Pagination Issues
-
Hi,
My press release section is showing pagination issues (duplicate pages)
http://www.me-by-melia.com/press/
I know they are showing 27 duplicate page titles which would be a easy fix. Do you recommend pagination?
Let me know if u see any other issues.
-
Clcik start capture, then when youload page it will list all requests and their status codes
-
what you recommend on how to change the url structure from http://www.me-by-melia.com/index3.html to www.melia-by-melia,com/London?
I try to F12 on I8, and click network. How do you distingiush how many redirects there were?
-
Excellent point as I whole heartily agree!
-
do you mean pass a title in the query string so they have indervidual titles? yes that would be a good idea. Duplicate titles is a waste of prime SEO real estate
if when you choose a different page, the content changes significantly then of cause DO NOT use canonical tags.
-
Your right. I was referring to duplicate titles. Something as simple as that can be fix updating the title tags. Do you recommend I changing the titles of the page in the URL string instead of showing /press26 or /press27?
Good suggestions though!
-
sorry i may of mis-understood.
Are they duplicate content? if so i would do as i suggested,
If they are indervidual press releases, then why are they being reported as duplicate. You need to add enouth content to make sure thet they are seen as indervidual.
I can not load page its seems to be offline or some problem, so i dont understand how you are using pagnation,

Will the individual press release pages still get indexed and ranked individually in the search engines?
-
Add http://www.me-by-melia.com/press/"/>
this will tell the SE that no matter what the parameters give credit to http://www.me-by-melia.com/press/

Client wants to show 2 different types of content based on cookie usage - potential cloaking issue?
Hi, A client of mine has compliance issues in their industry and has to show two different types of content to visitors: domain.com/customer-a/about-us domain.com/customer-b/about-us Next year, they have to increase that to three different types of customer. Rather than creating a third section (customer-c), because it's very similar to one of the types of customers already (customer-b), their web development agency is suggesting changing the content based on cookies, so if a user has indentified themselves as customer-b, they'll be shown /customer-b/, but if they've identified themselves as customer-c, they'll see a different version of /customer-b/ - in other words, the URL won't change, but the content on the page will change, based on their cookie selection. I'm uneasy about this from an SEO POV because: Google will only be able to see one version (/customer-b/ presumably), so it might miss out on indexing valuable /customer-c/ content, It makes sense to separate them into three URL paths so that Google can index them all, It feels like a form of cloaking - i.e. Google only sees one version, when two versions are actually available. I've done some research but everything I'm seeing is saying that it's fine, that it's not a form of cloaking. I can't find any examples specific to this situation though. Any input/advice would be appreciated. Note: The content isn't shown differently based on geography - i.e. these three customers would be within one country (e.g. the UK), which means that hreflang/geo-targeting won't be a workaround unfortunately.

Pagination, Canonical Tag & Best Practices
I have an eCommerce site that dynamically creates category pages, which produce canonical tags in the header. For multiple page categories, it adds the page number to the URL. For example, this category has 3 pages.... Because most categories have too many products, I can't follow Googles suggestion of creating a "view all" page. Furthermore since all these pages use the same template, I'm unable to insert a NOINDEX tag in all the pages after the first page. Also, in this scenario, I'm unable to insert the discreet code for Next/Previous, which is also suggested by Google. My only option for maintaining these dynamically generated category pages would be to hardcode the first conical tag in the template, which would then be produced on all subsequent paginated pages. Consequently, every paginated page in this category would have the same canonical tag pointing to the first page. Would this incur the wrath of Google and would I'd be better off leaving the pagination they way it is?

Pagination, Canonical, Prev & Next
Hello All
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | Vitalized
I have a question about my Magento setup. I have lots of categories which have many products so the categories paginate. I've seen info about making sure the Canonical tag doesn't simply send Search Engines back to the first page meaning the paginated pages won't get indexed. I've also seen info about using the rel=next & rel=prev to help Search Engines understand the category pages are paginated... Is it okay to use both? I've made sure that: category/?p=1 has a canonical of category/ to make sure there isn't duplicate content. Here's an example of category/?p=2 meta data:

SEO issues with Magento
Hi Everyone, We use Magento CMS for our site and we are having a frustrating time resolving our SEO issues. The site was very poorly managed in years past and in the past year I have redesigned and cleaned up many things. However we are recently having trouble with indexing and keyword ranking. Issue #1: Our main keyword ranking has dropped quite a bit while our other less important keywords have steadily risen. I suspect a very strict robots.txt implemented back in early January may have been the culprit. We have since been modifying it with out much luck. Many of our pages are still blocked. 12/05/12 : ranked 12th 1/09/13: ranked 19th 1/16/13: ranked 35th Now: out of top 50 (52nd) Issue #2: Not a single image is being indexed. We are 0 for 582 according to Webmaster tools. Not sure why... Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated as I have great determination and interest in learning the correct way to fix/do this. Site: www.scojo.com Thanks

Indexing issue or just time?
Hey guys, When I publish a post on our blog, I notice that it barely shows up in SERPs even if I copy and paste the title verbatim into Google. All my settings in Yoast are correct from what I've seen. Is this just Google slowly getting around to crawling our site? Or is something else wrong here? We recently shut down and relaunched our site about 3 weeks ago. Here is the site URL: The Tech Block

Google indexing issue?
Hey Guys, After a lot of hard work, we finally fixed the problem on our site that didn't seem to show Meta Descriptions in Google, as well as "noindex, follow" on tags. Here's my question: In our source code, I am seeing both Meta descriptions on pages, and posts, as well as noindex, follow on tag pages, however, they are still showing the old results and tags are also still showing in Google search after about 36 hours. Is it just a matter of time now or is something else wrong?
