direct index.php to / or the other way around?

Why is my internal followed links is 0?

My internal followed links is 0. Also for top pages the report say "block by robots.txt" but the Moz bot is able to crawl my site and generate report for 10K pages. Please help me understand why. http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/comparisons?site=www.findyogi.com

Site Explorer shows links as followable but they have nofollow tags

Hello, I am looking at site explorer and sites linking to my site moneyfact.co.uk. I've got thousands of links showing as 'followable' but when i check them they have rel="nofollow" tags. e.g: http://www.dianomioffers.co.uk/partner/moneyfacts.co.uk/brochures.epl?partner=93&partner_id=93&partner_variant_id=33 Why would they show as followable when the links are nofollowed? Open Site Explorer and link numbers

I know this question has been asked many times in this forum but I still can't work it out. Why does this link: http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/links?page=1&site=www.bookpal.com.au&sort=page_authority&filter=&source=external&target=subdomain&group=0 Which is showing all links, external, to pages "on this sub domain" show 1,935 external links but this link: http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/links?page=1&site=www.bookpal.com.au&sort=page_authority&filter=follow&source=external&target=subdomain&group=0 which is exactly the same but this time shoing followed + 301 links, says "showing 1 - 50 external links) but won't show the total links (and I know the mouse-over on the question mark says it's won't show the total links, but I don't understand why it can't show the total links when it could show the total links when I requested to see "all links" instead of just "followed+301" links.) but it actually lists 700 links (14 pages, 50 results each page). I know the link list is limited to 25 links per domain but then it means you can NEVER know the total link count unless you download the full report. This makes using OSE to know numbers of links (internal, external, or otherwise) impossible. And if anyone uses the API, why the API (external+follow) returns 1,451 links? I'm sure it's an ongoing issue with people trying to get their head around all of this and I've never really been able to. Any insight would be much appreciated!

Tracking External Followed Inbound Links - Are We Getting Fooled?

This question is not about how to use SEOMOZ Link tools. It's about the numbers themselves and how their fluctuations are causing confidence issues.... My client wants to track inbound followed links over time. But as I understand it, this number will vary depending on the Linkscape crawling success (or even outages or partial crawls.) In the past few reports, we've had wild fluctuations which have made them very nervous. If my client wants to track inbound followed links over time, what SEOMOZ metric should we use for the most reliable progress checks?

Latest OSE Update - Strange Numbers and Links

Hey everyone. I just checked our website in OSE with the latest update and noticed some strange numbers. The number of linking domains skyrocketed from 300 to 785 which definitely caught me off guard. Like all good SEOers I work hard to get links, but in a typical month I usually get between 40 and 50. To suddenly jump up by over 300 seems odd. Digging deeper, I noticed that some of the incoming link domains could be considered less than trustworthy (pages filled with links), while others I couldn't find at all on the page in question. I also never ever asked for any of these links, nor did anyone on my team. Should I be worried? I've heard of websites who purposely gain bad links to their competitors in order to penalize them. Is there an easy way to find out if this is going on? Could this possibly be a problem with OSE and just reporting non-existant links? Thanks for your feedback! Strange metrics : Internal Followed Links 0

Hi All, I don't understand the metrics for this website http://www.tntaccess.fr : http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/www.tntaccess.fr%252F/a!metrics There is 0 internal followed links, is it normal? because there are internal followed links for this website. Or there is something I dont understand. It is penalizing for the website? how do we correct this? does it come from the robot text file? Thanks a lot for your help Anne
