Where can I find broken link.
-
Hi there,
I got some 404-errors in crawl diagnostics. How can I get the URLs where the broken links were found?
-
I used it to generate the report for 40000+ pages and it is frozen second time. Anyone have an idea how to get table like this
Page where broken link ---- URL of broken link
-
Thumbs up for Xenu. I just used it for the first time and found a bunch of very easy to fix issues.

Thanks guys,
I did crawl diagnostics here in seomoz and was wandering if there is info about broken links here (not just about 404-errors).
Do you know any cloud-based services that are similar for xenu?
-
Doesn't the crawl diagnostic system tell you? If you are talking about Google webmaster tools, under Diagnostics => Crawl Errors they will show 404 errors. They also usually show under the Linked From column the page they found the broken links on. If they are from external sites, you can't necessarily do anything about it, although you can try to contact the webmaster of the linking site and ask him to fix the link. If the broken links are from your own site, you fix them.
Many webmasters also use a program called Xenu. Do a search for it. It runs on Windows; I don't think they have a Mac version. It will crawl your site and identify broken links and what page they are on. It's a good idea to run a Xenu scan on your sites periodically.

Xenu link checker is free and will search your whole site. It also gives you a nice report breaking it down to what links are broken on each page.

Screaming Frog also make a tool which is a little more comprehensive but for ease of use Xenu will do admirably.

Hope it helps

product links
If you sell a range of products say 3 at the most, all on their own pages, is it ok to link to the other products within the range from each page? I have tried this and it eventually leads back to the same page is this a good, bad or doesn't really matter thing? Also is the anchor text still important?

Do footer links apply too many on-page links?
We tend to put a a lot of links in the footers of some of our websites (e.g. www.AlohaWhistler.com). Our CAMPAIGNS report is showing that several pages on such sites have "too many on-page links". We understand the logic that having more than 100 links per page is "too much". Does this also apply to footer links?

Links to subfolders
Hi everyone, I would like to know your opinion on this. Do you feel like optimizing, especially pointing links to a subfolder, e.g. www.domain.com/en/ (english language), should be the same as doing that for the main URL (another language)? That said, do you think all the domain will benefit from anchors to subfolders? Thanks a lot!
