SEOmoz: Why do you pass PageRank to Social Platforms?

The social media icons in your footer are passing PageRank.

I guess my question is. Why?

Regional sites built on different platforms - will this solution for international targeting work?

We are working with our dev team on a few upcoming user stories to improve store.hp.com. We came across a question which isn’t clear in the international targeting documentation. Within http://store.hp.com, we have a number of regional stores, but those are often built on separate platforms. Therefore a story developed on the US infrastructure doesn’t carry over to Canada and so forth. The Canada Store is managed by a different team, so that story needs to get scoped, prioritized, etc. independently. In regards to helping Google understand page equivalence, will Google accept the page relationship if we include hreflang tags exclusively in the sitemap for the US site and exclusively as page-level markup for Canada site? To avoid errors in our Moz crawl, we removed subdomains from our host. (First we tried 301 redirects, also listed as errors.) Now we have backlinks all over the web that are broken. How bad is this, from a pagerank standpoint?

Our MOZ crawl kept telling us we had duplicate page content even though our subdomains were redirected to our main site. (Pages from Wineracks.vigilantinc.com were 301 redirected to vigilantinc.com/wineracks.) Now, to solve that problem, we have removed the wineracks.vigilantinc.com subdomain. The error report is better, but now we have broken backlinks - thousands of them. Is this hurting us worse than the duplicate content problem?

With this new update coming out with raven marketing with this SEO Moz have to do the same update? Are is this something that Raven does and SEOMoz doesnt do with getting 3 rd party info?

High-Traffic but Low PageRank?

Hi all, I just did a site audit, and I noticed that some of my high-traffic pages have a PR 0. The other pages on the site have PR 4 or 5, and yet the PR 0 pages are among the highest-traffic landing pages we have. This simply does not make any sense to me. Any ideas? Thanks!

Do pages that are in Googles supplemental index pass link juice?

I was just wondering if a page has been booted into the supplemental index for being a duplicate for example (or for any other reason), does this page pass link juice or not?

Has my Rich Snuppet attempt passed the test?

Good Morning from 16 degrees C still sunny Wetherby UK.... For the first time ive dived into Microformat,s schema.org Microdata call it what you will "Rich snippets" On this http://www.barrettsteel.com/ site on the bottom left I tweeked the address into a rich nippet, here is what i did: http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc53/zymurgy_bucket/barret-steel-converting-to-microformat-datacopy.jpg I then diligently tried to find out if it was valid by running it through http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets but I'm not 100% clear if its passed 😞 So my question is please can anyone verify if the snippet data is valid. Link Juice passing through a redirect of a disallowed URL

Hey guys! Suppose I disallow search bots from indexing anything on my secure server in my robots.txt, and 301 redirect all of my secure server traffic to my non-secure site. Will the search bots see the redirect before they realize that they're disallowed from accessing that page? Or will they see that page is disallowed and not follow the redirect? Should I change my robots.txt to allow search bots to crawl my secure site so they can find the redirects?

How Does Link Juice Pass?

Say there is a link on an authoritative site to my site, and the link points to www.mysite.com. However, I have set all URL variations (https://mysite.com, www.mysite.com, mysite.com, etc.) to redirect to http://mysite.com automatically. Does the link juice from this authoritative site pass through the www.mysite.com URL to http://mysite.com automatically due to the automatic redirect? I guess my question is does the link juice automatically pass on to the destination URL, even though it is not the original URL the authoritative site pointed to?
