Fixing the Too Many On-Page Links
-
In our campaign I see that it reported that some of our pages have too many on-page links. But I think most of the links that was seen by MozBot is related to our images. There are a lot of images in our site and at the same time we support 11 languages which adds additional links
One of the pages that have a lot of links is www.florahospitality.com/dining.aspx
What can you <a></a>suggest to fix this?
Thanks. <a></a><a></a><a></a><a></a><a></a><a></a><a></a><a></a><a></a><a></a><a></a><a></a><a></a><a></a><a></a><a></a><a></a>

btw Alan, may I know what browser are you using to see the website? because we are not encountering that freezing and scroll problem.
-
Yes but they actualy have different pages,
http://www.florahospitality.com/nl/dining.aspxhttp://www.florahospitality.com/fr/dining.aspxhttp://www.florahospitality.com/it/dining.aspxhttp://www.florahospitality.com/ko/dining.aspxhttp://www.florahospitality.com/jp/dining.aspxCMSmakes things esiser to get started, but always lead to workarounds. if you want perfection you need to create a bespoke website i am afraid.
-
Actually it works the same way as we are using a cms (umbraco). Umbraco handles the translation but in their setup it is a different document hence needing for a link to direct to other language.
-
Thats a lot better, its actualy quite nice layout. But when view all is selected, it keeps freezing and is hard to scroll.
I see you have many languages and this is the problem. I see the site is made from asp.net, why did you not use the globalizatuion feature of ASP.net, it would show a language depending on the users settings on the computer, rather then have several versions, this would make life easier in development and solve your problem of havaing a link to every version.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa478974.aspxThe idea is to have all your text stored in resource files, one for each lingo, depending on windows settings you pull you content from a different rsource file.

Hi Alan,
It is working now. We just deployed some updates this morning that's why there was a little downtime.

Hi Ryan,

I must agree with Ryan here, the site looks like its missing a css file or somthing, they layout is non-existent. I think you havve more pressing concerns that link count
-
The link you are sharing does not appear very well at all. I have looked at the site from two different computers using a FF and Chrome browser. The page is not user friendly at all and I suggest you take a closer look at the web design itself.
With that said, generally speaking you want to offer links to your most important pages, and to pages your users will likely want to see. Presenting over 100 links on a page is often not very friendly as there are too many options. It really depends on HOW you present the links. Some sites can offer 200 links on a page and present them in such a manner as to be helpful, but that is not usually the case.
In your case, please take a look at how the site appears in FF and Chrome, fix it, then better feedback can be offered.

API for On Page tool
I'm looking for a tool similar to On Page Grader (Moz) or Focus Keyword (Yoast) with API. We are building out or internal CRM system. Even though none of these tools can replace manual on page analysis, it will be used as a metric and to catch human mistakes.

Filter Pages
Howdy Moz Forum!! I have a headache of a job over here in the UK and I'd welcome any advice! - It's sunny today, only 1 of 5 days in a year and i'm stuck on this! I have a client that currently has 22,000 pages indexed to Google with almost 4000 showing as duplicate content. The site has a "jobs" and "candidates" list. This can cause all sorts of variations such as job title, language, location etc. The filter pages all seem to be indexed. Plus the static pages are indexed. For example if there were 100 jobs at Moz being advertised, it is displaying the jobs on the following URL structure - /moz
Moz Pro | | Slumberjac
/moz/moz-jobs
/moz/moz-jobs/page/2
/moz/moz-jobs/page/3
/moz/moz-jobs/page/4
/moz/moz-jobs/page/5 ETC ETC Imagine this with some going up to page/250 I have checked GA data and can see that although there are tons of pages indexed this way, non of them past the "/moz/moz-jobs" URL get any sort of organic traffic. So, my first question! - Should I use rel-canonical tags on all the /page/2 & /page/3 etc results and point them all at the /moz/moz-jobs parent page?? The reason for this is these pages have the same title and content and fall very close to "duplicate" content even though it does pull in different jobs... I hope i'm making sense? There is also a lot of pages indexed in a way such as- https://www.examplesite.co.uk/moz-jobs/search/page/9/?candidate_search_type=seo-consulant&candidate_search_language=blank-language These are filter pages... and as far as I'm concerned shouldn't really be indexed? Second question! - Should I "no follow" everything after /page in this instance? To keep things tidy? I don't want all the variations indexed! Any help or general thoughts would be much appreciated! Broken links in the pdf of the On Page Report
Hi, I run an individual On Page report for a particular URL, then I export as pdf. The URL appears in the pdf and looks fine but when you click on it it goes to a 'page not found'. I know the URL is correct. When I hover over the URL in the pdf i notice that the word 'Good' is at the end of my URL but I did not put this in there. if I give the report to a client it doesn't look so good. http://www.narellanpools.com.au/local-contact/narellan-pools-alburywodongaGood Is this a bug? Canonical link on canonical url
This might seem a bit of an odd one, but we seem to be going around in circles on this when using the on page optimizer tool. We have an ecommerce site (magento) which by default is putting a canonical link in the header on every product page. For example; www.example.com/product1.html has the But when we run the on page optimiser tool, we're losing points on the critical section for not having canonical set correctly. If we remove the tag, we get the tick and the a grade, but then further down the report we lose a tick for not using canonical links. What are we missing here?

Dynamic URL pages in Crawl Diagnostics
The crawl diagnostic has found errors for pages that do not exist within the site. These pages do not appear in the SERPs and are seemingly dynamic URL pages. Most of the URLs that appear are formatted http://mysite.com/keyword,%20_keyword_,%20key_word_/ which appear as dynamic URLs for potential search phrases within the site. The other popular variety among these pages have a URL format of http://mysite.com/tag/keyword/filename.xml?sort=filter which are only generated by a filter utility on the site. These pages comprise about 90% of 401 errors, duplicate page content/title, overly-dynamic URL, missing meta decription tag, etc. Many of the same pages appear for multiple errors/warnings/notices categories. So, why are these pages being received into the crawl test? and how to I stop it to gauge for a better analysis of my site via SEOmoz?

How to check Page Authority in bulk?
Hey guys, I'm on the free trial for SEOmoz PRO and I'm in love. One question, though. I've been looking all over the internet for a way to check Page Authority in bulk. Is there a way to do this? Would I need the SEOmoz API? And what is the charge? All I really need is a way to check Page Authority in bulk--no extra bells and whistles. Thanks, Brandon
