How can I get ranking keys of competitors

Sometimes it might be clever to analyse the stategy of a competitor to see with which keys they rank successfully. For example I have a webshop, so I type in amazon.com and seomoz spits out: books, dvds, ... I can now see with what keys i wont have a chance and can think of missing keys where my chance might be. Is there a possibility to find out with seomoz?

Lots of good answers. Easier would be, if there was a tool. can't be that difficult. Maybe an idear for the team...?

Check their keyword metatags and titles... the keyword listed there are the ones they want to rank for. Then launch a rank checker to see how they perform.

both great tools. SEOmoz has a ton of tools as well.. if you setup campaigns, you can also add competitors and track their wins / fails as well.

The term extractor tool is very useful, and I use semrush.com if I want to check what a competitor ranks highest for.

Not sure if this is part of the PRO package or available to all, but http://www.seomoz.org/term-extractor and the Keyword Difficulty Tool are both helpful.
A shameless plug for SEOmoz here is I have never regretted having the pro membership.

Rankings confusion in pro campaign
Hello Moz-world! I recently set up a new campaign, and the crawl is still in the process of wrapping up (been 4 days). When I look at my rankings it tells me "not in the top 50" then when I scroll over, it shows me that my client is ranking in position 3, in the instance of one keyword. Anyone know why there is a discrepancy between what the report shows, and what it shows when you mouse over the rankings? Thanks! Tyler

Why am I getting different ranking results on Google?
Because the rank checker on SEOMOZ is temporarily down for upgrade, I followed the link over to the other suggested rank checker on seobook.com which installs a plug-in to Firefox and it seems to be working fine….BUT my question is when I check out my two highest traffic keywords which are “Whitby holiday cottages” and “Whitby cottages” against my website www.endeavourcottage.co.uk it tells me I'm ranking position 2 on both Google.com and Google.co.uk but I don't think I am. When I do the same check using a proxy server called hidemyass.com to check my rankings again on Google.co.uk and .com I appeared to be lower down the rankings like position 8. Does anyone have any idea of which is the accurate reference to my rankings? What do you do to check your rankings ? And one last quick secondary question is when I searching Google chrome using same key words again I come at the top position A on the Google maps listing but using Firefox or Internet Explorer there is no Google maps visible ways that? At the end of the day out rankings are important but where are working towards more traffic...... Cheers

How I plan to go about getting business - what do you think?
I prepared a real professional looking website analysis packet. The emphasis is on it being VERY professional and classy, nothing cheesy about it. (If you want a copy send me a p.m. and I will email you one). It will take me about 8 minutes to look at their site and run it through a couple tools and and have a quick list of things that are missing. Another 10 minutes for my office manager to edit the template and print a good looking copy. My plan is to take out and deliver about 10 of these a day and call and follow up on them over the phone. My hope is that when they see the quality and professionalism of the report the chances are low it gets thrown in the trash and when I call I have a REASON to call and not some random idiot cold calling. **What do you think? Any suggestions? ** I have a lot of sales background and don't mind talking to people and I know the key will be in FOLLOWING UP which is what MOST people are NOT willing or able to bring themselves to do. I realize that giving away a 'free' report may devalue what I have to offer in some peoples minds...... thought about that. I am just getting started and only have a few clients but I HAVE produced great things for those few but I need to get the ball rolling a little quicker. SEO MOZ keyword ranking tool
Hi Guys, Can anyone please help me! I have a client that has two web pages that he wants optimising, one page is the home page and the other page is within the page.. Does anyone know if the SEO MOZ ranking tool only looks at the home page for jeywords or will it look at what ranking is the the other page within the website?? Or do I have to set up separate campaign jut for one page within the website?? Can anyone answer this please? Thanks Gareth

Why can I only add three search engines to a campaign?
I need to track global keywords rankings for a web based product. Only being able to add three search engines to a campaign is limiting. I need to track at least 5 regional versions of Google, and curently have to duplicate my campaign to do this. would prefer to keep it under one campaign.
